There were some really good stories in here. I will definitely be looking into stories by the other authors, but I mostly purchased this book for Jaid Black's John Calder story. LOVED ITTTT!! World's worst stripper, acknowledgement of H needing a serious grovel/rejection.... Loved both the H and h and I am so glad that he finally got a hea. Can't wait for more from Jaid!

Overall, the rating was a 3*, and here's why (I'll skip the summaries),

#1: "Captain of Nara's Heart" -Laurann Dohner (5*)
I love Dohner. She's fabulous. And this is my favorite story in this anthology. It's marvelously written, very hawt, with a good and seemingly legit backstory/world. Great, great, great.

#2: "Dragon Heat" -Mel Teshco (2.5*)
Uhm...I have no attachment to this story. The best I can muster is indifference. It certainly wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything to write home about, either. Was it sexy? Yes. Was it a bit flat? A bit.

#3: "Dangerous Addiction" -Desiree Holt (2.5*)
Meh. Again, mustered indifference.

#4: "Highland Tryst" -Eliza Knight (3*)
This is certainly more interesting than the previous two stories. Typically I find myself leery of Scottish/Highland stories: at one point or another in her career, nearly every romance writer tries to cobble together a Scottish/Highland romance with nothing more than an accent, a kilt, and a marvelously-proportioned alpha male. And few are a success. (Consider one success story: Jackie Ivie's "Lady of the Knight")

#5: "Tattoo Witch" -Kathy Kulig (1.5*)
I really want to give this more stars because the premise is so awesome. However, I skipped through this. All told, I didn't read much of it. The characters didn't interest me at all, and I think I boiled it down pretty well, but this means I skipped a lot of detail. However, I have no interest in going back to re-read.

#6: "The Addiction" -Jaid Black (0*)
I have had zero success with Black stories in the past. Perhaps her style simply isn't my cup of tea? Also, I haven't read "The Possession," to which "The Addiction" is apparently the sequel. Let that guide you, and take this with a grain of salt: I read maybe 5 words then stopped. I had zero interest in continuing.

All-in-all, a 3* rating wasn't enough to convince me to keep this anthology around. I returned it and, aside from the beginning Dohner story, I can't say that I'll miss any of them.

When reading anthologies, I like stories that aren't too messy. I want the characters and plot to flow together well. I need a well-rounded character where I get where they are coming from. Most importantly, when I finish a story I want to read more about them.

Captain of Nara's Heart by Laurann Dohner
For the length this was a really good story that showed who Nara and Vellar are and how they got to where they are. There were also some sweet moments when Vellar was hesitant to go all the way as he didn't want to harm Nara. The story did jumped from day 1 to day 3 making it seem a bit fast but the relationship never felt rushed. I guess the time skipped helped because you see that contrast of how they were when they first met to when they had to part.

Dragon Heat by Mel Teshco
I liked the premise but I felt the plot was too complicated for the length. If this was a full length book where the author had more time to explain certain aspects, I might have enjoyed it more. As it was the story was a bit boring. There was a lot of running and talking and not much time for the two leads to get to know each other. It's hard when you are trying to not get caught or killed to invest in your relationship so I wasn't feeling the love they had for each other.

Dangerous Addiction by Desiree Holt
The plot wasn't anything out of the ordinary and was simple for the length...yet it WORKED. The story flowed well and I got a good sense of who the characters are. There is some BDSM but it made me want to curl up on a couch with a blanket and snuggle. It gave me sweet feelings. I felt like going "awwwww" cause Colt was being too cute. This is a new author for me but I'll definitely be checking out her other works.

Highland Tryst by Eliza Knight
I wanted to like this one but the time travel threw me and I never came back. It confused me so much as I was trying to figure out why/how that I didn't really pay attention to the rest of the story. I don't have anything against time travel but it has to make sense. Unfortunately in this story, it was used so Fin can met Kari. Which is fine but why only Fin? How did she not send someone else back and how did she get her power? So many questions with no answers. Other then that, I liked how Kari went about proving if Fin's story was true. I also like how Fin assimilated to modern society. I do wish there was more disbelief on both ends but for the length, it went well. I'm just still very confused on the time traveling.

