I really enjoyed this installment of the Forgotten Goddesses Series. I mean seriously, what is not to love about a beautiful goddess who becomes the focus of two gorgeous magical werewolves??
Amity, the Etruscan Goddess of Health has the ability to heal, which is why as one of the Forgotten goddesses who no longer has worshipers she has become a medical aesthetist. Amity, by what she believes is pure chance, meets Remy and Rom and has no idea that they are magical in any way. Remy and Rom are cousins and happen to be magical werewolves who are on a mission to hunt down the demons that murdered their families. They know that this same demon wants Amity, what they don't know is why? Once each of them learn the true nature of the others, and the wolves discover Amity is a Goddess things begin to get complicated. One wonderful fun fact is that, like the other goddesses, sex charges Amity's batteries, so to speak. So she has the hardship of having incredible sex with these gorgeous werewolves to maximize her healing power!! These books are a really fun, hot sexy read! They are a fantastic trip into a world of beautiful gods and goddesses, demons, werewolves and all kinds of magical creatures!! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good steamy read!!
****This book was provided to me as an ARC by Netgalley
Amity is the Goddess of Healing, who has long been forgotten by people and no longer worshiped by any. She works as a nurse and enjoys healing people. Then she comes in contact with two gorgeous men, who belong to shapeshifter's group, at a club and was actually trying to protect Amity from a demon. Soon, the three become attracted towards one another and then everything is hot everywhere.
The two male characters are good and gorgeous. Although Amity is portrayed at first as a celibate, she is anything but that. She plays and uses the two men well.
This novel was unexpectedly disappointing. The plot is so bad..in fact, there is no such plot here. If this is just a erotic novel with only 'those' scenes, I accept that I picked it up wrong. But being a part of the series and with the story about the Goddess of Healing, I expected better. The two male leads have some past wounds, but I can't feel their pain in the book. So, the lacking of some emotional connection with the book is what made me lose interest in the book.
If you expect an erotic novel, then pick it up!!! If you are one of whom, who expect some paranormal romance or mythology stuff in the novel, I think you would be disappointed.
This series just keeps getting hotter! Goodness in the Middle is another hit by Stephanie Julian’s fantastic imagination that brings two series together without having to read them all. But once you read one be warned you’ll want them all LOL!
As most of you know I am a sucker for M/F/M ménage, Stephanie doesn’t disappoint with the steamy pages in this book. The M/F/M sex scenes includes it all even anal sex. Oh yeah, time to get the fan out. I can’t blame Amity for wanting to keep her powers and I really can’t blame her when she finds two hot werewolf’s that can keep her powers going by getting between the sheets with them. Amity the goodness of Health has a huge heart, for years she has been taking what little powers she has and helping out in the hospital, so she deserves everything she gets.
Remy and Rom holds some very special powers themselves. Once things start unraveling for them, they start finding out what all they can do again. Before they know it they find themselves a couple of very powerful werewolves.
Strong hero’s and heroine with a fast pace action story that makes you crave more. This is the way reading should be. Recommended for paranormal romance erotic romance lovers!
A goddess sandwiched between two hot men who would do anything to protect her, anything to love her and everything to convince her that theirs is a relationship worth fighting for is only a small part of this exciting and steamy romance by the very talented Ms. Julian.
Amity is a goddess of old but with a very modern and important job as a medical aesthetician. So much has changed in her long life and in this book, it gets a whole lot weirder, not to mention dangerous. It’s not all drama and suspense though. Hunky Rom and Remy are a wonderful distraction for the heroine and at first, that’s all they were. The author presents the heroine as a woman not afraid of sex, but one who embraces it, enjoys it and is able to generate power from the event – eventually. Getting there is half the fun. But Amity is so much more and I enjoyed getting to know her.
Speaking of fun – Ms. Julian cracked me up with her nod to one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride. I love the author’s sense of humor and it is brilliantly showcased at strategic points throughout the story. Even when the plot is at its most suspenseful and dark, Ms. Julian balances the negative conflict with sass and courage using brisk and snappy dialogue that keeps the action flowing at a good clip. That same talent for description and verbal foreplay makes the relationship scenes between her, Remy and Rom seriously delicious and well worth reading a time or two or three. It might be a good thing to have the A/C on high.
It’s not all fun and sexual hijinks, however. There are problems that are inherent in the dynamic of a threesome. Jealousy, assumptions of one’s place in the relationship, miscommunication or stubborn silence verging on martyrdom, all of those issues take turns mixing up the internal angst. I enjoyed how the three of them eventually solve it. I also liked watching how they worked through it while at the same time trying to build a relationship on top of trying to survive this latest attack by Charon, the villain, and a big scary demon. It certainly kept me flipping the pages from chapter to chapter.
