What I liked about this book:
the concept this novel is based on.
it was a YA novel without any love triangles.
the teenagers were shown to have a normal relationship with at least one parent.
the mythology that came along with the land of Aquinas.
the bad guys weren't demonic evil things, they were fae too and had a perfectly good reason to be bad-they wanted Aquinas.

What I did not like:
the book dragged a bit at the end.
the author told us what was happening rather than showing us.

I think this is a good book for kids in their early teens.

Meckenzie and her siblings Taggart and Kellan are blonder than you, prettier than you, richer than you, smarter than you, fitter than you and oh yeah, are magical fairy royalty. The majority of this story is comprised of:
A)the triplets being given various jewelry, each more beautiful and magical than the next,
B)Meckenzie verbally "sparring" with the hot mysterious dude who just transfered to her school and is obsessed with getting to know her, and
C)various characters telling the triplets how awesome their new magical powers are.

I have no problem with wish-fullfillment fiction written to scrath the author's id. But this doesn't even have that energy going for it. It's just plain bad.

Self-publishing fail. The writing and editing are so awful, I couldn't make it past the first chapter.

Example:
"Taggart was only a minute younger than Meckenzie, but she always felt like the older sister. Always trying to clean up after him and keep him out of trouble. Not that Taggart was prone to any trouble that was all Kellan." How does that last "sentence" exist in a published book?

Or an even better example:
"Knocking softly, Meckenzie opened the door to Kellan's room.

'K, wanna run?'

Kellan mumbles, 'Mmphh?!'

'K, I didn't sleep well. I need to run, so get up.'

'Ok. Be ready in five.'

Meckenzie changed into her running clothes and pulled her hair back. With any luck, they could do five miles through Central Park before needing to get ready to make it to school on time. That was if Kellan was really getting ready.

Throwing her running clothes on, Meckenzie slipped her iPhone around her arm [etc. etc.]"

Okay. So not only did we switch from past tense to present tense to past tense, the main character put her running clothes on twice. And folks, both of these were on the first page of my Kindle edition. This book required that I add a whole new shelf called "Unreadable."

Trefoil follows seventeen-year-old triplets Meckenzie, Taggart, and Kellan. The story is told in third-person, but it focuses on the indecisive one, Meckenzie. After all, Taggart knows he is destined to become a doctor, and Kellan knows she is meant for Division I basketball. Currently, they live in a manor near Central Park with their father and caretaker. Their mother mysteriously disappeared ten years ago, and Meckenzie constantly dreams about her mother and a forest. Right before their birthday, the triplets are at once shocked, hurt and relieved to learn about their developing powers (Meckenzie can read minds) and that their mother is in the middle of a war in the land of fairies. This means that the triplets have fairy blood, which draws the attention of Ty, a fellow fairy .

In general, the plot is engaging, with a few twists, vivid descriptions and appropriate amount of detail. In fact, I would say that the book is plot-driven, focusing on actions as opposed to character development (but there is some of that). However, the dialogue falls a bit flat; for example, if a character were described a certain way, there usually would be no follow-up evidence for that behavior. Sometimes the descriptions tend to be repetitive, the sentences choppy. I am still unsure about Ty and his sibling’s true intentions with the triplet, but part of the origin of the feud is explained in the book. I think the sequel, Aquanis, will perhaps offer more insight.

It was an okay story with no real end. Or maybe that was a cliff-hanger ending and there's more to come. I don't know. Hey, at least there wasn't a sales pitch for the next part.

This author NEEDS an editor. This story needs an end. The next book I read needs to not be a self-pubbed drivelous mess.

I found this book while going through the free book list on iTunes.

This book didn't really do anything for me. There were some problems with the editing. Normally, I don't notice that kind of stuff but there was one part where I did notice it. The other thing I wasn't sure about was the relationship between the triplets. The book was about them, but, it felt like they were almost too close? I don't know what is bugging me about their relationship, but something was. I mean, we didn't really get to know any of their friends from their school and they were almost always together. Something bugged me about it.

