What do you do when you stumble upon information that changes everything you thought you knew? While her parents are out of town for the weekend, Courtney Beckham goes horseback riding in the land surrounding their property and stumbles upon something she shouldn't have seen. Before she can get away she's kidnapped and taken to a cabin. When they find out who she is they demand a $10 million ransom, but while trying to figure out how to get away from her kidnappers, Courtney sees the caller ID on the landline and realizes she may not be able to go back home.
FBI agent Jason Edwards is on the case to find Courtney Beckham, following every lead in the hope of finding her unharmed or at least still alive. His gut tells him something isn't quite right and while following up on something on his own time he realizes some clues they followed were planted and they were lead astray, leading them to search for Courtney in the wrong place, which is why they couldn't find her. When Jason stumbles upon a filthy, hungry Courtney they don't get far before her kidnappers find and capture them.
I originally read this book in 2012 or so under the title Caller ID. The author has updated the story and because it's been almost 8 years since I read it, it was like a new book to me. I thoroughly enjoyed this clean suspense, and it kept my attention way past my bedtime.
I liked Courtney, she was smart and even though she was in situations that caused fear, she was able to figure things out and act. She'd been hurt in the past and was tired of the front she put on for people. The kidnapping made her realize more than ever that she deserved someone in her life that saw her, not the person she had been pretending to be.
Although we find out who the bad guy is long before the book ends, it's a thrilling ride finding out how he'll be caught and if the FBI will find Courtney and Jason. I really like Rachelle J. Christensen's suspense books and look forward to more of the Jason Edwards series.

Caller ID is great romantic suspense. The story-line was fast paced and kept me guessing. We find out who is behind the kidnapping fairly early on but I wasn't expecting it to be who it was. Even though we know who the bad guy is there are still lots of twists and turns in the story right up until the end.
Caller ID stands alone but one of the main characters Jason Edwards was in Rachelle's first book Wrong Number. I enjoyed Caller ID enough that I decided I wanted to see what happened to Jason in Wrong Number so it is my next read.
Caller ID definitely made me a Rachelle Christensen fan. I'm looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

Caller ID had me on the edge of my seat. Courtney is the only child of a millionaire developer. When she stumbles onto a secret, she is kidnapped and held for ransom. Secrets and startling discoveries unfold and throw Courtney straight into the path of danger and lies. FBI agent, Jason Edwards, feels that they're missing something and investigates a hunch a little further, only to find himself in danger as well.
I enjoyed the setting (near my home) and the characters were great. I loved the chemistry that developed. Things just kept unfolding, right up to the end.

Whoa, talk about being totally engrossed in a story! I started this last evening and couldn't put it down. Would have stayed awake all night to finish but fell asleep. Then the dreams started. My brain was coming up with all kinds of crazy plots, trying to finish the story for me! Finally, I had to force myself to wake up. Got out of bed, took my Kindle in another room and read all of it! Had to give my online music lessons half-asleep today. 😁 But it was so worth it; I'm really excited about this series!

This is the second book in The Jason Edwards FBI Chronicles: Dangerous Secrets Suspense. This romantic suspense is a page turner. Courtney was the daughter of a wealthy land developer who's life changed when she was out horseback riding. Secrets, kidnapping, conspiracy, danger, drugs, betrayal and so much more. This is a well written book that will grab your attention and keep you awake until you finish. Well written with strong characters and a page turning story line. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.

I knew from reading the first book that I had to begin Forget What You've Seen in the morning - or lose another night's sleep! It is wonderful to find a truly suspenseful, clean story that keeps me so engrossed. There are lots of twists and I was so surprised at the ending. I never saw that coming! This book is very well written and I accomplished nothing but reading until I finished it!

Hello suspense! I have to tell you, and hopefully warn you, that if you pick this one up you probably won't want to set it down until you've read it all. I started it after everyone went to bed and I was stressed out trying to read it and figure out what was going on. *shakes head and laughs* I couldn't stop reading! So there's your warning from my experience. It was a nail biter. The twists and turns kept catching me off guard. At first I thought I had it figured out. Then I'd change my guess when more details were given. Then I'd think once again I had it figured out and then bam! Something would happen that would discredit my theory having me change it once again. You'd think that I'd learn to just stop and read the book but after reading and watching countless mystery/suspense/crime shows I can't not try to formulate the plot and figure out whodunnit!
Courtney doesn't know what's coming her way. But she's one resourceful person and takes so many different lessons and experiences from her life to keep herself safe and figuring out what's going on. Stumbling upon something she wasn't supposed to see throws her life into a tailspin and her wondering if she'll ever get out again.
This is the second book in the Jason Edwards FBI Chronicles. You can read any of them as a stand alone novel. But they're so well written that if you enjoy a good suspenseful read that you might just find yourself diving into all three of them. Now I'm hoping that this author will be writing some more books in this genre. *hint, hint* I'm familiar with the setting of the book so that was fun picturing it while reading about it. I always enjoy discovering that I know the settings of books that I'm reading.
Just remember my warning that if you grab a copy to read that you carve out plenty of time to devour the book because you might struggle putting it down like I did. Or maybe you can only take it small doses and in that case you can just ignore my warning. This is a book that I will definitely head back to and tell friends and family to read.