Another thing I liked about this book is the author took her time in letting a reader know her characters. The cousins, Remy and Rom, have deep emotional pain, sadness and regret, not to mention a healthy dose of vengeance and retribution to dole out to their enemy. I got a sense of their determination and steadfastness to their cause. I also liked that for the first time in many years, they have hope and it all stems from meeting and falling in love with Amity. It was beautiful yet poignant to see them start to live again. Of course, the crisis and drama that comes before that can happen made for great reading.
As for the villain, Charon, Ms. Julian never does what I expect her to do because I ended up feeling sad for the bad guy! In fact, there’s a hint that perhaps he’s not truly evil, vile and unredeemable but in fact is as tortured a man as any tortured hero I like to read about being saved. Can Charon be saved? Only readers can decide if what I read can be interpreted that way. It certainly is food for thought.
And Sal is back! I like that man-goat. He cracks me up but what was even funnier is both Remy and Rom’s reaction to him. That was a great bit of writing. Add in other secondary characters from previous books and a reader is in for some fun times. I was greatly entertained how the author introduced the new characters to the previous stars of the series. It garnered excitement and furthered the action in the tale. Not only that, but it was great hearing about them again because I loved their stories when they were on center stage. Goddess in the Middle is a standalone read, no question about that but it’s an extra nice treat for readers of the series to see some old friends.
Goddess in the Middle is filled with all my favorite things. It’s a terrific story that has suspense, a bit of intense action, great dialogue, funny moments, and steamy scenes that are so hot the sheets cry ‘uncle’. Amity, Remy and Rom are wonderful together and when they are, it’s magical. I enjoyed the plot twists and surprises, and their verbal exchanges that alternate between sweet, sassy and naughty. I’m also thrilled with the fact that this series has more to offer fans in the future. I look forward to reading about Amity’s sister, Kari. Ms. Julian presented a great hook toward the end of this story, so much so that her next one will be an auto-buy for me. Every book so far in the Forgotten Goddesses series has been a winner. Goddess in the Middle continues the fine tradition of awesome and gripping storytelling with a saucy grin and a wink of mischievous fun while delivering a completely satisfying happily ever after. It’s a book not to miss.
When I saw Goddess in the Middle on the list of books on Netgalley the name and cover drew me to request it. I had never read anything by Stephanie Julian so I got the first 2 books in her Forgotten Goddesses series to get up to date for this one to review. I am very picky about reading books in order and when I was about a ¼ of the way into How to Worship a Goddess I realized that this series takes place in the same world as 2 of her other series. I decided that I would just keep reading this series and then kind of work backward, even if it drove me a little crazy to do. What I found out while reading was that I understood things fine without the entire back story. Stephanie doesn’t recap much at all. The Forgotten Goddesses series can be read on its own without any problems but after reading all the other books in The Lucani Lovers series and her Magical Seduction series I can say that having all the back ground info would have enriched the books that much more. Goddess in the Middle is about Amity and Lucani (werewolf) cousins Remy and Rom. Amity does feel she has to worry about Charun who has been trying to steal the powers of her sister Goddesses in the previous books. She is the Etruscan Goddess of Health and while she has retained more of her power then some of the other Goddesses she just doesn’t feel it’s something that Charun would want. She spends her time helping people at the hospital and not allowing herself to get too attached to humans since she is immortal she has watched too many die. Remy and Rom are hunting the demon that killed their families 20 yrs ago. They follow the demon to Reading Pennsylvania and find that it is stalking a woman who works at the local hospital they decide to try to get her to take them home with her. They don’t realize at the time that she is a Goddess and she just thinks they are looking for a night of fun. Both are in for surprises as all gets revealed. I was really amazed by how much I enjoyed this book. I love a good ménage book and this was a good one. The way she writes her ménages are different then some others I have read because in all of them I have read by her the guys are never sexually interested in each other. The focus is on the woman and who wouldn’t want that. While the heat is there, there is always the emotions that are needed to keep me reading. Remy and Rom both gave something to Amity that the other couldn’t and together the 3 of them were complete. The Mythology in this was kind of new to me and I enjoyed learning something new. For fans of her other Etruscan series she has included a lot of people from those books in this one. Sal plays a large part in the book and is one of my favorite side characters. I would recommend this book to any Erotic PNR reader and even non erotic readers as long as you can handle a little heat in your books. I have this book 4 & ½ stars .
This books heroine, the lovely goddess of healing, Amity, is working as a medical esthetician in a local hospital, using what little powers she has to help humans feel comfort from their pain. Although aware of the recent attacks on other goddesses from the God of the Underworld, Amity feels that her limited power isn't in danger and simply enjoyes her simple life in the world of humans.
Rom and Remy, lucani cousins hell bent on revenge, learn that the demon they are hunting has for some reason targeted the sexy Amity and are watching her from *not too* far across the bar. Feeling an inexplicable draw to this old-world beauty and knowing that it's the best way for them not to miss the demon, they decide to go home with Amity, having no idea the impact this not-so-innocent choice has on their future.
