Cassandra Larkin is a woman with a dark secret. Anderson is a sexy ghost with exactly what she's looking for, and the Ether's the only place she can get it. The Ether is a dangerous place where even the most powerful witches go only to work complex magic, and sex in the Ether is asking for trouble. Secrets don't stay secret for long when the treacherous demon, Deacon, discovers the truth about Cassandra and plots to use her magic as his ticket back into the world of the living, back to Tara Stone and her coven of witches, upon whom he has sworn a terrible vengeance. Cassandra must accept her dark past and stand with Anderson, Tara, and the Elemental Coven against Deacon's wrath or risk the loss of friendship, purpose and love, everything that she only now dares to believe she may be able to have.
For K D Grace, penning a good tale is a physical act. When she’s not writing, K D is veg gardening or walking. Her creativity is directly proportional to how much soil is under her fingernails or how quickly she wears out a pair of walking boots. She’s having a mad affair with a pair of kettle bells at her local gym and an even madder affair with a stainless steel pole in the pole fitness studio just across the street. She’s fascinated with mythology and fairy tales, which inspires many of her stories. She loves to read. She loves anything that gets her out of doors. But she loves writing a story best of all.
Voted ETO Best Erotic Author of 2014, K D is the author of sixteen novels and multiple novellas and short stories for multiple publishers. She also writes romance under the name Grace Marshall. At present she is excitedly publishing her Medusa’s Consortium urban fantasy series. The first three novels, beginning with In The Flesh, are now available.
Riding the Ether is the second book in K D Grace's Lakeland Heatwave series. Having read and loved the first book, Body Temperature and Rising, I eagerly anticipated the release of this one.
This book deals with Cassandra Larkin, a woman who keeps her ravenous and dangerous sexual appetite secret until she seduces Anderson, a ghost, in the mysterious void of the Ether. The trouble is, it's dangerous to linger too long in the Ether, and as sex is such an easy way to spend time, lots of time, it's dangerous to partake in the Ether. However, she has more than sexual feelings for Anderson, and it appears she feels the same, so staying apart is not really an option.
Soon, though, further danger is thrown Cassandra's way when the treacherous demon, Deacon, discovers the truth about her. He plots to use her sex magic for revenge on Tara Stone and the Elemental Coven, who practice their own brand of sex magic. The coven want to stand together with Cassandra, but will she face up to her powers and what they really mean, or will she run?
The thing to bear in mind is that you really need to have read the first book before you start this one. It will stand alone to a certain extent, but there will be lots you don't know or understand.
Overall, this was another very enjoyable book from K D Grace. It's an action-packed, erotic paranormal tale with lots of sex of every flavour; straight, gay, lesbian, ménage... the list goes on. So if you love yourself some seriously hot supernatural action, then you should definitely check out Riding the Ether.
Oh, hey! Sexy read, here. No lie. There is sexin' of the multiple variety going on within these pages. Multiple meaning that you get guy on guy, girl on girl, guy on girl, guy on guy on girl, girl (being forced by a demon to do things she wouldn't normally do) on guy... and, well, pretty much any combination you can think of. It's exhausting. In a good way.
Anderson and Cassandra had some serious steam. Cassandra's abilities make her deadly and she's had to reign herself in for so long that when they come together things start smoking. Lest you think this book is all about the sex, it's not. In between bouts of loving (and self-pleasuring, if the situation calls for it), the two of them - along with the rest of the coven - have to figure out what's going on with the diabolical Deacon and how to put him for good. Deacon's crafty and very bad and he does his best to keep ahead of them at every turn.
I like the people who are slowly orbiting into the coven's world. Cassandra, who brings along Ferris and a whole host of questions about her father. Alice and Serina who have both been abused by Deacon in his lust for power. Not all of them stick around, but it's interesting to see how they fit in when they're there.
This is one book where you have to expect a whole lot of sex or you're going to be overwhelmed by it. Guys, the sex is epic. Dare I say... it's an orgy of delight. No lie. There's sex and then there's sex with a sex coven. This book is the latter.
"I received this book as a review copy in return for an honest review" I just love this trilogy! The way K.D. brings in new characters to the story is amazing. I always wonder where she is going to go with the new characters. They bring in so much more life to the story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat because you never know what Deacon is going to do next! I wish I had an Anderson in my life. He is amazing! This was a wonderful story and everyone brings in something new in every book. If you like trilogies this is a great one to read!