Tattoo Witch by Kathy King
In terms of genre this was a bit darker then the other stories so it was a nice change. The story IS interesting. Unfortunately this was my least favorite because I HATE books with misunderstandings because the main leads didn't or can't communicate with each other. It's a pet peeve of mine and tend to color the book in a bad light for me so I'll just leave it at that.

Addiction by Jaid Black
This story was sweet. I could definitely feel the exhaustion John had and how Shelli could appeal to him. The only downside is I wished there was more one-on-one getting to know you conversations so John didn't come off as a stalker. If this was told another way he would definitely be creepy. It would also cement thise feeling they had besides that brief moment and then that one night they had together.

Get ready for a wild ride with chills and thrills because six authors are going to take your mind on a roller coaster of adventure as they explore the spicier side of romance and passion.

Captain of Nara’s Heart
By Laurann Dohner is all about being in the wrong place at the right time. I thought the premise to be incredibly sexy and well done. It didn’t beat me over the head with sex scene after sex scene. After the first incredible and well described event, the story focused on the growing love Nara had for Cathian. She got to know the man behind the body and the mind behind his very talented tongue. I was charmed as to how strong-willed the hero was, to the point that he’d deny his heart because he wanted to protect her. I was equally impressed with Nara’s ultimate determination to chart her own course and grab the brass ring even if she had to hog-tie someone to do it. I loved the ending: basically he was wrong, she was right and because of Nara’s stubbornness, they get their happily ever after. Women really do know what’s best for their men.

Dragon Heat
By Mel Tescho has a bit more action and drama to spice things up. It’s a story about a woman being duped and, whether by accident or design, discovers the truth when she falls in love. It’s a great paranormal story with plenty of interesting tidbits about dragons and their capabilities. The tale also has a nasty villain that truly is scary because he had such power. Dragon Heat’s other accomplishment is that it made me want to know more about this dragon world that the author has created. There’s a bigger picture out there because someone has to free the captive ‘pets’ from their brainwashed state. This is certainly a sexy and well told story and is one of the reasons why I enjoy anthologies. I discover new authors and new interests and this short paranormal romance has captured my imagination. I’m hoping that maybe there’ll be another undiscovered dragon as hunky and as yummy as Benson, the hero in this story. Now that’s something worth investigating.

Dangerous Addiction
By Desiree Holt is for the romance reader who likes to be seduced by the BDSM lifestyle. It’s actually pretty well done with a wonderful buildup to Cord and Fallon’s relationship. There’s the emotional vulnerability from Fallon and the need to heal and dominate and love from Cord. The ending is more of a happily for now as the story is more about their meeting and Fallon finally agreeing to leave her past behind by trusting Cord. It’s powerful, romantic and quite sensual. The way this installment was delivered, and how the characters were written, has created an avid curiosity to find out what it’s going to take to heal Fallon’s trauma completely, and how will Cord eventually reward her for giving her all to him. As it is, this tale ends with optimism and hope for their future. And, based on this little snippet, I bet it’s going to be powerfully sexy and entertaining. What fun!

Highland Tryst
By Eliza Knight starts off pretty dramatic and then does a fast switch into giggles. From there it was sizzle and pop with a hunky Highlander and I had a ton of fun reading this very sensual and exciting tale. Ms. Knight was very inventive in how the hero and heroine explored their passion and I got a kick out of the choices the author made when it came to introducing Fin to the modern world. The part that had me giggling all over again was what the author decided to have the hero do for a job. It’s actually pretty cool but at the same time, imagining a solid, old-world Scottish warrior doing that kind of work gave me delicious goose bumps. What a terrific idea! This is a well told and thoroughly entertaining story with a delightful romance to satisfy any reader.

Tattoo Witch
By Kathy Kulig opens up with a sexy but definitely sinister edge. The set up is innocent enough but very quickly turns scorching with elements of fear and anger to spice up the action. Not everything that sounds good is good. Yes, there is some incredible skin on skin action, even a brief stint with another couple. The writing was vivid and it captured the heated passion that drove the main characters. But when a person is told that there’s bad with the good, decent people can’t possibly imagine the lengths evil will go to in order to ruin them. Even though this is a very sexy tale, the motto, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” applies in a big way. There is suspense in this short story. It’s their sense of determination and belief in what’s right that pulls the hero and heroine together to defeat what was thought undefeatable. This wasn’t an easy read for me but it’s definitely well done.