The thing that I did like about this book was the romance. It was a little cheesy in some parts, but there was no love triangle to speak of! And, the two people involved were very mature about it. There was nothing involved that made me mad! I loved the fact that they were mature and talked about it. It was really nice to see!

Overall, this book didn't really do anything for me. There were some good parts, and some bad parts! But it is definitely a little bit different from what you normally see on the iBooks charts (or at least the books that I look for on the iBooks charts!).

I wanted really badly to like this book, but I tried so hard, and it didn't happen. The plot sounded sooo good, so I was actually a bit excited to read this. But WOW does this book need editing.
There were spelling and grammar mistakes galore. I usually don't care, but it was to the point where every paragraph I was picking something out. Also, when the kids find out they're fairies, only one of them finds it hard to take in. I'm sorry, but if I found out the reason my mom left all those years ago was because she had to rule the fairy kingdom,I would be in shock. And I wasn't seeing that in the triplets. Then it happened yet another time, and that was enough to get me to take back the book. I will look forward to read thsi if the author gets it edited. For now, it will remain as one of the worst books I have ever tried reading. (Sorry, M.C. Moore. It has potential, though.)

While not wildly original, it started off strong and had me hooked to see how it would turn out. Words cannot describe how horrible the grammar and dialogue were, however. So incredibly bad that I wanted to start editing the damn thing. In addition, it's like the author lost steam towards the end or someone else started writing during the second half. Half the dialogue was so stilted, and no one EVER talks like that. Since this seems to be the start of a series, one suggestion to the author: read it out loud to yourself! I think you will hear how bad it sounds and may be able to rectify it. If this was a collaborative with more than one author, get rid of the one who wrote the last half. Ok, with that, if a second novel comes out, I *might* give the first 25 pages a chance.

I'm very conflicted about this book. I enjoyed the story which was about triplets approaching their 18th birthday. In the months leading up to their birthday they realise that they're part Fae and that their lives will never be the same.
The reason I'm conflicted is the book desperately needs a proof reader. There were spelling mistakes throughout and there were words missing which made it difficult to read and follow the story.

This is a Kindle freebie I picked up on Amazon. I enjoyed the story, it wasn't quite what I was expecting, but not a disappointment. It was very clean, no swear words, no sex, which is nice to see in a young adult novel. One major problem with the book, though, is that it is simply riddled with grammatical errors. If you can read past those, it's a book worth checking out.

Trefoil took me a long time to get into and by the time I started getting into it, it was pretty much over. It seems like a lot of this book could be cut out and merged into the second book. I do like the idea of this story and it does make me wonder what will happen next but the flow of the book and the repeated information was difficult to get past. Suited for young YA.

I liked it but I think it needed a little something more. I feel that at times the main character was too complacent with her lot in life. If a lot of life altering news came my way in a span of a week I would be a mess. Not only that, but adding a potential suitor to the mix. It is a little too much with not enough explanation. Just my opinion of course.

I really enjoyed this novel. I found it well-written and entertaining. Excellent Fae references for those of us who are hardcore Fantasy and Gaelic literature fans. You definitely can't beat the price, but now of course I want to read the second novel, so hurry please author!!!!

I pick this on up 3 times to read, but once I did I was caught up in the story, from chapter one. The characters made you feels like you were part of the story line.

It's filled with magic, fairies, and others characters with flaws..

Nice midday read.....

This book was interesting enough. I read it because my daughter had read it and really enjoyed it and wanted me to read it. It kept my attention, most of the time. However, the grammatical errors drove me crazy.

Besides the glaring editing problems, it was a nice story with a good plot and I liked the characters...hate that it ended with a cliff hanger though :/

I'm really not sure why I picked this up. Someone must have said I'd like it. If you like modern day fairy tales, you'll probably enjoy this, but not me.

I am doing what my 12 year old calls "quitting a book" because I can't get beyond the editing issues. The story is dragging and losing my interest.

This is not very good and could benefit from being professionally edited (or even semi-professionally edited).