Sparks fly, demons bleed, and hearts mend on this journey, uncovering the lucani's protective instincts and slowly allowing Amity to let down her walls...in the midst of some hot lovin'!
I picked up this book when in need of a sexy, simple read to keep my mind off of the disarray in my house due to the recent move. That being said, I have now added Stephanie Julian to the list of authors that certainly can create an erotic read without skimping on the storyline. This book was SO much more than I expected.
I connected with Amity quickly but even more so with Rom and Remy, both of whom had endured pain and loss and who's lives are a story on their own.
I also enjoyed meeting the other two goddesses, goddess-in-training and their men, who I'm sure were in the first two books in this series. So much so in fact that I am going to buy the first two books and add them to my *way too large* to-read pile.
My only negatives were that the book didn't answer some of my questions about the lucani brothers and their purpose in the story. Furthermore, I didn't feel as though the relationship between the cousins and Amity was explored enough. I wish there was a second book focused just on their developing dynamic and relationship.
Overall, this was a great read - fast-paced with some smokin' sexy time thrown in. Add in a goddess-double-stuffed oreo cookie and it was just one glass of milk away from an Mm Mm good time! ;)
I must say I did not realize this was a part of a series and now I know I need to go grab the rest.
Amity is the Etruscan Goddess of Healing but thru the years she has been steadily losing power but still loves and needs to help those who need it. She is now working as a medical aesthetician. She meets 2 men - Remy and Rom - at a bar and takes them home for a bit of fun... She doesn't realize it but they are both lucani (wolf-shifters) and are also able to command magic that has been prophesied to play a major part in protecting a young-in-her-powers goddess.
Remy and Rom are both incredible men, hot... smexy.... loving... etc etc etc
The scenes with the 3 of them were smoking hot but you can sense very early in the book that there is a true connection between the 3 of them. I really enjoyed the by-play between the cousins and watching Rom finally admit what he wants was a nice treat.
You should check this out and don't worry if you haven't read the others in this series as I never felt like I was missing out on anything. As a matter of fact I didn't know this was part of a series when I requested it from Net Galley and didn't realize it until I looked at the cover and blurb on GR.
Take a chance and enjoy watching the story unfold.. I'm very interested in seeing Kari again and waiting for the side story of her patient and the God in this story.
Special thanks to net galley.com and Sourcebooks Casablanca for letting me read this novel in exchange for an honest review.
LOT's of SEXY mixed with a BUNCH of AWESOME-SAUCE!!!!
(secret) I'm going to be honest during some of the steamy scenes I had to take a Pause for the cause and come back to it later. YES it was that intense (For ME). lol
The story was good. As usual I loved the characters at some point I thought about having me a Remy & Rom together but then realized I'm way too lazy to do anything as awesome as what's written in this book with both guys. It all seems like so much work for me. But it did have me wondering LMAO... Ok onto other things. I'm excited about this series I will honestly say I fell in love with this series all over again. Also Mrs. Julian will have to work hard on her next hero trying to out do Remy & Rom will be a bit difficult.
I am happy no wait I'm ecstatic that Charun is content for now which means that it will be some new twists and adventures in the upcoming books. When I came up on the ending I was a little sad thinking that I would not get to see Remy and Rom but for maybe a mention in the next book. But the ending told me something different and I know that they're story isn't completely over with. Also I was left with the question of whether or not Amity was able to keep her Powers or did she use them up. Guess I'll be tweeting Mrs. Julian soon about that lol...
Overall this book 4.5 stars
Recommending- Hell Yes I've been raving about these books since I first picked them up.
Another great Forgotten Goddess book by Stephanie Julian. I really have enjoyed this series and this story didn’t let me down.
Amity, has lived her life healing people. As a Goddess of Health that is what she is suppose to do. While healing is rewarding something is missing in her life. Love. A chance trip to the local watering hole will forever change Amity’s life in the form of two very hot werewolves.
Remy (Yummy) and Rom (yum) are cousins who have had to fight all their life just to stay alive. They are out for revenge. They are looking for the demon that killed their families. When they find the object of the demon’s desire, they start to follow her just on the odd chance that they will get a chance to kill the demon. What they never planned on was the attraction to the saucy brunette sitting across the bar from them.
This book is STEAMY!!!! I mean how can you go wrong with a Goddess and two very hot Werewolfs. I will say that I like Remy very much. Remy is loving, tender and very caring. Rom on the other hand I had a harder time liking. Rom is stiff, demanding and always thinking. But the three of them together are amazing...
If you have never read a Forgotten Goddess book. You really need too. I would highly suggest this series. I totally love Stephanie and this series.
Amity, the almost forgotten Etruscan Goddess of Health has little power left, but with what little remains she works as an aesthetist. But Charun the god of the Underworld has targeted her next and has started to appear in her dreams, especially when she starts being stalked by a demon. But, is it coincidence when Remy and Rom the lovers she took the night before kill the demon, or are they more then they seem?