The Addiction
By Jaid Black is the story I’d been waiting for. Figures it would come last in the anthology. I’m a fan of Ms. Black’s and somehow I knew that this was going to be the icing on an already yummy cake. I was right. The author set up the plot, conflict and character hook within the first few paragraphs. There’s the cynical and world-weary hero and the energetic, optimistic go-getter yet still sort of innocent heroine, and their worlds clash.

Ms. Black’s sense of humor and cleverly described bit of slapstick totally sucked me in. In such a short space, the author packed in a crazy but loving family, internal angst, gleeful manipulative friends and a wonderful surprise that embodies what romances do best – gives a reader the warm and fuzzies while providing them plenty of reasons to sweat and swoon. Ms. Black’s ability to create characters that seem real and alive is as vibrant a talent as ever. And this short story proves it.

Something Wicked This Way Comes covers the spectrum of readers’ tastes and satisfies on every level. Whether a reader is looking for a bit of sexual adventure, an out of this world experience or the simple beauty of “I love you”, it’s all here to discover in this wonderfully well-written anthology. There are things that made me gasp, had me laughing and giggling, or wide-eyed and reaching for the ice cubes. This book is a lot of fun and so engrossing, it could possibly make time cease to exist. It certainly felt that way to me and I enjoyed every second. If you’re feeling a wee bit wicked, then this is the book to read.

I read this because of Laurann Dohner's story, which was revamped and rereleased as Cathian. I did read them all and they were pretty decent for an erotic romance anthology, actually. Both erotic romance and anthologies can be either pretty good or horrible, so imagine my surprise when I only disliked one of these stories. My favorite was Laurann Dohner's addition. My least favorite was Tattoo Witch by Kathy Kulig. If you want short, easy sexy stories, you'll like this.

Captain of Nara’s Heart- I LOVED this story. For not being very long we were able to connect with the characters and have enough back story we weren’t fumbling around. You fall in love with Nara. Poor, poor Nara. She is caught in a terrible situation and she is trying to make the best of it. Luckily, the Captain is my second favorite kind of Hero- the kind that is a gentleman and treats you with the utmost respect but is a dynamite in bed. The other secondary characters are amazing too. There was even some action to keep up on our toes. I wish the ending was a little more fleshed out. But that is the ONLY issue with this short story. Well done and I will be reading more by this author.

Highland Tryst- This story was ok. A highlander falls out of nowhere and meets a woman who’s boyfriend she JUST caught cheating on her. Within a few moments orgasms happen and BAM! she can’t live without him. After that I had a hard time trying to get into the story. *shrugs* I don’t know. I’ve never really understood that whole love at first sight thing. But if that sort of thing rocks your boat then give this story a shot. Just because this story wasn’t my cup of tea does not mean that it was terribly written or it was a pointless story. It wasn’t. Just not for me.

The Addiction- This was an interesting story. Less sex than the other stories but a little more lighthearted. I laughed out loud at this one. I felt for the heroine. She was hilarious and SO mixed up but willing to find her way. The main character was definitely tormented and struggling with an inner demon. I think I would have liked to see them have more time together before he starts to change his life. Though there is something moving about one night together and you are THAT sure about someone. It is a sweet story with an adorable ending.

Dangerous Addiction- I have mixed feelings about this story. I really liked the characters. The Dom was very sure about himself but also cautious when he saw the the sub was having issues. He wanted to make sure that he understood what was going on in her head before going further. All the things that a good Dom would do. The sub was nervous and scared but desperate. This made sense with her back story. They acted just right for those circumstances. Until **SPOILER** you get to the scene where he takes a crop to her. It isn’t bad at all. She doesn’t bleed or scream for mercy or anything. I think what bothered me about the scene was how well she took to it. I get that she trusted him and I understand that this was something she loved. But after her bad experience I wanted a little more hesitation. I wanted her to safe word just so she knew that she could. But she didn’t. **END SPOILER** The end of the story is cute. The couple looks like they are going to make it with a few obstacles in the way that could make things interesting. I was just looking for a little bit more character development. But this in no way means that I will skip over this story when I re read the anthology. I just keep in mind I have to be really open with this story.

