For thirty years, the King of the Monsters has slept off the shores of Tokyo. But now he's back, and he's looking to make up for lost time! This 200-page manga epic adapts to English the Kazuhisa Iwata graphic novel. Featuring an afterword on the big lizard's film history, no manga, monster, or movie fan will want to be without this critical collection! Cover by Hugo Award-winning artist Bob Eggleton!
A VERY excellent adaption of the 1984 Godzilla film. The artwork is nice, anime characters are well done, very dark in tone on the giant bug attack. I would totally reccomend to any Godzilla fan. Non-fans may enjoy it as well.
Godzilla once again rears its head to cause havoc in Japan. It's up to Japan's military forces along with a young reporter and a renown scientist to stop the titanic monster. The question is how do you stop destructive force of nature? A quick read that is really well done with a flurry of dynamic action sequences that manga style is known for. Definitely a hit for the fan of the Godzilla films which is why I I have this in my personal library.
Fun, simple and easy to read. The art has that 80s manga sheen, with some absolutely impressive panels featuring everyone's favorite monster. There were even some unintentionally funny panels, which made it even more enjoyable for me.
I'd give it a 7/10! A fun read, but not one I think I'd revisit.