Fantastic- an excellent sequel to Body Temperature and Rising. Body Temperature really needs to be read first to get the full wonder Riding the Ether- but trust me, it well worth it!! This is an amazing series!!! Roll on part three.
I absolutely adored Body Temperature Rising, it enveloped me from the very first page and I can honestly say its my favourite ever paranormal erotica and Riding the Ether was no exception. The book starts directly where it left off from Body Temperature Rising, although its a stand alone book, to get the full effect and to understand the main characters its best to have read BTR. BTR was about Marie and Tims love affair and a brilliant introduction into the world of magic and demons. You connect with all the main characters and cant wait to follow them through into Riding the Ether.
This amazing fast paced read introduces us to Cassandra Larkin and her special secret of why she has a ravenous sexual appetite and only 1 man, the gorgeous Anderson can satisfy her needs and is strong enough to ride into the ether to enjoy deep passionate sex. We watch as their journeys for passionate sex become dangerous as the infamous Deacon is about to return as he discovers Cassandra's secret and wants to use it to plan revenge and the whole coven needs to stand together if they are to survive and stop this demon. .....But has Deacon found a new victim to taunt and torture to convince/bribe to make him into human form again? We follow Cassandra as she learns more about her mysterious past but remains terrified of her own powers, but she needs to embrace them and learn fast with the help of the coven to help stop this evil before he finds his way back. We also continue following Marie and Tim who are now fully fledged members of the coven at Elemental cottage with Tara high priestess teaching them everything she can, quickly transforming them into formidable witches. Familiar characters from BTR Sky and Fiori are also back and fully involved into book 2.
Opinion Wow what a great book another breathless read from the library of KD Grace, she has a magnetic way of drawing us into her books and not being able to put it down till the last page. We are pulled into this fascinating world of sex magic with dark forces lurking nearby. Not only do we have great sex of every flavour with lesbian, gay, ménage and more ...oh and even straight; we have a brilliant plot and storyline, each and every character is relatable making it feel like it could be anyone of us, the sex is steamy hot and completely believable. The ending is another great finish leaving you jumping up and down for the 3rd and last book of the triliogy..oh my how am I going to manage till March 2013 eeep. Another great read, its a thrilling suspense and if you love the paranormal erotica this trilogy is for you, if you haven't read Body Temperature Rising grab this book first to learn the full depth of Riding the ether, its completely addictive.
Picking up after the first book, the danger to the characters is increasing, and the Elementals are facing threats from a Demon who wants to piggyback to earth to wreak havoc. As I had hoped, characters are firming up their stories, and their voices are getting more individualized and dynamic as the story is progressing. With a return of the relationship of Marie and Tim, and the introduction of the very flawed Cassandra and her lover Anderson there are several characters to enjoy or despise depending on your perspective.
Of course, much of the recharge of the coven’s magic is gathered through sexual activity – and there is plenty of that in nearly every configuration, to light all fires! From ménage to lesbian, gay and even straight (although not vanilla) combinations and scenes, the book fairly scorches your fingertips while the story has you dying to know who prevails in the battle to outwit the demon.
With suspense enough to bring you to the edge of your seat, and a solid mystery and evident teamwork from members in the coven this book will keep you turning pages to the end.
I received an eBook from the author for purpose of honest review for the Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
This second book in the series picks up right where the first left off as the coven has to work together to fight the increasingly powerful demon, Deacon. In this story we have Cassandra, who has a unique ability that can only be brought out fully by the ghost Anderson. They can only be together in the Ether though which can be dangerous, so their attraction could get them killed. Cassandra wants answers though and is willing to brave everything to get them as her coven needs her. She must embrace her past for the future she wants with Anderson. This story is hot from the beginning and as sex is what fuels them, you see lots of sexual encounters. Surprisingly, these scenes gave great insight into the characters and I found myself completely immersed in their lives. Along with the main characters you get a glimpse of characters from the past who add to an already exciting and fast-paced story that leaves you clamoring for the next installment.
This trilogy must be read in order. It is a must read for any fans paranormal erotic fans. It has some amazing paranormal elements and is incredibly erotic.