Tattoo Witch- This story was cute. And I definitely didn’t see the ending coming. I thought something totally different was going to happen and I was pleasantly surprised when it unfolded as it did. That was definitely my favorite part of the story. The idea of a tattoo inflicting both a blessing and a curse was really fun. As far as characters go, I didn’t really like the girl in the story. I thought she was a little bit $itchy but the guy seemed to be a sweetheart if not a little bit stupid. All this considered- the ending is what makes this story. How deep they get into trouble and their unfailing ability to do the right thing even though the wrong thing is SO much easier makes this a story that gives a reason to believe people are inherently good. At least… this reviewer likes to think so.

Dragon Heat- A tad unrealistic. Just a tad. She’s an assassin that sleeps with her target minutes after meeting him. Now, the only reason I manage to overlook this for the most part is he is a shifter which means that he has the ability to sense a “mate”. After that the story is fast paced and interesting in the revelations. The outcome is a little entertaining and exactly how I would expect a dragon to take care of situations. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I will more than likely be looking into more by this author.

4.5 Stars Overall

I have chosen to review this book as a whole and individually on each story; I admit I was skeptical because this book covers so many genres; however every last author delivered. What I was skeptical about was just damn fun to read this is a book that will satisfy your craving for all types of romance be BDSM or Paranormal or the simple sweet romance. It was really a fun read.

Captain of Nara’s Heart
By Laurann Dohner

In this paranormal romance we meet Nara who has been captured and sold as a sex slave, she is an Earther who is unfamiliar with all the galaxy inhabitants but refuses to lose her dignity as a sex slave. When she see’s what her choices are she agrees to become the “food” for Captain Vellar (Yummy Alien Male). Captain Vellar has miscalculated his mating cycle and is in desperate need without the essence of woman he will become a ravening beast. Oh this was such a fun story and to watch these two fall in love it was just an awwwwwwwww pick me type of read. For a short story this was just fun and there was plenty of humor ……can you say “pod people”? I give this story 4
stars.

Dragon Heat
By Mel Teshco

In this story we encounter a paranormal assassin sent to kill the last remaining Dragon Shift (damn is he HAWT). The moment these two meet bombs explode, fireworks are just too tame for the heat these two emit. Grace our deadly female assassin soon learns the nature of her psychic abilities in her attempt to complete the assignment of killing Benson. In this story of betrayal, love and redemption we are made to wish we all had our very own shifter to call our own and snuggle with. I give this story 3.5 stars.

Dangerous Addiction
By Desiree Holt

Oh how I love the D/s relationship and watching this one unfold in this short story lovely, I don’t think a writer will ever have enough time to cover all the dynamics of this alternate lifestyle. However Desiree did a wonderful job of putting enough information in this story to have you wanting to read more. We meet Cord (our sexy as sin Cowboy Dom) who has been eyeing his public relations rep Fallon whom he instantly recognized as a Sub. Fallon is coming out of an abusive D/s relationship and is very cautious on embarking on anything alternative again however she has the need for that bite of pain with her pleasure. Is Cord the man to be all that she needs, wants, desires and loves; read this story to see how Cord manages this task. This was a lovely read that I give 4 Stars.

Highland Tryst
By Eliza Knight

In this short story we meet Highland Laird Fin as he is in battle with the Laird Douglas, as Douglas is about to deliver the killing strike Fin is transported to another world. It is in this world he meets Kari and so begins the seaside fantasy romance with a Highland twist. Men in kilts just do it to me every time and this was one sweet romance with laughter, and triumph. It was a refreshing read and I enjoyed it especially Fin’s Scottish Brogue and his naughty way I give this story four stars.

