WARNING - Some spoilers from episodes 1-2-3

Have I said that I'm in love with this series? If I haven't, I'm saying it right now! I love this series! In the first episode Kelly Green brought us a story with really lovely characters, a different story… a fresh story about a girl that doesn't know anything about her life, she doesn't remember anything, and she is in the body of someone else…

The second episode continues with the same style. Abby in the body of another girl, where she needs to resolve something. And maybe if you haven't read the books yet, you're thinking that the story is kind of repetitive… and I'm telling you… No, it's not. It's awesome. In every book Abby not only needs to help those people and discover the mystery around them, but she also needs to discover her life, who is she? Who is her mother, her dad? What is her story?

The last episode was literally heartbreaking at the end. I wanted to read more, to know a little bit more about Abby's life, but time was over, and she needed to move forward. Top of the Class starts with a big change and a big challenge for Abby, and I must say that the cover is very revealing! Ha! Abby is now a boy and the needs to behave like one… and you need to add a big mystery that needs to be resolved before time is over, or Abby will be stuck forever in the body of a boy that is going to jail.

Like the first two books, there is a lot of suspense, and nothing is what it seems. Secrets and lots of secrets and Abby is running against time. Will she make it? Again, I think I said it before, I really like her character, she is so smart, so intelligent… but at the same time, sweet… strong… And Will, even though he just appears at the beginning and at the ending of the book, I really like his character, and I would love to know a little bit more about him.

Top of the class is the third episode of this series, and it's as amazing as the first two books. Now I can't wait to read the next one!

If you haven't read those books yet, I highly recommend you to do it. They are short books with a lot of mystery, secrets, fun, high schools… and romance? Maybe? Who knows?

I've really enjoyed reading this whole series so far, but Top of the Class is most definitely my favourite! Not only is the conflict more serious than the first two but….Abby Grace wakes up in the boy of a teenage male. While he's in bed with a girl. Seriously? This is the stuff of gold! The third episode follows Abby's time in high school as Eric, her body, deals with a "complicated" romance and a framing that could send him to jail. The stakes are high so fingers crossed she solves the mystery in time!

Firstly, it was great to see Eric's relationship with his girlfriend play out. Who she is is a big spoiler in itself but just know that it's a bit shocking. Eric's life is a war zone at the moment and I loved seeing Abby take action to wrangle it back to normal! Again, the mystery and plot are constructed very well and I'm always surprised at how much action is fit into so few pages! It's exciting and fun from beginning to end, and little twists relating to the overall story arc are thrown in as well. I can't wait to see where Green takes this story next!

I felt the personalities really shine through this time. We're getting to know the characters better and better with each episode, and I'm looking forward to Will's character being expanded further the most. Abby's ghost guide is an obvious love interest and he's now beginning to share his feelings with her. Isn't that cute? *pinches cheeks* He always appears randomly but does help her whenever and as much as he can!

As always, you won't guess how it ends! As soon as you decide it's "obviously this person", Green turns things around and sends you in a completely different direction! You'll have to think ahead five steps to figure things out ;) Very much looking forward to episode four!

Abby is ready for the transition this time into a new body, but she's in for a big surprise. She never thought she would end up in a guy's body. Naked. In bed with someone else who is naked. After that shock to her system though, Abby gets on task, though there are more surprise to come as she struggles to complete her third mission.

MORE ABBY GRACE! These books are just really fun. I wish that there was more development of Miss Rogers in this one though. We were told that she was crazy and unstable, but we never really saw that. I did like this story though, there were lots of suspects and each one had the perfect motive and opportunity. We learn a bit more about Abby Grace in this one. Slowly we will uncover more of her past and hopefully find out what her future holds. I also hope we'll have more Will soon. He seems like a fun guy, even if Abby sort of ignores him sometimes. And that ending!!! GAH! I can't wait to find out what happens next. If you haven't checked out this series yet, make sure you do. I'm hoping that these will be published as bind-up paperbacks so I can get them for my library. These are great reads for reluctant readers, and avid readers who just want a fun quick mystery.

First Line:

Favorite Line:
"It seemed I’d been transplanted into the body of Superman."

I have found myself enjoying the Borrowing Abby Grace trilogy as I love body shifting novels , one that I read recently that was awesome was Shift by Em Bailey. Unlike the previous two books in the Borrowing Abby Grace series, this one is more interesting as Abby doesn't just shift into another body but unlike her previous two which have been female , Abby is about to shift into a body of a teenage boy named Eric. This made me laugh as it reminded me of the film "The Hot Guy" with a mix of the Reese Witherspoon film "The Graduate" as Eric has a secret girlfriend and if it was to get out both him , but more his girlfriend would be in deep deep trouble -like cops trouble as it turns out his girlfriend is one of his teacher's Miss Rogers which puts a whole new spin on Teacher's Pet. In Teacher's Pet , we read as Eric is accused of breaking and entering and changing the scores on his exams - his fingerprints are all over the crime scene , is somebody trying to set Eric up and has it got something to do with his bit on the side in extra-curricular activities ? Meanwhile as Abby continues to be Eric we read as she gets a little bit closer to her guide Will - Will Abby and Will have a chance at a romance together or is it impossible when Abby never really knows until the very last second if she will ever get out of the body she has borrowed ?

Title: Borrowing Abby Grace: Top of the Class
Author: Kelly Green
Publisher: Backlit Fiction, LLC
Publication Date: 2011
Source: Copy given in exchange for an honest review

Genre: YA Novella/Episodic Mystery

Cover: <3 I just like these covers. They obviously have a common thread (the same top half), and the bottom changes depending on what this novella/episode will be covering. Great idea, and it still would grab my attention

Plot: Again <3. The plots keep getting better in this series. Admittedly, the first book was cute in my opinion, but the second one got even better. Green has upped the ante once again in this one, and I dig it. This one had high stakes, risqué elements, and lots of forward momentum.

Romantic Element: Things are a-brewin’, and I’m liking the direction that the series is taking. Also, by nature of the series, the second episode and this one lend themselves to have internal romantic drama. Gotta love it. (Psst. Parents, this one is more heavy PG-13, not because anything is graphic, just because of the content and subject matter.)

Overall: Mysteries are growing on me, and I’m thanking Green in part for this development. The episodes are short but complete, cute but interesting, and I’m enjoying the ride. Bring on the next episode!

This book got me laughing. There was a lot going on; it's impressive that Green was able to pack so much into such a quick read.

Still, I want more of Will. There is so much potential there! I realize he's not the main character, but I wish he could be there all the time.

Also, there's a bit of a surprise at the end, which makes me want to read the next one right away. Can't wait for more!