There is talk about murder, abduction, drugs, and such so if those are triggers for you, just know they are part of this book. There is scene where the main character gets attacked but nothing more than that. Brief reference to rape (in the past)but not in detail.

I totally knew I was in for a good ride when I signed on to be a part of this blog tour for Caller ID. I read Wrong Number, also by Rachelle Christensen, and enjoyed it so I knew this would be good.
The story starts off by telling us how someone had been murdered in the woods the previous year. Courtney's dad is always telling her to stay out of the woods so when she decides to take a ride into the woods on her horse, my heart started anticipating. I tried to tell Courtney, "Do NOT go into those woods." "Oh, do NOT follow that little dog into the woods." "DO NOT DO IT!!!" Seriously? Nobody listens to me.
I was fully invested from the beginning to the end of this book. Courtney was very resourceful and um, flexible. If I had been where Courtney was I would have totally died because I cannot contort my body in those ways. Wait a minute, this is fiction, so never mind. I totally could have been just as resourceful and flexible. In fact, I probably could have done it 20 minutes earlier than her because in fiction, I'm way smart too.
The story moved right along. It was interesting and kept my mind wondering how all the pieces fit together and it kept my heart beating just a bit faster than necessary. Which was good because I totally counted that for my workout for that day. Who knew reading could also be a workout, right? And yes, I totally did read this book in one day. It was that good. :)

When I started this I didn’t realize that there had been a previous book, Wrong Number. I don’t think it’s necessary to read them in order, but it probably would have been nice. Anyway, I really enjoyed Caller ID. It kept me guessing and there was enough excitement to keep things interesting. I liked Courtney, she is smart and savvy. She doesn’t give up and is a lot stronger than she thinks. There is also a touch of romance in the story, which I always appreciate. One thing that kinda bothered me (and I don’t think its much of a spoiler), was how quickly Courtney trusted Jason. Given everything she’s been through I found it hard to believe she so willingly trusted him, given how they meet and the situation. Overall, I thought it was a really enjoyable story. I look forward to reading the first book now and whatever else Rachelle Christensen writes.

Rachelle J. Christensen does a great job writing a suspenseful novel. The story was believable and intense, and done in such a way that it was still clean.
Those who have read Christensen's other novel Wrong Number will recognize Jason. I liked his character in that story, and was glad to have him play a much bigger role this time.

CALLER ID by Rachel J. Christensen is the most enjoyable,and engaging book I have ever read. I just couldn’t put it down. A very interesting read with romance,a kidnapping scheme,it is a fast paced,nail-bitting suspense story. Courtney Beckham is a great character. A very good read.I would highly recommend “Caller Id” to anyone who enjoys romance,suspense, intrigue,a bit of mystery,Christian(which is not preachy)and clean romance.A must read! I loved that Jason Edwards starred in this mystery. The sizzle between him and Court lit up the pages of this book. The setting was like another character as they fought to survive. Twists and turns abound as the action ramped up. Courtney was a strong, fearless heroine not satisfied with being rescued. Her spunk, fortitude, and determination saved the day. This exciting thriller kept me up late into the night.

Good suspense /thriller, with a dash of romance. Read it all in one day, considered it time well spent. If you are looking for a story to spend a day with, definitely recommend this one upon its release in March!

My second suspense novel follows up on a favorite character from Wrong Number. Agent Jason Edwards has a tough case to solve when Courtney Beckham is kidnapped. This book is a spin-off, so it's a stand-alone but those who've read Wrong Number will recognize Jason.

Wow, what suspense. I couldn’t stop reading until I found out what happened to Courtney. Being kidnapped isn’t her only problem. The story made me want to jump in and try to save her. Don’t miss out.

6. “Caller ID” a novel by Rachelle J. Christensen is a thriller, and adventure fiction book. Courtney Beckham is a the only child of Eric and Chloe Beckham. Everyone expects Courtney to act like a little brat because her father is extremely rich and she very spoiled. But once she is reported missing they realise that Courtney is stronger than they think. This book was really hard for me to get into especially the first part. Because it wasn’t as detailed as I thought it would be. I didn’t like how Courtney usually only dated football players or other athletes. Everyone assumed that they knew Courtney but after her incident they realise they didn’t know her at all. It was so nerve racking because FBI agent Jason Edwards went to the place where Courtney was taken the evidence was right in the middle of his face and he didn’t see it. I wish I could just tell him where the evidence was. I really liked how strong and positive Courtney was during the time she was held hostage. When Courtney escaped the first time it almost seemed too easy. I was expecting them to find her again. In the end of the book Courtney finds out who she truly is because she realises that she can be more than just a spoiled rich girl and act as everyone expects her to act. The theme of this book is if you try hard good things will come. Because after Courtney had escaped the cabin where the men where that held her captive she ran as fast as she could tripped fell and sprained her ankle. But she did not stop she kept on moving to get away and finally she was rescued. So hard work pays off.