I need to cool down a bit after reading this, there is no question that this was a hot read! Full or gorgeous angsty lucani (werewolves) and a goddess making the filling in a very delicious sandwich. The sex was well written, hot and dirty, the literally made their woman pass out! Although sometimes the lust did feel a little out of place, even in tense life and death situations they seemed to be thinking about sex.
Although I enjoyed this book, I do sometimes feel I am getting lost in all the names, events and peoples in it. Ms Julian has built up a rich world and I think it helps if you have read a few more of her other books so you can get a feel of her world and her background characters.
Overall I did enjoy this book, I like the idea of the fading godesses and I look forward to reading the next in the series.
Book Description: Amity, the Goddess of Health, works as a medical aesthetist, using her remaing goddess powers to help people heal their spirits. Her profession soon brings two masculine Etruscan werewolves, Remy and Rom, into her life. The two werewolves have been searching for a woman powerful enough to handle both of them, but they've never met a woman strong enough...until they meet Amity. Toegether they must use the power generated by their love to kill a vicious demon and keep him locked away forever, or risk losing everything.
My Thoughts: I very much enjoyed this story. Although it was a ménage romance, it was not an erotic romance with excessive sex and no story. Quite the contrary, this ménage romance was grounded by a great story and well developed characters. Ms. Julian did a wonderful job creating a world that had elemental traces of Greek mythology. I liked the characters and their personalities paired well together. Amity was a perfect balance for Remy, the light-hearted, and Rom, the brooding. The story was interesting and paced well. I look forward to finding out what happens with Perrin and Charun.
Although I'm not a big fan of M/F/M, I do occasionally enjoy a good trio. This story is definitely one of those rare "good trio" books for me. Rom and Remy are unique and rare werewolves with powers that few know about. Enter Amity, a goddess whose life is in danger, and you have an adventure both in and out of bed.
I liked Amity's character. She has a big heart and wants to use what little power she has left to help heal those in need. Rom and Remy were typical strong, sexy werewolf shifters, but with an edge . . . they were more magical than norm, and with a big secret. I enjoyed reading this story, and felt that most of it was written quite well. There were a few parts that I felt did not flow quite as well as I would have liked, but overall was a great read, with hot steamy men, and enough danger, mystery and intrigue to keep most readers interested through to the end.
I read this out of order BUT it didn't make me lost in the series. I can't wait to get my hands on the others.
Amity is a goddess losing her powers, until she meets werewolf cousins Romulus and Remus and begins to get her power restored. Someone, unfortunately, is after Amity.. and he's not being nice about it.
For a menage story this one rocked your notions that it's all about sex. It's not for this threesome, and the growth and love that they learn from each other makes it all that much more strong of a relationship. I really enjoyed learning the differences of the guys, of what about each of them made Amity "tick".
review to come. I really enjoyed this installment of the forgotten goddesses. it packs an erotic punch from beginning to end but this one is more emotional then the previous book. Id give it a 4.5 erotica standards.
Being flanked on both sides by trusted, strong individuals is one of the best positions to find yourself. Especially having two tall, broad shouldered, powerful men, ruggedly handsome with battle scars, tight, ripped bodies as protectors. Champion Lucani with the finest, sharpest senses, combat ready are there for Lady Amity Goddess of Healing. Beside her and often in front of the goddess are Remy and Rom young and virile. What a lucky woman!!
Goddess in the Middle composed by Stephanie Julian is a mythical, provocative, sensual, narrative loaded with paranormal activities. Ms. Julian's book by no means lack in the sensuality category, is a fast-pace read which kept me riveted for a couple of hours.
Ms. Julian provides background knowledge from the various roles of goddesses of past millenniums infiltrating the future to current times by mentioning everyday television shows. Using this technique to connect the past and present settings is brilliantly done in my opinion. Goddess in the Middle encompasses lifestyles in multiple places found between worlds such as the dream plane.
Ms Julian's main characters are eloquently described: Lady Amity the Goddess of Healing, the guardians Remy, Rom who just so happen to be cousins and wolves. Rom and Remy become endearing as protectors of Amity and occasionally her sister goddesses. I fell in love with Remy and Rom's personalities making it easy to connect with them. Ms. Julian's supporting cast critical, well defined players and without: Sal, Cole, Lady Kari, and the King of Etruscan of the Lucani werewolves the story would lack its robust body that a good read must possess. Although there a numerous sub-characters: Tessa, Lucy, Charun, Cal and Young Cathen the Goddess of the Moon and others; along with several setting changes the story is not overwhelming. Ms. Julian's keenly placed characters utilizes their roles in an extremely uncomplicated manner and provides readers with stimulating interactions. Goddess in the Middle has all of the appealing story elements stimulating every sensory receptors in powerful ways. Ms. Julian profound descriptions of people, places, events keeps the narrative from becoming stagnant as Goddess in the Middle has plenty of representations of physical activity.