Tattoo Witch
By Kathy Kulig

Now this story took a minute for me to grasp as it begins we encounter two lovers Sam and Anita as they are vacationing. They happen upon a husband and wife making love in a boat and from there it gets real interesting. Between cursed tattoo’s and wicked wild sex this story takes you for a ride make sure you pay attention otherwise you will miss what Kathy is trying to tell you about love and fantasy. I gave this story 3.5 stars.

The Addiction
By Jaid Black

This was the sweetest romance and oh was it funny too we find John Calder billionaire playboy also known as a pimp (wow right?) and Shelli Rodgers an uncoordinated exotic dancer who is a graduate student. That sentence alone should tell you just how damn funny this story is but oh the romance and the love is so tender and beautiful this one almost brought me to tears. There was something about this story that just touched me and although it was fantasy it was just lovely (deep sigh) this one makes a girl wish upon that star. 5 Stars

This is a combined stories of known authors that I love. Some stories are quite to my fancy, others are not. So I will give my review on each of the story included.

Captain of Nara’s Heart by Laurann Dohner:
The plot is really simple that I wish there are more complications are included. The sex scenes are many, but the others are just fast forwarded that I feel I was left out in the story. The way Nara falls in love seems quite fast for me, but the Captain's possession of her (not just physically)is quite hot. The ending for me is quite uncertain for the main and sub characters that I wish it was longer. Overall, it is a nice read.

Dragon Heat by Mel Teshco:
It is an semi action pack story of a Dragon and a Dragon Breeder on the run. It will make you tense on what will happen to them. The sex scenes are also hot. But the ending is quite disappointing to me, it seems like the events happened are so convenient for the H/h, and for the story to have a happy ending.

Dangerous Addiction by Desiree Holt:
The plot is quite simple, a woman having trust issues and a man wanted to remove that wall. Seems like the woman have no will to herself and no mind to know that her ex is abusing her. Anyway, there are bdsm scenes (which I skip because it's not my fancy). The ending is quite abrupt that you are not sure what are their future. I wish the author make it longer, including the party that is supposed to be happening on the ranch.

Highland Tryst by Eliza Knight:
This is the story of a Highland Warrior who had lost everything in the past and try to create a new life in the future. The story is about his adjustments in the new era and how the heroine helps her have a semblance of life. The story is simple, the sex scenes nice. It is a nice light read for me.

Tattoo Witch by Kathy Kulig:
The couple, Sam and Anita have been tricked by another couple on having tattoos to have great sex life. The way they experimented is thrilling, the way Anita let loose of her inhibitions and dominates Sam is quite fun to read. I just wish there is a resolution on the curse on the other couple and on the curse of the Tattoo witch, so it can really be a happy ending for everyone.

The Addiction by Jaid Black:
This is a story of a poor little rich guy and the woman who finally lets him out of desolation. The plot is cute, and the sex scenes are quite hot and sweet at the same time. The ending (and some of the scenes) are quite cheesy for me, but happy that it have a good ending.

I read this so that I could read Laurann Dohner's Claws and Fangs, which the first one of that series is in Something Wicked This Way Comes (Claws and Fangs #1) by Jaid Black . Which I have to read volume 1 of things before I can read a volume 2.

#1: "Captain of Nara's Heart" -Laurann Dohner
I love Dohner. She's fabulous. I adore her New Species series, as well as the Zorn series. And this is my favorite story in this anthology. It's marvelously written, very hawt, with a good and seemingly legit backstory/world. Great, great, great. I would actually like to see a series out of this.

#2: "Dragon Heat" -Mel Teshco
It was a bit flat. I had no real involvement with the characters, and I don't know it felt a bit forced. I love dragons though. Wish this had gotten my attention better.

#3: "Dangerous Addiction" -Desiree Holt
Meh. Didn't really see why this one was in this anthology. There was absolutely nothing paranormal/otherworld/etc about it. It felt very out of place. And I don't generally go for the older males (40s ish?). However, it wasn't that bad... Just felt a little out of place.

#4: "Highland Tryst" -Eliza Knight
This is certainly more interesting than the previous two stories. Typically I find myself leery of Scottish/Highland stories. Being a huge fan for the last 20 years of Diana Gabaldon, I never found myself actually trying any other Scottish Romances until recently, and most of those have been misses as none of them are as fantabulous as Mrs Gabaldon. However, this one was fun. All in all, I liked it. Though it was a little convenient at times (her cousin makes illegal documents? Gee that's so con-veeen-i-ent.)

