Book 2: Bred
Rothguard has but one desire, to rid himself of the overwhelming urge to mate and free his mind to focus on science. Being Bred means to be forever enslaved, to the Born and his own physiological needs. In order to free himself and the Breds still in captivity he requires a Bred female to study. His life as a sex slave taught him about a woman’s fickle pleasures, but his work demands more information, no matter how distasteful he might find the chore.
Seven years after the mysterious disappearance of her Only One, Mel spends her time tending Bred infants and tormented by the memories of her lost love. When a Cyborg soldier comes for her, Mel’s dormant passions surge to life. In his arms she’s found what she thought irreparably lost. If only she knew how to prove to Rothguard that her love for him is pure. Will his dark secrets destroy them both?

I'm glad I got to find out more about Allure; but they still didn't tell about her child and the future of the combining of the races. I now hope for the best for Rothguard and Mel and the child they have conceived. I can't wait to read Borg it will be the most exciting since it's the end result.

I really enjoyed the second installment of the series. I am a sucker for a story about two characters with a sad backstory coming together to sooth each other's hurt. Also read this on audio and really enjoyed the narration.

Bless! Poor rothguard.
This universe is brutal! I would say the storyline is almost to the point of erotica more than a romance troupe.

Storyline I feel is secondary to sexual content.

I liked the premise of this and the struggle of both main characters to overcome their limitations. This book made more sense having read the first one in the series - I think I would not have enjoyed it as much if I hadn’t read the first.

A great sequel to the "B Cubed" series of a futuristic world populated by the natural and superior Born, the genetically altered Bred who are used as slave labor, and the modified Cyborg who appear to be a rogue group intent on salvation through prophecy. The world-building is great, but only enough really to whet my appetite - I want to know more about these societies and how they have evolved on a planet which has stopped its rotations.

The story instead focuses on the relationship between Rothgard, a Bred who's been rescued and altered into a Borg, and Mel, a Bred who's also rescued from her Born masters and used as a sexual experiment by Rothgard. The move from Insta-Lust to Insta-Love was a little abrupt, as the story in my opinion was too short. The emotional connection between the couple seemed real, however, particularly since Mel was a very likeable female character, a rare trait in romance novels of most kinds these days.

Recommended for readers of futuristic romance. A good read.

Nice second story in the series. A few editing errors but still enjoyable. I was expecting a little more world-building because the premise of a disposable Bred human workforce in a harsh environment is very appealing but it barely wet my appetite. I really wished the concept was more fleshed out because of it's potential.

Another sizzling read. Love her story but quite a few editing errors in this one. Always yanks you out of the "movie."