I enjoyed the realistic human qualities manifest by the characters in Goddess in the Middle. The plot, conflict and resolution are aptly depicted. I found Goddess in the Middle well written with rich vocabulary that draws the reader into the book from its title to the very last page. This book is written only for a mature audience who delight in explosive paranormal romance, suspense, generous sprinkles of risque behaviors that invigorate and titillate. I look forward to finding more of Ms. Julian's work because I suspect her other books will captivate me from beginning to end as Goddess in the Middle. I am confident that readers will experience the highly charged, energetic atmosphere Stephanie Julian brings to the page.
This is the third installment in Stephanie Julian’s Goddess Series. Amity is the goddess of health but it has been a long time since she has been worshiped so people have forgotten who she is so her powers are fading. She works at a hospital helping when she can without drawing attention to herself because she loves what she does and would never give up her powers.
Rom and Remy are cousins and they are Lucani wolf shifters. They were always able to talk to each other through their minds and they learned to cast spell together which made them different from other Lucani's which is why both their parents left the Den as soon as they realized who they were because they knew they were in danger of being killed they were too powerful. Rom and Remy feel guilty for their families’ deaths because when they were younger they left the safety of their home and their families were attacked and killed. They have been hunting down the Tukhulkha demon for the past 20 years looking for the one who murdered their families while the demon tries to capture them. The demon wants them because of the prophecy because they are the rare and most powerful of the Lucani.
Charun a god of the underworld was still after the goddesses trying to get out of the underworld by stealing their powers. When Rom and Remy got the lead that Goddess Amity was next on the list they went to protect her and to find the Tukhulkha demon they were looking for. Rom and Remy agreed if the only way to get close to her was to sleep with her so be it. If they couldn't do it together they would be fine if only one of them was chosen by her and the other would stay close. When Amity spotted Rom and Remy at the bar she couldn't believe they were interested in her. She was a Goddess but not the Goddess that men flocked to. She had curves and she was no super model. But it has been so long since she just enjoyed sex that she decided to just go up to them and ask if they wanted to go back to her place together.
When Amity asked Rom and Remy to go back to her place together they couldn't believe it. Now they just had to find a way to stay with her long enough so nothing happened to her. But they never intended for both of them to have feelings for her. Amity couldn't believe she like both these guys different but still the same and wanted to be with them. But it's hard to get close to someone when someone else is trying to kill you.
I Love this series it's a completely new world that brings you to love every one of the characters. I love how Rom and Remy both interact with each other. Their personalities play off each other so well. I also love that Amity is not a model perfect Goddess and the guys love her anyway. I would love to be the sandwich between them. You learn what Rom and Remy want out of life and what they are missing. Will Rom and Remy get the Demon that killed their family and if so what will they do after? But don't forget all her other characters from the other two books are there. Catene, what will happen with her new powers she got from Goddess Lucy. I just love it!!

My Rating: 4 stars: Enjoyed - strongly recommend (A-)
The third book in Ms. Julian’s Forgotten Goddesses series opens with Amity Monroe letting off some steam with a coworker at a local bar. Amity is also known by some as Munthukh, the Etruscan Goddess of Health. Amity continues to use her dwindling powers for healing as a medical aesthetician - helping cancer patients and burn victims regain some of their physical appearance. It’s at this bar that cousins Rom and Remy catch the eye of Amity, and she decides it’s time to have some fun.
Rom and Remy are magical lucani - wolf shifters - on the run for years ever since their families were killed by the evil Mal (think paranormal crime family). While they are meant to fulfill some sort of prophecy, Rom and Remy only want revenge and the opportunity to kill the demon that murdered their families. Knowing that the demon is after Amity, they decide to spend time with her, hoping for a chance to avenge their family.
First of all, I want to say that Goddess in the Middle is not only the HOTTEST book in Ms. Julian’s series to date, but also the best. It is an exciting and sexy romance, full of action, emotion, and danger. I breezed through this story - hardly putting it down.
The sexual chemistry between Amity, Remy and Rom was spectacular. But it was more than that... not only was their relationship incredibly hot--from m/f pairings to full-on menage sex--it was more than sex... it was emotion. Ms. Julian does a superb job making this erotic tale more about the developing love between two men and one woman than simply hot sex. But again, the smex is smokin’!! I enjoyed that throughout the story, the cousins work through their concerns about where this threesome is heading, and all three end up with much more than a few hot nights. The story is lusty and sensual, but simply romantic.
The overall plot continues to revolve around Charun, the Etruscan God of the Underworld, and his attempts to steal power from his sister goddesses in hopes of breaking free from the underworld. Amity and her twin Kari are warned that one of them will be his next target, and certain enough Amity is attacked that night. But we witness a new side of Charun, which has significant impacts to the story arc. However, there is a new twist with the involvement of an evil, mafia-like group, the Mal. They are after Rom and Remy because of the power they hold, and they aren’t above using Amity and Kari to get what they want. We also are brought up to speed on some of the couples and changes that occurred in the first two books.
