Jim Arndt is nationally recognized photographer, with many books to his credit including Art of the Boot, The Cowboy Boot Book, and 100 Years of Western Wear. His work has been published and exhibited internationally.

Short history of their origins, development of trends, role in our cultural lives, design trends, construction. Few pages at the end with tips on custom designing, care, and fitting. Great color photos throughout (book is small, about 5x5 inches). List of museums, makers, and vintage dealers at the end. Purchased (used) as a gift for a certain chimpanzee woman who I hope will like it very much.

A small but gorgeous paperback filled with full-color photographs of over 300 pairs of beautiful cowboy boots. Some of Beard's historical remarks seem slightly improbable to me (I've been studying the West since I was 15!), but the pictures are great.

Lots of great pics! Love this little ditty. References some of the boots from the 1950's.