My Review :
I love this author's seemingly simple but effective style of writing that grabs you from the start. This is my first time reading anything by this author. Even though mid way through the book we find out who the kidnapper is, its still a good read . I will admit that I was disappointed when I found out who the kidnapper was so soon into the story. To me that was a huge downer. Still i wondered How far would the kidnapper go to keep their secret underwraps and thats what kelpt me reading. The characters are well-developed and the pacing is good.I thought the emotional roller coaster Courtney experienced really made you understand her so much better as she worked through everything rather than being seen as just another pretty ritch girl. This book had Great characters, great plot and one seriously messed up family! You need to read this book and see for yourself.

This was my first Rachelle Christensen book, but I could instantly see why her books have been a hit. She really knows how to pull the reader in emotionally and she understands how to write flawed characters. Some of these flawed characters are noticeable and some are instantly forgotten, but the reader is captivated by the story either way. In Caller ID, the story revolves around Courtney “Court” Beckham and I was eager to see how things worked out for her.
Courtney is about to get kidnapped by drug lords after stumbling upon their marijuana supply in the woods near her home in the Utah mountains. Before this happens, however, we learn a few things about her that will determine how she responds. Courtney is 23 years old and she’s an outdoor girl. She loves running, horse-back riding and wakeboarding. She even comments in the narrative that she’s not one to sit still in order to think things through. She thinks better on the move. Just before she gets kidnapped, she makes the decision to break up with her football player boyfriend who is more interested in getting physical than he is in getting to know her. Soon after she makes this decision another guy asks her out. I kept thinking, what does Courtney see in these guys? The problem is, she’s still sorting out who she is after experiencing something traumatic and she hasn’t realized her strength yet. So she sticks with the persona of a flirty attitude to cover up her nerves. Just before she starts dating this other guy, she gets kidnapped.
In a desperate attempt to avoid being sexually assaulted, she tells her kidnapper her name and promises him a million dollars in ransom money if he’ll contact her father. The FBI gets involved and this is when Special Agent Jason Edwards gets called in; his character was in the first book, Wrong Number. Jason has a gut instinct that hasn’t failed him yet, is very in tune with his surroundings even though he just moved to the area six months prior to this case, and he feels an instant connection with Courtney even before he meets her. As he’s investigating clues, he also gets caught up in the same dangerous situation as Courtney is in and they must work together to bring justice for all involved. That part of the story brings romance that I was satisfied with. There was no profanity in the story, but I would still consider this book PG-13 for other content (appropriate reading for older teens).
Uncomfortable parts of the story for me
--There are drugs in the story; they are only described once when Courtney finds them and there is no smoking in the story, but marijuana is illegal and there is illegal activity centered around the drugs
--Violence; only one person is shot dead, but two others are shot and live. One man is gets kicked in the groin, nose broken, a glass bowl broken over his head, strangled and survives; one man breaks his neck falling off an ATV; Jason gets roughed up and tied up; Courtney is tied up several times; one animal is killed (that was disturbing); Courtney is constantly terrorized in the story

While Courtney is being held against her will she makes a discovery that the whole story is based on. She is betrayed by someone she loves and trusts. That betrayal really caught me off guard and leads to more complications in the plot that I did not see coming. Christensen has a gift of putting twists into her stories that are unpredictable and brave.
As a reader you must decide if this is the kind of story you’ll be able to figure out or you learn to trust the direction that Christensen takes you in. Even though the betrayal is learned halfway through the plot, I still couldn’t figure out how things would play out. No matter how uncomfortable I was about certain aspects of this book, I had to see what happened with Courtney. Despite my discomfort, the writing was smooth and the pace does not slow down. It is well written in regards to the obstacles Courtney must overcome. I never saw Courtney as the spoiled brat she alluded to more than once. I simply saw her as a young woman trying to find her way. She finds herself while in the worst of circumstances and my admiration deepened for her when she decides not to go home until she resolves the case. She takes unnecessary risks to save one person’s life and she ignores her own injuries to help others. She even forgives her persecutor and gives him a second chance, which left me stunned for a moment.
Whenever a kidnapping takes place, the kidnapped person is forever changed. Courtney can definitely attest to that, but she will also smile knowing that she found her strength while those thugs were pursuing her. She found out that she doesn’t have to hide her true self any longer and she decides where she will go next instead of following someone else’s path for her. I left my comfort zone to read this book, but I’m glad I did because reading Courtney’s journey was worth it. I learned that even in loss and betrayal, there’s always hope.

