When Andy is given a surprise gift by his grandmother, no one is more surprised than the toys in his room - it's a second Buzz Lightyear! The stage is set for a Star Command showdown as only one Buzz can stay.
It was a very good comic. I really loved it. It made me want to read the other comics that I have of this collection. Just like in the movie these toys are ready to do anything to save the other toys that belong to Andy.
C'était une très bonne bd. Je l'ai vraiment aimée. Ça m'a donné envie de lire les autres bd que j'ai de cette collection. Tout comme dans le film ces jouets sont prêt à tout pour sauver les autres jouets qui appartiennent à Andy.
Overall enjoyable story but I took issue with a few things in this book which made it a less and less enjoyable read every time my son asked me to read it again. Definitely will not be adding this to our Toy Story collection.
This is a pretty good read. If you are a fan of the Toy Story films, you will enjoy this adventure of the Toy Story Gang as they are on the race to save the real Buzz LightYear.
Reason for Reading: While not being what you could call Disney fans, the whole family loves Toy Story and I don't know who was more excited to read this me or the 10yr old.
This is a bind up of the first four comic books of a new ongoing series featuring the original Toy Story characters. Set in the time after the first movie all the favourite Toys are present. Buzz and Woody take centre stage but a handful of the others play major secondary characters to the plot with everybody chiming in at least once. By the end of the book there are two new toys added to the collection but I somehow doubt they will show up in future volumes.
A present arrives for Andy and the fact that this is a "just because" present really upsets the Toys. When Andy opens it and finds a Buzz Lightyear he is disappointed and his mother makes arrangements with him to return it that night and get a different "Space Control" character. The new Buzz is not going down without a fight though and the two Buzzes have it out but in the end the wrong Buzz is returned to the store. Woody gathers the Toys together and they make a midnight run to save Buzz and switch him with the unwanted Buzz.
Lots of fun! The writing is splendid! You can hear the character's voices in your head as you read. I love that we are back to the original Toy Story time period! A typical storyline that one expects from these characters and the graphic novel format is a wonderful way to showcase some of the lesser characters. For example, the slinky dog, while not having a major plot role, is featured often and we get to know him as he deals with the woes of keeping his slinky kink-free. My only negative is that the ending is a bit far-fetched but others could see it as sentimental. A fun and light read for pure simple enjoyment.
If you have young readers who love the Toy Story theme, this graphic novel will make them happy. When Andy gets another Buzz Lightyear doll, the toys have to go on an adventure to save their true friend. The illustrations are great and the humor is ideal for any age reader. A great book to show your reluctant reader.
It was ok. Ending seemed a bit convenient, but I suppose there was a good message in there. I prefer the shorter stories to this longer, four-volume story arc.
I LOVED this book. It was so, so good! I don't want to spoil it by giving away any of the plot, but it was amazing! These graphic novel books are a great extension to the series!
