Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.
The McKeegan’s is a new series that is an Irish family that immigrated from Ireland and settled in Montana. The matriarch, Rosemary, has passed away, but her husband, Eion, and their sons, Aiden, Brayden, and Miles, own one of the most significant spreads.
The story is a page-turner that is full of surprises, revelations, mystery, suspense, and danger. Keeley Walsh will be burnt during a fire at the boarding house where she lives. With no family near, and her father not responding to the telegrams, it will be the McKeegan family that takes her in to tend to her burns and healing.
“The boarder, Keeley Walsh ended up with some nasty burns. The fact is, her father left her in town and didn’t come back when he heard what happened.” --Neesa
Nolan McKeegan had decided he would never marry—after the woman he developed feelings for omitted the fact she was engaged to marry—until her fiancé showed up. He works at the family ranch with horses and cattle—and his many brothers.
The story’s plot will have the McKeegan family taking in Keeley to heal, and it will be Nolan, Nessa, and Mary Jane who will go into town and bring her to their ranch. Nolan is kind to Keeley and even spends time reading to her from their vast library. As Keeley heals, she is determined to make her own way in the world, and it will be Eion who helps make that happen—but not the way she was hoping. He knows of an established place, the Spencer place, where he will send Nolan and Keeley. It seems as if Eion owns it, and he has more planned than just helping Keeley. The property is large, and he decides the house side will be in Keeley’s name and the barn and grazing land will be in Nolan’s name—and there can’t be a fence dividing it.
The story was fun hearing about some of the issues that Keeley encountered, but wouldn’t ask for help and some of the things she attempted to do that caused problems. She will learn that asking for help doesn’t make her appear weak or helpless. I liked that Neesa had taught her several important things she needed to know for cooking, laundry, and cleaning. Now, it is having Keeley and Nolan working together rather than separately that will make life run smoother. Add in a young boy, Patrick, to the mix and things are interesting.
The story is a fast-paced, clean Western history with plenty of things happening and has moments of life and death. I liked that Keeley prays to God and trusts Him no matter what the situation, especially considering her father isn’t a godly man. Nolan and Patrick are the two bright things in her life and future. This definitely won’t be the last book in the series.
Book five in the McKeegans series brings Nolan and Keely's story. The author brings strong characters and takes you into their lives with a bit of danger and heartache, surprises and twists and turns. Along the way they find a growing love with some fun times. It's well written with descriptive scenes and is an enjoyable read.

I'm really enjoying this series and was happy to see Nolan get his story. He'd decided love and marriage weren't for him. That is until he met Keeley. These two needed each other and are just what the other needs. Of course they have a lot to go through to get their HEA and it all makes for a captivating read.
The McKeegans' are always willing to help a person in need so when the boarding house caught fire and Keeley is badly burned on one side and her back. Nessa and Mary Jane the house staff offered to take on her care at the McKeegan ranch. Keeley is going to have a long painful recovery with Nolan being the brother left to carry her about. Her father seemed to have abandoned her after the fire leaving her in a depressed withdrawn attitude. She becomes distrustful of men never wanting to be dependent on one again, and she has a poor self-image of herself. Nolan had been played by a woman once, and he had no plans of ever letting one get close enough to him again to ever try again. But he sure did enjoy spending time with Keeley. She showed a great deal of spirit when her feathers are ruffled. There is unexpected surprise after surprise throughout the story. A wonderful story of a young woman standing on own in the old west with the help of her neighbors.

In this the latest of the McKeegans series Keeyley is badly burned in a fire at the boarding house where she was staying, fortunately she was taken in by the McKeegans whilst she recovers. There she meets Nolan, one of the last single sons. They both have trust issues which makes any future for the two of them difficult. I have enjoyed this series and the storyline of this latest installment, although to be honest the character development was limited hence only 4*. I really felt for Keeley, abandoned by her father and disfigured by burns that make her feel as she is destined to be a spinster. She is lucky to have been taken in, meanwhile Nolan has trust issues from a previous relationship. A tentative relationship starts, however as usual things don't go smoothly. A good, sweet Christian story and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an advance copy of this book from the author through Booksprout.co, however this did not influence my review of the book.
Keeley was caught in the boarding house fire, fortunately no one died, but she has bad burns on the side of her body and back. It's decided she'll go to the McKeegan ranch for them to look after her. She's still waiting to hear from her father, who hasn't responded to any of her telegrams, she wonders if he hasn't received them. Nolan arrives to help her into the wagon to take her to the ranch. He's closed his heart due to his fiancee treating him so badly. Keeley decides she doesn't want to be beholden to a man again, she hasn't heard from her father at all, and has no idea where her mother is, hoping she's found happiness somewhere. Things don't work out how either of them expect. Her father arrives and thinks he's going to take over her house and ranch. Who is Patrick?

Nolan and Keeley's story was great. Keeley was burned when the boarding house she was staying in burned down. Her father had left her there and hadn't returned. He didn't return when he received news of her being burned in a fire either. The McKeegans took her into their home to recover thanks to Nessa and Mary Jane. Nolan wasn't interested in ever getting married. He had trusted a woman once and was determined not to trust one again. He and Keeley became friends. Keeley felt she was plain and now that she had burn scars, no man would want her so she decided she wanted a homestead of her own. Her father eventually returns though. If you want to know what happens, you need to read the book. I love the McKeegans. They are a wonderful family.

