There was a ton of great information in here. The author made efforts to organize the content, but I would have appreciated more reminders throughout the text that tactics in chapter 3 only work in the pre-rut, four in the main rut, etc. I think each chapter would be improved by including a list summarizing the stands to hunt, deer behavior to be aware of, etc. for that portion of the season.

I enjoyed the stories of the author's hunts. I always wonder when I read this author, is he sponsored by Ambush Saddles and Scent-Lok? I have no doubt he truly believes in the gear, but the sheer number of times he says "Ambush Saddle" and "Scent-Lok" is a little crazy.

Good book full of practical info about what the title suggests. Lots of talk about saddles and ScentLok clothing, but it is also full of strategies and tactics and insight into killing that big mature buck. One of the better Eberhart books.

Great book by a legend

John And Chris Eberhart are revolutionizing the hunting industry. I was introduced to saddle hunting and his tips for scent control and how to hunt sign are some of the best out there.

Very good information within. Definitely curious about the ambush sling/stand. Parts of the book
do come across as a sales pitch though, its no wonder Mr. Eberhart is a spokesman for Scent-lok.
Good overall read.
