From the depths of Baudelaire to the brilliance of a Byron in bloom we jump into the vapid rivers of a self reflective doomed and isolated soul, eager for an early suicide reminiscent of any romantic worth the drool he holds in his mouth.

Lo and behold, slack jawed and in awe, contained within is the latest collection of the soon to be famous forever poet of all nations D. David Croot!
D. David Croot has been writing on and off (pretty much continually) for nineteen hundred years. He is no preternatural creature, no real special abilities or heightened desires to speak of, but he’s put in his four-trillion hours and it’s all for you my sweaty precious and sublimely beautiful creatures.
With referencing from Shakespear to poe, this is a collection not to be missed. In Love's Unalterable Kiss, D. What sets Love's Unalterable Kiss apart is Croot's unwavering commitment to authenticity. The poems within this anthology refuse to be bound by societal expectations or fleeting trends. Love's Unalterable Kiss transcends the boundaries of time, touching on the essence of what it means to be human. The words linger in your thoughts.
Love's Unalterable Kiss—a testament to the enduring power of poetry in a world that sometimes forgets to listen.
I was struck by the poems intimacy, love-hunger and openness of feelings. Rare, surely from a male writer. (Gender stereotype, but I do.) My favourite;- “When you sing…
When you sing beauty are the words Shunning static parallel lives, Pure, chastened spirit thrives Fragile fertility loose are the seas Caught in the whirl of ancient melodies Beauty in bed, beauty in the performance Beauty in the everyday, beauty clothed and dormant Secretly, softly quietly hum the birds When you sing beauty are the words…”
The section on affection for the vagabond, harks to the novel, The Oddballs by the same author. But there are other sections too, some humorous, others sad. All in all, a book of poetry to languish over, maybe on a hot summer's day with a glass of wine in hand.
From the front cover you can tell this is not your average book of poetry. And then right from the start when you get such poems as the one titled “My stature’s that of a hunchback midget who’s never had a home” or “Kid stunk of s**t” you know you’re in from some colourful poetry that you were simply not shown in the grey old world of school. Then there is my favourite that asks “What’s the f***ing point” which speaks to me on so many levels. At the end the author asks if he he has made you smile a little. I have definitely smiled and then some. A thoroughly entertaining read.

I don't usually enjoy poetry, but I've enjoyed other books by this author so thought I'd give it a go. Loves Intolerable Kiss is a book of random and unique poems. The author has a very unique writing style, and I enjoyed how raw and at times, how emotional some of these poems are. There is something very natural and uncensored about the way this author writes, simple, and unrefined in a good way. Mixed with some dark humour, I found this book to be thoroughly enjoyable.
The writing is sometimes quite poetic in David Croots novels, and it’s no surprise, then, to find out there’s something quite poetic in his… poetry. I don’t usually read poetry, but I gave this one a try based on his other works and found the verses very enjoyable and relatable. It’s not the usual how nice is the sky and life type of rhymes but far more down to earth and immediately relatable to life in general. It definitely one of those books containing works that can be read again and again, and in some cases need to be to understand it.
Love’s Unalterable Kiss is an unconventional and intriguing read. The book is non like a normal poetry read. It is raw, deep, and intentional.
“I’ve always been dying As have you sadly We haven’t made it easy on our selves have we? We pick and choose one over another We have in-built preferences, now labeled prejudice We don’t know what to believe or who to adore”