I always enjoy a Kathleen Ball book, but I have really enjoyed meeting and getting to know the McKeegans. Nolan is such a kind hearted cowboy, but not very trusting when it comes to women. Keely has good reasons not to be trusting but left severely burned after a boarding house fire she needs a place to heal and with the McKeegans is the perfect place to do that. When offered her “own” tract of land, she fails to read all the fine print. Stubborn can only take you so far and she might be pushing the limits on just how far. I really enjoyed the standoff between her and Nolan and I’m proud of Nolan for not giving in. Keely needed to learn she could stand up for herself. Plenty of romance, humor, danger and twists in this book.
Keeley’s left side of her body was burnt in a fire in the house where she lived. After several weeks in the doctor's house, she is sent to the McKeegan's to be taken care of. Nolan is the youngest of the McKeegans Brothers and he was asked to take care of Keeley. Both of them had been hurt in the past and although they became friends while Keeley was recovering, sometimes they went full of trust issues. I liked how Keeley tried to do things her way and she was stronger than she looked, and I liked Nolan for being so gentle and caring most of the time. And I loved Patrick, so young but so old at the same time. I’m looking forward to reading Carrick’s story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Keeley gets burned badly in a fire while staying in a house fire so her father deserted her it the ladies from the McKeegan ranch that come into town to take her back to the ranch until she is completely healed. She becomes friends with Nolan one of the sons but he is only a friend has he had his heart broken before and never wants to marry. There are some twists in this story but through it all Keeley continues to pray for the good family that took her in and helped her heal. Loved this sweet story and the wonderful characters.

Loved it! Nolan was deceived by a woman that he loved and he will never trust a woman again! Keeley has always been told she was worthless and would never marry. When she is severely burned in a fire, the McKeegan’s step in to take care of her with Nolan taking the lead. She wants to be independent and have her own homestead. Eion has other plans for Keeley and Nolan and sets things in motion for them to get what they each want! You will laugh and cry while reading. This story is full of despair, hope, suspense, love and faith. Don’t miss it!
Great addition to this clean series by Kathleen Ball. Nolan found out his bride to be was not the type of woman he wanted. He’s sworn off women completely. Keeley was badly burned in the fire and abandoned by her father. She assumes no man will want her so wants to learn everything so she can be independent. Their friendship grows but he still doesn’t trust women and she feels unworthy and also doesn’t want to ever rely on a man for anything.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I also purchased a copy as I love this author's work.
While this is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to fully understand and enjoy this one. I would highly recommend reading the entire series as the family and the supporting characters are a joy to read.
This is written in a dual POV format. I love that. Seeing both of the main characters thoughts during or immediately after a scene really help me to better connect and understand them so much better. It truly makes for a more enjoyable read.
The events that the author kept throwing at these characters really kept me turning the pages. I so look forward to more of this series!
This is a sweet, clean historical romance in the Old West. If you love the genre, then you definitely have to read this one!
This was a sweet story of healing and restoration. Nolan, who had his heart broken and swore he would never trust a woman, is put in a position to help care for Keely who believes no one can ever love her. They begin to develop feelings for each other, but both resist them. There are a few surprises and danger they face before they find their happily ever after.

This is a good story about a woman abandoned by her family and a kind and Christian family which takes her in. Keely is independent, stubborn and extremely naïve. She has a can do attitude and stubbornly refuses to see reason, especially with the man she is falling in love with. Nolan tries to help Keely out and he is gentle and kind, even when Keely is not. When trouble comes to the door, the McKeegan's are there to help Keely, even when she is so afraid of anyone getting hurt
I loved Nolan and Keeley for each other and they are perfect for each other. These two go through a lot and I was cheering them on to get their happily ever after. I love this series and Kathleen Ball's writing. From the small town, historical Western romance to the page turning storylines this author writes the best true to life stories and I look forward to reading the next book by this very talented author. I cannot decide which brother I like best. This has been a delicious set of books to read. Ms Ball has a great talent to share in this genre of books. We know which brother will e d up with which bride, but the journey to get her is such a joyous, if bumpy, road to travel. Thanks to the author for another goodread! Can hardly wait for the next in the series!
Nolan and Keeley's story is a good one. Her getting burned in the boarding house fire then needing a place to recover brought her to the McKeegan household. Nolan began to have feelings for her but would not allow them to show because of a past hurt. After her recovery things start to happen quickly. Her father returns, a bank robbery and lots more.
I enjoyed the book! Keeley was badly injured in a fire and came to the McKeegan ranch to recover. After she recovered, she decided to become a homesteader. She only received half of the land plot - the other half went to Nolan. There was a lot of excitement and drama near the end of the book. I highly recommend reading this book!
This was a really great story. . Keeley had been burned severely in a fire at boarding house, where she was staying. Nessa heard about this young lady needing care. Her father had just left her there. More to come, just enjoy her and Nolan’s adventures.
Lovely story with heart, twists and seemly insurmountable issues that were solved. Beautifully character development that leaves you feeling connected. Looking forward to the next McKeegan story.
This book is a great read that will keep you turning the pages. Keeley and Nolan's story is full of emotions, drama, suspense and romance. This is a book you don't want to miss.

I enjoy Kathleen Balls Series and the way she writes a story that grabs you and pulls you in immediately! This was another of those books..I was hooked right from the beginning. Loved it all the way through!
Enjoyed this sexy, fun and action-packed adventure filled with interesting and engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and thrilling passion. An edge of your seat emotional roller coaster from beginning to end.
Great story, but needs serious proofreading and editing.
I really enjoyed the story, but couldn't enjoy it fully. I lost count of how many quotation marks were missing or in the wrong place. It constantly took me out of the story.
Keeley was injured very badly, with burns on her neck, shoulder and back. Nolan is a quiet, gentle man who befriends and cares for her as she recovers. As it happens, they both have some healing to do. This was a nice, enjoyable story.
Kathleen Ball is such a good writer and this book shows it. This is book 5 Nolan The McKeegans. It is well written in her true Western way. This is a very enjoyable read. I look forward to her next book about the McKegans.
