Witness Lee (李常受, pinyin Lǐ Chángshòu) was a Chinese Christian preacher associated with the Local Churches movement and the founder of Living Stream Ministry. He was born in the city of Yantai, Shandong Province, China, in 1905, to a Southern Baptist family. He became a Christian in 1925 after hearing the preaching of Peace Wang and later became a close coworker of Watchman Nee. Witness Lee moved to Taiwan in 1949 as the Communists were advancing in mainland China. During the 1950s, his ministry extended throughout Southeast Asia and in 1962 Lee moved to the United States, relocating the base of his ministry to Southern California. He gave his last public conference in February 1997 at the age of 91. Many of Lee's spoken messages have been published in over 400 books and translated into more than fourteen different languages. Lee's major work is Life-study of the Bible, comprising over 25,000 pages of commentary on every book of the Bible from the perspective of the believers' enjoyment and experience of God's divine life in Christ through the Holy Spirit. Lee was also the chief editor of a new translation of the Bible entitled the Recovery Version.

Praise the Lord that we have 1 Corinthians a book so spiritual, experiential, and enjoyable. I truly appreciate the brother Lee showed us how much genuine experience of Christ we can have through the teachings of Paul. Even though there were so many problems going on in the local church in Corinth, Paul stressed that the only solution to these issues are Christ and the cross (2:2). As all the saints and all there churches have difficulties, failures, and all sorts of environments, we have to take his cross, deny our self, and be diligent to enter into our spirit, because he who is jointed to the Lord is one spirit! And only Christ can be our true way to go on.

"Every one of us must be a builder" (Message 23).
Today I am on volume 2 page 325. It’s been insightful. Here’s some enjoyment from the messages in the 2nd volume that I finished this morning. PRAISE THE LORD!

“In 1958 the Lord began to open the matters of eating the Lord, drinking the Lord, and enjoying the Lord. At that time I began to see John 6:57, where the Lord Jesus says, ‘He who eats Me shall also live because of Me.’ I also realized that if we would eat the Lord, drink the Lord, and enjoy the Lord, we must know our spirit. Apart from knowing the spirit, we cannot contact the Lord.” (Message 39) This passage reminded me of hymn #1110. 🎼All we need to do is eat the Lord…As we eat we’re inwardly restored🎼

“…see the light which brings in life. When we see light in the Word and receive life we shall grow (Message 40).”
“…get into verses 15, 17, and 19. We can no longer afford to neglect such verses; these are some of the deepest verses in the Bible (Message 40).”

Today 11/14/21 I started on volume 3, but I did not have a pen. The most enjoyable lines were the ones about eating and enjoying. Witness Lee stated we eat what we enjoy, and he reiterated that what we eat becomes part of our constitution. In the Economy of God it is also mentioned that what we eat becomes part of our constitution, and I felt convicted about buying things in department stores.

Today 12/13/21 I returned to volume 3 and made it to message 53. I really needed this. Here are some portions I enjoyed:
“God created man to deal with the rebellious angels (Message53).”
“…the woman’s place is by the side of the man (Message 53).” I prayed: Lord Jesus, help Your daughters to embrace and comply cheerfully with their proper place all the days of there lives. Amen.
“Christ is the factor for solving all the problems in the realm of human life, and the church is the element for settling all the problems in the realm of the divine administration. We all need to see Christ in the realm of human life and the church in the realm of the divine administration (Message 52).” I love this portion because the human life can be filled with so many problems, but it’s such a hopeful relief to know that if we eat, drink, and enjoy Christ all human life problems will be solved.