This was my first Rachelle Christensen book, but I could instantly see why her books have been a hit. She really knows how to pull the reader in emotionally and she understands how to write flawed characters. Some of these flawed characters are noticeable and some are instantly forgotten, but the reader is captivated by the story either way. In Caller ID, the story revolves around Courtney “Court” Beckham and I was eager to see how things worked out for her.
Courtney is about to get kidnapped by drug lords after stumbling upon their marijuana supply in the woods near her home in the Utah mountains. Before this happens, however, we learn a few things about her that will determine how she responds. Courtney is 23 years old and she’s an outdoor girl. She loves running, horse-back riding and wakeboarding. She even comments in the narrative that she’s not one to sit still in order to think things through. She thinks better on the move. Just before she gets kidnapped, she makes the decision to break up with her football player boyfriend who is more interested in getting physical than he is in getting to know her. Soon after she makes this decision another guy asks her out. I kept thinking, what does Courtney see in these guys? The problem is, she’s still sorting out who she is after experiencing something traumatic and she hasn’t realized her strength yet. So she sticks with the persona of a flirty attitude to cover up her nerves. Just before she starts dating this other guy, she gets kidnapped.
In a desperate attempt to avoid being sexually assaulted, she tells her kidnapper her name and promises him a million dollars in ransom money if he’ll contact her father. The FBI gets involved and this is when Special Agent Jason Edwards gets called in; his character was in the first book, Wrong Number. Jason has a gut instinct that hasn’t failed him yet, is very in tune with his surroundings even though he just moved to the area six months prior to this case, and he feels an instant connection with Courtney even before he meets her. As he’s investigating clues, he also gets caught up in the same dangerous situation as Courtney is in and they must work together to bring justice for all involved. That part of the story brings romance that I was satisfied with. There was no profanity in the story, but I would still consider this book PG-13 for other content (appropriate reading for older teens).
Uncomfortable parts of the story for me
--There are drugs in the story; they are only described once when Courtney finds them and there is no smoking in the story, but marijuana is illegal and there is illegal activity centered around the drugs
--Violence; only one person is shot dead, but two others are shot and live. One man is gets kicked in the groin, nose broken, a glass bowl broken over his head, strangled and survives; one man breaks his neck falling off an ATV; Jason gets roughed up and tied up; Courtney is tied up several times; one animal is killed (that was disturbing); Courtney is constantly terrorized in the story

Great book!
I enjoyed this book very much and plan on reading more in this series. It has a lot of twists and turns you would not expect. About the time you think you have it figured out another surprise comes along. Courtney is kidnapped by drug dealers and threatened with death if she doesn't follow their rules. When she finds out who had her kidnapped she is shocked to her core with disbelief. Don't plan on doing any chores while reading this book as you won't want to put it down.

A good book but I just not into organized crime thrillers and this is what this is.
I thrifted this book and after buying it realized it is a Utah author and a Utah Indie Publisher. As I live in Utah I love supporting Utah authors. I also loved that this was set it in Utah every location I could picture.
It’s under 300 pages so it was easy to breeze through and the FMC was relatable and easy to like. I even liked that there was a little romance mixed in.

Reading at its best…
My first intro to Rachelle J. Christensen’s writings has definitely won me over. Well-written with good character development, the story was intriguing and held my interest throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the personal growth and developing relationship between Courtney and Jason and I found the multi-layered story offered mystery, suspense, clean romance and a few surprises – all contributing to a satisfying read and time well spent.

This FBI thriller has non-stop suspense with a little romance thrown in. We get the continuing story about Jason Edwards, the FBI hero from Wrong Number. Courtney may be a spoiled debutante but there is more than meets the eye with this character. Well written with a fast paced plot with many twists and turns.

this is a good story she is out riding and them she is kidnapped . then she hears a conversation that lets her know she has to escape. what do you do when you do not know who you can trust. she does get away but then the fbi finds her but then they are both taken hostage there are twists and turns

I love a good mystery & this one meets that criteria. There is lots of danger, twists & turns & an ending that was not as it appeared when the person behind the mystery is revealed. Great Read I Couldn't Put Down. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.

I love how Rachelle can take a story and put so many spins on the outcome. I never see them coming. This book is no different. If you like this type of suspense, I highly recommend you read this one. I know I am a big fan of her books.

Fast paced, like the romance, little as it was.

What a great read. If you're looking for a fast paced, page turning thriller then this is the book for you. I had a hard time putting it down. Well written and engaging characters.
