It made me want to read it...but the ending was not what I was expecting. I don't know what I actually expected. But it wasn't very good. What the last scene had to do with the entire book, I don't know.
I liked everything except the final two chapters. That is to say that I thought the ending was rather weak. I could gather no clear conclusion as to the "why" of this story, or even the "what happened." It's like one of those movies where after two hours of an involved plot, the protagonist stares into the horizon as the picture fades to black, leaving you to wonder. I want a friggin ending! You're the author, not me.
"I wanna like this. The story is good, but poor writing takes away the enjoyment of the piece. It's just not well written. I can't get through the narrative with it at its current state. I would recommend that the author reaching out to a professional editor or fellow author. "
I really enjoyed most of this book. It’s wonderfully suspenseful; the kind of story that promises an epic ending. Except “blacke” failed to deliver. Nothing was explained, despite Blacke’s direct statement to Leslie that he’ll explain everything when he came back inside. It really felt like the author didn’t know how to end the story so it just sort of randomly stops. It certainly isn’t a cliffhanger.

This novel was like a mystical suspense articulately written and ominous! Mr. Blacke truly indeed may have been cursed, or just a great damn writer. I do believe for all his accomplishments he deserved peace and love after so many tragedies following his writing career.
The book was a great buildup to nothing. It definitely ended with a whimper, almost as if the author got tired of writing it and gave up. It could have used some editing and the ending was a complete copout.
This book is such a cool mystery about a world famous writer who experiences evil karma every time some success comes his way. Wonderful details and a real page turner. Leaves you guessing and wanting to learn more about the unpredictable Mr. Blacke. I highly recommend this engaging story and hope there will be a sequel coming.
