Set in the distant future. Justin Chronos was only twenty
when he died--over five hundred years later he is being brought back to life.
Not only is he offered the opportunity at a second chance of life but before
him is a world where everything seems beyond belief. Justin is elated as he enters
a drastically new realm filled with amazing technology, beautiful architecture,
and a society of where sex, drugs, and partying are the norm. But Justin's
inquisitive personality causes him to question how such a perfect world could
have emerged from the flawed and dysfunctional planet he was born. As he begins
to search for these answers and looks into the mystery behind his death, the
entire illusion begins to fall apart.

I am currently slogging my way through this mess. Usually, I'd finish a book this length in a day or two, but I have to keep putting it down because of the poor writing.

Thankfully, it was a "free" kindle book-you get what you pay for, right? However, I've found some really good books...not this one though!

The author doesn't have a grasp on grammar, punctuation, or idioms to write a decent novel. The premise may be interesting, but the awful writing, non-stop mistakes in grammar and usage make it impossible to read without distraction.

"Justin lied down..."WHAT?? "Take for granite" (more than once), rarely will you find a possessive apostrophe s; words completely misused; and the use of 'anyways'-brilliant people wouldn't say that; they would use "anyway" if they chose to use that at all. These are just the mistakes that keep repeating...ad nauseum. Trust me, there's more. (Oh, the use of too/to and their/there escapes the author as well).

I'm about 2/3 of the way through, and now there are semi-colons everywhere, which make zero sense.

Painful, painful, PAINFUL read. Needs the hand of a competent editor...and perhaps the author needs to go back to middle school English class....

The author isn't skilled enough to bring his concept to life, and shows almost every pitfall an indie book can have.

Welcome to the world of Perfect. It's a future city where war, crime, and even physical imperfection is a thing of the past. A young man named Justin Chronos died in the 20th century and is Restored here for a purpose unknown to him. It makes no sense, because in a world where everyone is Perfect, why do they need someone like him? But he is linked to Perfect in ways he has yet to know, and the revelation will shock him.

There's too many flaws to make the premise enjoyable. Jonathan doesn't have a good ear for writing. This is from the second paragraph in the book:

She entered through the main entrance, a set of doors that blended in with the metal exterior of the building, which automatically parted on her stepping up; creating the illusion that the walls themselves, of this ultramodern masterpiece were separating.

It's like this the entire book. Bad punctuation, passive voice, redundancy, poor grammar, and more combine to make a book that is like singing off-key; it never sounds right, and constantly distracts you from making out what he is trying to say. This isn't getting into typical word processor malapropisms (Taken for granite) and formatting errors that render a section of text all in italics. Or getting into how the people don't act or speak like real people would. One of the reviewers mentioned their disgust at seeing "fucking" so much, but it's hilarious because it's so out of place when they do. Especially when the prim doctor who Restores Justin does so one time.

The plot takes forever to get started, and you'll probably toss the book down far before then. It's sad because there are a few interesting ideas in here, and in the hands of a competent writer you'd have an decent book. Would you tolerate a Movement that acted ruthlessly in the past if it delivered a current, perfect, worry-free future? How would you react if people were so liberated and beautiful that you always felt out of place and uncomfortable? Those ideas can't save the book though. Pass on this.

I liked the concept of the book - how would life change when people live much longer and currency is unnecessary? Unfortunately, my overall opinion of the book is not great. I didn't like the ending - I thought it was completely out of character.

Also - MANY terrible editing errors. If the author happens to see this, PLEASE make the following corrections:

The expression is "take it for granted." Granite is a stone.
Diamonds are measured in "carats." Carrots are food.
You put a "stake" in the heart. Steak is a food.

Gag. I actually liked the plot concept a lot. However, the execution was sorely lacking. I couldn't get into the writing. And honestly, we're still dropping the fbomb in 2500? Sorry, but after seeing it no less than 5 times in the first 10th of the book, I was done.

It's good and all, but I just could NOT get over the missing apostrophes....Did the editor even go over it? I had to put it down (not like an animal...well kinda) and give up on it entirely.

This book raised some interesting questions about basic human needs but was a bit shallow & simplistic.

Very poor writing. The premise is good, but it is written like a bored teenager wrote it. Way too much gratuitous sex that had little to do with the plot.
