A bit of a disappointment for me. Nothing really gripped me in this story. I felt like I was spinning my wheels trying to read it. It just never seemed to take off. I usually enjoy the Love Inspired novels but this one just wasn't for me.

Just a light and fluffy book that was a bit predictable, but enjoyable. I wish there was a bit more to the story and more character development. The ending seemed sort of rushed, and I don't think the theme verse really fits with the plot of the book.

But I read this book for the sake of reading, so it was good for a few hours of enjoyment.

Ugh, I should not have waited this long to review this. I can't even remember what I liked and didn't like about the book. For the most part I think I did enjoy this book. I liked seeing Emily come back home and realize that her home isn't as bad a she thinks. And it was cute to see Drew and Emily get together and become a couple. However, they just lacked communication and made too many assumptions. I really wish they would have talked it out more about their reasons for staying or for leaving. I don't think Drew realized how hard of a time Emily had in school, and that she only wanted him to go back to New York so they could be together. However, I was intrigued about Emily's niece and her story. Her's is later in the series, so I might try that, but honestly I just wasn't impressed enough with this book. It was a good read in the moment, but obviously not very memorable as I can't even remember it like a week later to write a review.

I love this book. Definite keeper. It ended rather abruptly I feel, but it was overall a good story.

What a wonderful story!

Emily Hazard, otherwise known as “Jinx” to her family and friends in Paradox Lake, returns home to help out her brother while he’s away. But she didn’t expect to get rear-ended her first day back…

Drew Stacey just happens to be working at the campground — and close enough to cause rumors that would make them both uncomfortable.

As much as she loves her brother — and his daughter — Emily had no idea when she volunteered to help him, that Autumn would push the limits as much as she does. She’s even more surprised when she hears Drew talking about his kids!

Jean C. Gordon has a unique style of writing stories that sound perfectly true. I guess that’s why I get pulled into them so easily — and find myself unable to stop read until I’ve reached the end. But even better, last week I read all 4 books in this series in 4 nights! By the time Friday came around, I was almost convinced that if I drove north until I found Paradox Lake, that I’d enjoy meeting everyone. I might even be convinced to stay!

Don’t take my word for it . . . pick up the entire series and read them for yourself. You’re gonna love them…

Happy Reading!

I would have liked this so much more if it didn't have them go to the County Fair on a Sunday! It just kills me when people break the Sabbath and think it's not a big deal! Off my soapbox, I enjoyed how slow the relationship was and how they really got to know each other. I liked the ending and the time she spent really thinking about her options! I liked her character, but didn't like how whiney she was. Poor thing, got a bad nickname when she was a kid, so never wants to go back? It's sad that things like that happen, but we're adults, move on! If you don't like the nickname, tell people! Drew is super nice, a well-done male lead.

Emily comes to play guardian to her niece, the niece is not a baby but a teenager, She runs into Drew (well really the other way around) but they seem to keep tripping over each other. Does that have anything to do with her nickname? Drew turns out to not only be her brother's friend, but is also her neighbor that is going to help with Autumn. It's fun to watch the ups and downs and all their self doubts keeping the electricity between them on high voltage. This is a relaxing read, perfect for the beach, vacation, or curled up in front of a fire. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.
