A sexy contemporary romance novel...

"Packed with exciting twists and turns, Jaded is a sexy, thought-provoking, white-knuckle thrill ride. Don't open it if you can't afford to stay up all night." Diana Spechler, author of Skinny

Syeesha Green knew something wasn’t right the second she entered her office. And within minutes of her arrival, she was back on the street again. Fired. Fine for a wealthy twenty-something with an Ivy League education. Not so fine for a thirty-year-old legal secretary who’s also struggling through law school. To make matters worse, she doesn’t have anyone to lean on for help.

In the midst of a new job hunt, Syeesha meets Christian Chambers, the ambitious younger man she’s never noticed in class before. It isn’t long before the two fall in love. Relationship, one. Career, zilch.

Soon, however, Syeesha lands a job as personal assistant for Jade McCann, a rich politician’s wife. Syeesha looks up to Jade and enjoys working in the glitzy New York penthouse. Finally, the pieces of her life are falling into place again. Until Jade reveals the real seduce Jade’s handsome husband. It’s the only way Jade can void her prenup. If Syeesha obliges, she’ll collect a cool quarter million bucks. Or so Jade says. If she doesn’t, Jade has sufficient evidence to frame Syeesha with grand theft-an allegation that could ruin her legal career before it even begins.

Syeesha must decide if the much-needed cash is worth losing her self-respect, and the love of her life. Or maybe she’s learned enough tricks from Jade to devise a financially lucrative scheme of her own...

“jaded: The end result of having a steady flow of negative experiences, disappointment, and unfulfillment fed into a person where they get to the point where their anger circuits just sort of burn out and they accept disillusionment.” Urban Dictionary

After three years of dedicated work at a seemingly prestigious law firm, Syeesha Green is dismissed. To say that she was in a state of shock is an understatement. Syeesha planned on finishing law school and working her way up the firm ladder. Now she must find work else where or be evicted, that is if her room mate from hell hasn’t already done that.

Jade McCann is a congressman’s wife, but she fears he is starting to go back to his cheating ways. She goes to an attorney to find out what her options are and much to her dismay she finds she is bonded to the prenup. One provision stands out though, if Jade can prove her husband is cheating, she will get everything she wants. But how can she prove it? Jade devises a plot to entrap her husband in the arms of another woman and that woman is Syeesha. Syeesha is under the impression she is being hired as Jade’s assistant, but of course Jade has other plans. Will Syeesha give in to the enticement of money or will she stand on her morals?

What a juicy plot, no? I was really intrigued by the web that the author has weaved in this book. Even though it is a story of two women from “different sides of town” they are placed in the same space to work out their personal baggage for all the readers to see. It also shows how, just because someone has it all doesn’t mean they are happy and content. No matter what our background, race or financial situation, we are all women with our share of problems. I would highly recommend this book to all the “sisters” out there. Oh and wait until you read the ending; you won’t believe what happens.

Received as a giveaway on goodreads.com first reads. Thank you for choosing me and I look forward to reading it. The old adage, you can't judge a book by its cover doesn't apply here. When I saw the picture on this book, I just knew the book was going to be good. I don't know how I knew; I just knew. I was not disappointed! Rhonda Eason, I must commend you on a job well done! I haven't had a belly laugh like this in a minute. Syreesha Green was a work in progress but I enjoyed her jpurney to self discovery and truth. The story flowed smoothly and it was grammtically on point. Jade and her husband were characters. I was touched by the sensitivity you showed when writing about his condition. The end was not what I expected but it was the right thing, I felt convicted, lol because I wanted vengeance.

Really like it! There are lots of crazy secrets and surprises in this story! Syeesha: Imagine you arrive at your desk on Monday morning only to discover you were "let go" last Friday and nobody told you. How are you supposed to pay your bills now? Jade: Imagine you intend to divorce your lying. cheating, arrogant husband and then discover the Pre-Nup will leave you penniless. What do you do now? Well, the worlds of these two women are about to collide and cause an explosion that will hurt an awful lot of people. Awesome story!

Jade is certain her rich, famous husband has been unfaithful to her – and she wants out of her marriage. The only problem is that she signed a pre-nup agreement that will, basically, leave her with nothing if she divorces him – unless she can prove he is having an affair. She decides to hire someone to seduce her husband – complete with photos – in order to get the proof she needs. Syeesha Green seems perfect for the job – young, beautiful, and desperate.
This story is told from each of the women’s point of view – and you get to know them both fairly well. I enjoyed reading it – it definitely kept me engaged to the very end. I needed to find out if Syeesha was going to do the morally right thing, or give in to the lure of the large amount of money Jade was going to pay her. It made me wonder what I would do if in her circumstances.
I liked this book (loved the play on words of the title), and am glad I won it through the Goodreads Firstreads program. I am looking forward to more from this author!
