The book is based on the true story of a wild cat that lived in the Kennedy Center in the 1970s. Named Mosby by the center staff because he would disappear like the "grey ghost," he roamed the vents and secret places of the building, howling during operas and concerts.
I loved this book. It is the best book ever. I have read the book probably over 30 times. Anyone who likes cats should read the book. I first read it when I was in second grade and kept reading it through elementary school and beyond. I even read it now when I want something fun and something about cats in it.
One of my childhood favorites that I reread as an adult. A fantastic true tale of a wild cat at home in one of the premier art institutions in the country, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.. Author Noyes treats the topic well, spinning a tale that is largely based on fact and interviews with actual employees at the Kennedy Center.
A short, 125-page read about a gray cat. I loved reading about Mosby's adventures at the Kennedy Center. The little scaredy cat that made you love him.
This would make a great chapter book for a younger child or a book a parent could read to a child.