Overall, I really enjoyed how this story unfolded and played out. Sexy. Exciting. Suspenseful. I hope there is a next story soon because there are definitely some loose ends that need to be resolved. However, the book can be enjoyed by new-comers to the series. Goddess in the Middle is an incredibly erotic, unconventional, romantic love story, and it is most certainly worth the read.
Goddess In The Middle is the next book in the Forgotten Goddesses series by Stephanie Julian. I still haven’t gotten around to book one, but I did read book two, How To Worship a Goddess. These are standalone books, you don’t have to read the previous. But as with nearly all series, reading the previous books only helps build the world that Ms. Julian has created and makes the story that much more enjoyable!
This story focuses on Amity, the Etruscan Goddess of Health. In the present Amity works in a hospital where she can put whats left of her healing powers to use. But her powers are also diminishing as time goes on. But Amity has a way she can recharge – good old fashioned sex. Sounds to me like Amity has it made!
Cousins Rom and Remy are also Etruscan, and they are hunting a demon. That very same demon seems to be hunting Amity – except Amity doesn’t realize this at first. Rom and Remy introduce themselves to Amity, and the sparks fly. There is no denying the heat between the three of them. I mean seriously, it is hot. Amity brings the two of them home for a night of fun. And of course, one thing leads to another…
Both of these men are so… wounded. They need her to help them. Not with her powers or her status, but with her love. And the love that grows between this trio is superb. These guys might be wounded and hunting for years, but they are so full of heart that it just bursts off the pages. Remy is a bit easier to show his and Rom has a wall, but when he lets his caring side come through it shines like a beacon. Honestly, I liked book two better than this book. But the relationship between Amity, Remy and Rom is what made me keep reading this book. And I should also mention that if you are looking for some spicy hot ménage scenes, Stephanie Julian definitely does not disappoint with Goddess In The Middle. The sex scenes in this story were toe curlers, indeed!
Charun is still after the goddesses, he wants to escape the underworld. And he is getting closer to reaching his goal. The demons he sends out to do his dirty work are definitely powerful. The action scenes are really very good.
But in this story it’s the characters that shine, alone and together. I believe there are more books coming in this series because there are more Goddesses. However when I look on Stephanie’s website, I don’t see any listed. I will definitely keep an eye out for more. I love this world that the author has created and her writing his beautiful. And let’s not forget incredibly hot. This is the second book I’ve read by this author, and I have a bunch more on my Kindle. I think they are definitely going to get bumped up on the list!
Review to come, but I was thoroughly entertained by this story. This is one of those erotic stories that make me proud to read the genre. The writing and the story were so good even without the erotic elements. That was just icing on the cake. :)
GODDESS IN THE MIDDLE, the latest in the Forgotten Goddess series, is paranormal romance at its best! With a fascinating story, a pair of sexy heroes, and a heroine that I could relate to, I'm left trying to figure out why in the heck I'm just now getting started with this series.
Amity is the Goddess of Health although these days she's using what little power she has left to help heal humans in a local hospital, but little does she know that someone is out to drain the rest of her powers away.
Rom and Remy are werewolf cousins who have been hunting for the demon who killed their family for years. That demon happens to be after Amity, so they set their sights on her to protect her. When they meet, the attraction between Amity and the two men is immediate and they end up in bed together.
Sleeping with Rom and Remy give Amity more power than she ever imagined, but there are forces working that could destroy the trio just as they begin to discover how right they are together.
I loved this story. The roots of it are in mythology and I have always found that fascinating. The world building surrounding that mythology seemed so real that I was instantly transported there. I was so drawn in I was loath to leave.
The characters though are what made this book for me. I absolutely adored Rom and Remy. Their personalities were so different but they completely complemented each other and their combined attributes made them such a perfect fit for Amity. Amity herself was a hoot. I loved her snark, but she also had such an amazing amount of compassion that you couldn't help but love her.
GODDESS IN THE MIDDLE is the third book in the Forgotten Goddess series, and it could be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the other books in the series yet, and I didn't feel lost. However, I enjoyed this story so much, I will definitely be reading the other books in the series. I love when the erotic books I prefer to read are just so good that I would read it whether it had the smoking hot sex I love or not. GODDESS IN THE MIDDLE is the perfect example of this.
This is my first book by Stephanie Julian, but I must say that it will not be my last. She's a fantastic storyteller, and GODDESS IN THE MIDDLE kept me entertained from beginning to end!
Amity was once worshiped as the Goddess of Health along with her sister, when the Etruscan ruled what is now modern day Italy. Today se serves the people by being a medical aesthician healing those she can without their knowledge, doing her best to use the last of her powers to aide those who need her the most. Much like her sisters she find herself being hunted and by chance meets two of the best warriors of the werewolves. I have never read any of Ms Julian's writings before, and I will be remedying that as soon as possible, her writing is beautiful and flowed well, strong characters who aren't stereotypical.