#5: "Tattoo Witch" -Kathy Kulig
Ehh was confused by this one considering where the Highland Tryst ended (them having sex on a lifeguard tower), I kept thinking that the couple on the beach was them.

#6: "The Addiction" -Jaid Black
Didn't read this one, since I haven't read The Possession which this is a sequel to.

Not only is each story steamy, with engaging plot lines and fantastic sexual tension, they're each unique and different which is great in an anthology because it never got tired or boring. The variety of sensuous stories across the erotic genre will satisfy your wicked side.

Stories included were:

Captain of Nara's Heart By Laurann Dohner - We meet Nara who has been captured and sold as a sex slave, she is an Earther who is unfamiliar with all the galaxy inhabitants but refuses to lose her dignity as a sex slave.

Dragon Heat By Mel Teshco - We encounter a paranormal assassin sent to kill the last remaining Dragon Shifter.

Dangerous Addiction By Desiree Holt - Fallon is coming out of an abusive D/s relationship and is very cautious on embarking on anything alternative again however she has the need for that bite of pain with her pleasure. I skimmed through this one since I've read this typical plot so many times in other books. Nothing new here.

Highland Tryst By Eliza Knight - We meet Highland Laird Fin as he is in battle with the Laird Douglas, as Douglas is about to deliver the killing strike Fin is transported to another world--ours. I had to skip it since it was utterly ridiculous.

Tattoo Witch By Kathy Kulig - Between cursed tattoo's and wicked wild sex this story takes you for a ride make sure you pay attention otherwise you will miss what Kathy is trying to tell you about love and fantasy.

The Addiction By Jaid Black - Wherein we find John Calder billionaire playboy also known as a pimp and Shelli Rodgers an uncoordinated exotic dancer who is a graduate student.

Something Wicked This Way Comes, Volume 1 by Jaid Black Something Wicked This Way Comes, Volume 1 was an interesting collection of stories from some very good authors. I originally bought this book because Laurann Dohner had a story in it and I love her writing. I was not disappointed and I was pleasantly surprised with the submissions by the other authors.

Here is my breakdown of these stories submitted to this anthology:
"Captain of Nara's Heart" by Laurann Dohner 4.5 stars
"Dragon Heat" by Mel Teshco 3 stars
"Dangerous Addiction" by Desiree Holt 3.5 stars
"Highland Tryst" by Eliza Knight 4 stars
"Tattoo Witch" by Kathy Kulig 4 stars
"The Addiction" by Jaid Black 4 stars

(I've only read The Addiction - Jaid Black story so far - the reason I bought this book)

I loved The Possession when I read it years ago and when I heard she was finally writing a sequel to The Possession with John Calder the illustrious owner of Hotel Atlantis Resort I couldnt wait to read.

Shelli Rogers is just 6 months from getting her Ph.D in Anthropology and due to her family falling on hard times since her addict father died she takes a job stripping. But she is the worst stripper. She is a complete klutz onstage and on the stripper pole.

John Calder has everything a man could want - money, looks, women. But at 40 he is realizes it all means nothing.

He stops in the strip club Shelli is working in to recruit a couple of girls for his Resort. John hasnt smiled or laughed in years.. And as he watches Shelli on stage he does both. He has to meet this woman who has made him do something he didnt think he was capable anymore.

This very short story and is so full of humor. Shelli's grandma is a hoot. I wished this could have been a little longer but it did not disappoint in bringing closure and happiness to John's story.

Read it for The Addiction, the long awaited John Calder story that I had be dying for since reading the Possession many eons ago. But I have to be honest and say that given the fact that the Possession was one of the first few erotica stories that I had ever read and truly enjoyed. I felt like Jaid Black really phoned it in with John's story. And given how emotionally distraught and broken that he was in the Possession, I really wanted him to have an epic story. I was glad however that his love interest, DID turn out to be the nameless/faceless friend of Kris from the Possession as well(which I was really hoping for!). But something about the timing of things just read a bit off and for sure there was no connection between Shelli and Kris at ALL til the ending of the story. Nor any mention of Kris having married her enemy-turned-love interest from her book, til the very END of the story. I could just be nit-picking that point of things but, this novella lost a lot of what I loved from the Possession. Could have been the length of time between both stories. But the Addiction just read really off and John was far more selfish and out of character than ever.