I enjoyed the mythology of this world and even though i hadn't read the other books, I was entranced and pulled into it, each character that was introduced made me want to read the previous books and anymore that are coming out especially X and the king of the Underworld. I kind of guessed what he wanted long before the author started sharing little bits about him, (I had read another book about the God of the underworld and I loved it) so this book only endeared him to me, although his methods leave much to be desired.
The love story that builds pulls you in, engages your emotions so much that by the end your rooting for them, hoping that the characters realized that they needed each other. Rom was the most reluctant until he realized that Amity needed them as much as they needed her and then he was all ofr it; Remy knew right from the start that he wasn't leaving her and he needed his cousin to realize they both needed her as much as she needed both of them. Poor Amity couldn't see how much she needed them at first, until they set about showing her, and boy did they show her.
I enjoyed that the action didn't take a backseat to the love story and the love story wasn't pushed beneath the story's continuation of the series. This book could stand on it's own, you didn't need to read the others to appreciate it. I loved this story, Amity, Remy and Rom made for a wonderful story, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series, especially X's and the Underworld King's stories *hint hint*
*****FTC guidelines states i must make you aware I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a honest review******
This third book in the Forgotten Goddesses series packs a punch,
is more emotional then the previous book
How to Worship a Goddess
and it's double the pleasure. Threesomes have always been one of my favorites to read about. The main characters Amity, and her lovers Rom and Remy are great characters and incredible sexy - "Very believable *uche uche*... Why don't I ever come across guy like that... oh right i'm married. Never mind where was I? eeeh!"Goddess in the Middle...Is a great read! But i have to say I missed a little of good plot and some emotional connection
here and there! But i'm not complaining the hot steamy sex made it up to me. At the end there was a little teaser/
cryptic prophecy. I am a little curious to know where where that is going. I will be waiting for book 4.
Watch out, contains:
***m/f/m ménage including anal sex scenes*** if your not in to this kind of reads, it is not for you!
My Review: And the plot thickens...This is the third book in the Forgotten Goddesses series. This erotic series has a great balance of mythology and sexy lucani werewolves. In this series, the Etruscan goddesses are losing their power more and more as they become more and more forgotten by the world. But that hasn't stopped Charun, the God of the Underworld, from attacking them to try and steal their powers. His latest target is Amity the Goddess of Health. She has settled into the human world and works as a healthcare provider, healing in little bits and spurts where she can with her floundering powers.
But Charun's focus has brought a demon after her. He just happens to be a demon that Rom and Remy are chasing after because he killed their families. That brings them to Amity....a plus since the Goddesses are empowered by sex and since these two guys are seriously powerful lucani, they infuse her with a really powerful surge.
There is lots of really great things happening in this book. Rom and Remy have spent years running and focused on revenge. They're powerful so that means lots of people would like to get hold of them. They both have mental scars from their experiences, but those are eased around Amity. They also share a mental bond and I loved that aspect of the story. The three of them together have some amazing chemistry and there was enough angst to keep me happy.
The overall arching story line of the series took an interesting twist in this book and I'm excited to see where it goes....both with Charun and Cat have really promising stories going on. I need to go check Stephanie's website and see whose story is coming up next. I'm also really interested in X...I don't remember seeing too much of him in the first two books. It's all good and I continue to love this series. It's fun and entertaining and really super-sexy.
Starts with Rom and Remy. I loved the names. I am a huge history nut. If you know the story of Romulus and Remus, you get my point! The two are werewolves (again ha ha). So you learn, magic and werewolves only happen every so many generations. In this family it happens to 2 cousins. Rom and Remy are both powerful werewolves in there own right. With the magic they both can wield, deadly. There is a prophecy, 2 werewolves with magic and a goddess, would help usher in a new era. With this knowledge, their families hide the brothers, because people want to use them for their own purposes. It does nothing to stop the slaughter of their families. So the cousins are looking for vengeance. Which brings them to Amity's door. Amity is the goddess of Health. She works in a hospital and heals badly burned patients. She is in a bar and is loony. Her and a friend (another goddess) see 2 men and they are watching Amity. Amity doesn't know it but a evil god from the underworld in stealing goddess powers to escape the underworld. Which makes Amity a target. This is why Remy and Rom are tailing Amity. SO the goal is to get Amity into bed (they don't care which one of them do it), so they can get close to Amity and her situation. They know the person chasing Amity, is the same person who is responsible for the deaths of their families.
The story was extremely well done. Loved Rom, Remy and Amity. WARNING a MMF scenes. The only issue I had and it may be in the hard copies, is the different gods got confusing. I know the basic gods and goddess but they had several others I had no clue who they were. Other than that the story was great. I would love to read others by the author and even in the series!
Once worshipped by many, Amity is the forgotten Etruscan Goddess of Healing. Now what little is left of her powers she uses to treat badly scarred and damaged patients in a mortal hospital. Someone has a made her a target though. Goddesses are in danger and Amity is next on the list.
Remy and Rom are cousins and wolf shifters with very special and rare abilities. Thus, they are hunted. Their families went into hiding to protect them. Unfortunately, one night a demon tracked their families and murdered them. Now the cousins are out to avenge their death. For the past twenty years they’ve hunted the demon responsible. Now they have a lead. The demon has been sent to kidnap Amity. They plan to use her as bait to draw the demon out and exact their revenge. They didn’t plan however, on finding her irresistibly attractive.
Hot, steamy ménage read! Wow, seriously who wouldn’t want to be the meat in a werewolf sandwich! Amity has never connected with anyone else the way she connects with Remy and Rom. They are both so different. Where one is loving and tender, the other is rough and demanding. Together they are a complete package. The attraction from the start is undeniable. It lit the pages on fire when they got together. Aside from the hot and steamy, real feelings develop. I really liked this story and honestly had no clue it was part of a series. I need to go back now and read from the beginning. It was perfectly okay to read out of order. I was not lost one bit. Each story looks like it can stand alone.

This book was good, not great. This is the first book I have read in the Forgotten Goddesses series, and I'm sure that limited my enjoyment. As a stand-alone book the story was a little lacking because I didn't have any back story. If I had known it was part of a series when I began reading, I would have gone back to book number one.
In this book Amity, one of the forgotten goddesses, is being stalked for her powers. When she is attacked by a demon she is rescued by two brave and handsome men that she recently met in a bar. What Amity doesn't know is that her meeting Rom and Remy was calculated by them because they were after the demon that they knew was coming after Amity.
What none of them expected was to become so attracted to one another so quickly. Amity wanted a quick fling to gather some strength and power, and Rom and Remy just wanted to kill the demon. But, none of them are able to easily walk away. And once the truth starts surfacing they have an ever harder time walking away. Rom and Remy realize Amity is a goddess and she discovers that the cousings are actually powerful werewolves. Rom and Remy have been in hiding because of their powers and the number of people who would kill them for that. Now that they are with Amity they decide it is time to stop hiding and fulfill the prophecy they were destined for.
This is the newest book in the Forgotten Goddesses Series and just like the last two this one was a great read. If you haven't started on this series you really need too. This story is about Amity, goddess of health, and her two lovers Remy and Rom. Remy and Rom are cousins, werewolves and wizards who have been looking out for each other for their whole lives after their parents left the pack because of a prophecy regarding them. They always just looked out for each other until they meet Amity. She has a demon after her and they vow to protect her. With the power she gets from making love with Remy and Rom she is able to do unbelievable things with her healing powers.
I was a little unsure about this book when I first read about it because I'm not normally into menage but this story was totally unexpected and I really enjoyed it. The author does a great job of developing the relationships to were it seems very realistic and comfortable. So, if your new to menage I think this would be a great place to start. Having said that, I would recommend this book to erotica and paranormal romance fans. This series is a must read!
I have said it once and I will say it again I love Stephanie Julian's work. The only reason that this book didn't get 5 out of 5 is because it didn't have as much action outside the bedroom that How to Worship a Goddess had in it. That being said it still knocked my socks off.
I have been thinking of Amity as being the most innocent one of all the Forgotten Goddesses, but after this I will have to amend that just a little. In a lot of ways she is but when it comes to the bedroom antics she is just like you would expect someone to be after living for so long, no hangups about who she is in or out of the bedroom.
I loved the fact that the "most innocent" goddess is the one who fell in love with 2 men. I also love that Stephanie ends the book with enough info to leave the reader satisfied and at the same time anticipating what's to come.
Amity was once known as the Goddess of Health. Now that she is a forgotten one she works as an aesthetician. She has a demon on her trial and werewolves Romulus and Remus aim to protector her and with any lucky get Amity into their bed.
This third book in the Forgotten Goddesses series packs a punch and it's double the pleasure. Threesomes aren't always my favorite combination to read about, but Rom and Remy are great characters and incredible sexy - that it didn't really matter. I loved it! Rom, Remy and Amity make a great trio. Goddess in the Middle will make an excellent summer read. It's a sensual, absorbing story - that will leave you wanting more.
if you have threesome fantasies then you can live it vicariously through Amity, I didn't even think I have one until this! And to set your expectations, Amity, Rom and Remy did every threesome activity you've probably seen watching porn. I'm not well versed in threesome activities but Amity sure wasn't shy nor was she afraid to revisit THAT side of her sexuality. After all, she had lived through the Roman Empire and the 19th century England had much been so much more debauched than one might think. Suffice to say there were a lot of double stuffing that went on.
Goddess in the Middle wasn't everything I expected it to be. An erotic read with romance for sure, but there was very little depth to the characters and that was a big game changer for me. I need to feel the character's emotions in order to get me invested in a story, but GitM just fell flat after their first tryst and I couldn't find myself wanting to keep reading. Though I will say it has a good story behind it that would have been interesting to learn more about.