I read this book as a teenager. Not long ago, I had reason to read it again and noticed something that didn't entirely register the first time: Bradbury can really write.

This book's descriptions come at you at high speed. Bradbury doesn't choose among his figures of speech. He chooses all.

He can lay back, as in the opening sentence: "The seller of lightning rods arrived just ahead of the storm." He can lay back, but he usually doesn't. For example:

At dawn, a juggernaut of thunder wheeled over the stony heavens in a spark-throwing tumult. Rain fell softly on town cupolas, chucked from rainspouts, and spoke in strange subterranean tongues beneath the windows where Jim and Will knew fitful dreams, slipping out of one, trying another for size, but finding all cut from the same dark, mouldered cloth.

Bradbury's over-the-top descriptions work because they are over the top. If Bradbury had held back, Something Wicked would have lost the passionate intensity that makes it stay with me. It might read more easily, but it would be a shadow of itself. There would be no reason to look back as an adult and say, "I remember."

Overall this was a great collection of sexy short stories. Totally LOVED Captain of Nara’s Heart by Laurann Dohner (5 Stars to her) and Highland Tryst by Eliza Knight (5 Stars). Both of these hooked me and kept me reading. I enjoyed the love story and even with the quick read and the short time for the lovers to fall for each other, the story was believable to me. I could see the progression of their feelings.

Dragon Heat by Mel Teshco was pretty good as well, just didn't grab me as much as the previous two that I mentioned above (4 Stars). I would totally love to see this as a full length novel.

Tattoo Witch by Kathy Kulig truth be told, kind of weirded me out. Not sure what to think of this one. I think it was well written, but didn't grab me as a romance. It had a good moral and for that I give it 3 1/2 stars.

Dangerous Addiction by Desiree Holt. I wanted to like this one, I really did. But, I didn't feel the emotion that should have been in the story. It really bothered me how he called her girl. Maybe I'm just not a Dom/Sub kind of gal. (2 stars).

These 5 are Stars for "Captain of Nara’s Heart" by Laurann Dohner

I got this anthology for LD's story... I LOVED IT but like always, was left wanting more! :o( It was a really interesting story and a new "story world." Now I want more of it. I wonder if she'll make separate books related to this story. I would TOTALLY LOVE THAT!

As for the other stories in the anthology... Well, I got this anthology mainly for LD's story so I don't know the other authors. I'm not in a hurry to read their stories at the moment. Later on I might take a look at their synopsis and see if any of them catch my attention. If I do read one of them, I'll update this review and let you know what I think.

Happy readings!

I bought this book for the laurann dohner's story, captain of nara's heart. Ironically I didn't not like her story at all. I should have gone with my instinct. I usually don't like these short story books. they are usually expensive and filled with stories that are too short to have a complex enough story to be interesting. Laurann Dohner's story is too much sex and not enough relationship building. The second short story was my favorite and it actually was good dragon heat by mel Teshco. Only, now I wish this was part of a series because it I wanted more after the short and to the point story I read. I think I may stay away from these short story books in the future.

February - 3.5. Not bad, but disappointed w/JB's story - been waiting for John's story for ages and the story is told well and then...just ends! I usually don't like books w/no real ending and if space was an issue as this was a story for an anthology, then at least she could have cut out a few pages and added to the ending! The others ranged from pretty good to ok -

I actually think this was a great collection of stories.

I'm a big Laurann Dohner fan. I think everything she touches is gold and this is no exception.

Jaid Black knows how to tug at the heart strings.

The others were new to me and I'm going to check out their other works!

I enjoyed the collection of erotic stories. The stories are all page turners and the writers are a great blend of talents. Their writings flowed smoothly. All erotic genres are present in the collection of stories. Definitely a sizzler.
