Every day, I would wake up, go to work, and fight like hell to protect my city. It’s difficult being a cop, but it fills that void inside of me that stems from my traumatic past. The need to see those that do wrong in the world get their comeuppance. Then one cloudy, drizzly day, everything changes. My job was about to get a whole lot harder when my city is attacked by aliens, and my life is changed forever.
There may be a light in the attack's darkness. A woman with the most striking green eyes that can see everything. They call her the Oracle. She was the reason the aliens had attacked Earth. I always knew that the Oracle held my destiny, and with the Oracle's involvement, fate was thrusting me into a completely foreign world, overwhelming me, but I realize that I never felt more alive.
There’s been a war between my people and our enemies for years. They killed our people, nearly making our alien species extinct. Our future looks bleak since we have no more female mates to reproduce with. Then our enemy decides to invade the strangest planet I have ever seen. Earth , they call it. During a meeting with these humans to help fight the enemy together, I meet her . My mate.
Megan is the first human female I have ever laid eyes on. My shock at meeting her is beyond comprehension to me, an alien who never expected to meet his mate on a backward, nearly extinct planet like Earth . Is this the fate that the universe has planned for the Orion?
One day you wake up and go in to work like any other day, and the next thing you know shift change becomes an alien invasion. Only it’s not just one species of alien that show up but two one grey with big black eyes destroying everything looking for a seer and the other hunting down those beings. The hunters are none other that the Orion’s; a male species who are tall, statuesque with long black hair, horns and wings! Did I mention they mate with humans and like to share? Megan just so happens to be the first of many mates to find her place with the Orion’s. With aid from the Oracle the human race and Orion’s work together and begin removing the alien threat but their story doesn’t end there. Can’t wait to see what Meg comes up with next! Spice level: 4
I was skeptical before starting this sci-fi read; firstly, it was the second book in a series, and secondly, there was also a concept of RH in it, which I rarely read, but when I started reading, I was flown into it like running water.
The way the story started, I didn't feel as if I missed something. Megan, the female lead, was bold, beautiful, and determined to protect her people and her country, a cop by profession and knew she was destined for something big.
Iris, the Emperor of Orions, was waiting for the right time to take revenge on their arch-enemies, the Slivits. When the Slivits attacked Earth in search of Orcale, Orions came to help the human beings against the Slivits.
Iris had no idea that he would find his mate on earth, but one look at Megan and he knew that she was his mate.
The chemistry between Megan and Iris was sizzling hot, and the same was with her other mates. I really liked Iris's character; he was just the perfect Emperor, loyal to his people, and a true leader who was not only thinking about his people but also the well-being of other species.
Talis and Valis were also the best; I loved their communication with each other in their own minds. I also liked Cian as her human mate; his jealousy and possessiveness were quite evident, and he took his own time to adapt to this kind of arrangement.
They were all destined to be together to fight for their own people in their respective worlds, but would they be able to end the Slivits? Would they all come out as fighters, and how would destiny plan the mating of other orions with female humans?
Also, multiple POVs kept the story intriguing.
It was a bold, sci-fi read, and it did take me to a new world. The author's writing skills were amazing, and the way the author explained the details of all the technology in intricate detail would amaze you, and you would yearn to read the further stories. The high-tech world, which was described in palpable detail, was amazing to read, and I loved it thoroughly.
Meg has done it again. She has continued the story of Earth, Slivits, and the Orion in this epic second book of her series.
This time, we follow Megan, a badass cop sent as part of the delegate to meet with the Orion. Little does Megan know this is the start of her destiny.
The chemistry between Megan and her mates is *chefs kiss*. I love how Meg takes the time to make it realistic with some of the bonds taking a little longer to develop than other.
The world building and character development is done with ease, dialogue flows and you feel engrossed in this version of our world.
I'm excited for the next installment and to see what comes next!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book and could not be more grateful for the opportunity!
Now let's get into it, if you are looking for something with a strong FMC, an author who knows how to develop a world and settings, not to mention a whole delicious handful of men (including twins!) then this is 10000% up your alley! Oh did I also mention... THIS IS A SCI-FI ROMANCE DONE RIGHT!!!
Megan's story is of a strong badass cop who gets sent to meet with Orion, who by the way, and unknown to Megan is the start of her true destiny! I won't say more other than defiantly check this book out it's a spicy sci-fi story with delicious eye candy!!
This book has why choose, insta love/mates, force proximity, a strong FMC, and lots of spice. Express:Megan is part of a series but I read it as a standalone. I would definitely recommend reading the synopsis of book 1 and 2 before reading to make sure you understand the story.
My favorite part of this book is that it incorporated the dual POV of Megan and her mates. It was fast paced with each chapter highlighting the day and time with the progress of the alien invasion. This was a good balance between the action and Megan building her relationship with her new partners which is ideal in a good why choose read.
Empress: Megan is a RH, Why Choose, sci-fi, multiple POV, with ALIENS!!
I adore sci-fi and this did not disappoint. Fantastic world building, clean descriptions of the amazing alien tech, and a nice glimpse into the both the human and alien backgrounds that make the story unfold in a seamless way that is easy to follow. The FMC is a fierce and determined individual I would love to have in my corner (and sit down and have a drink with!). The aliens she meets are intelligent, smexy, kind, and have special peen!! Vivid details that do not disappoint! Empress: Megan takes place at the same time as book 1 -Oracle: Mia. After an epic battle the characters from book 1 converge with the story taking place in this book. It is such a welcome to have the characters you have already fallen for enter the story and then continue on. I am excited to see what happens next after everything EXPLODES!!
This book holds a special place in my heart and I cannot wait to see how the author keeps developing into such a fantastic storyteller.
Empress: Megan is the second book in the The Oracle's Journey Series. Although, this is a different storyline in this series, it is HIGHLY recommended to read Oracle: Mia first, to avoid any confusion.
This was such an amazing story!! The world building is phenomenal and Meg Stratton will keep you at the edge of your seat!! I truly love this series!! Definitely anticipating whatever comes next!!
I am new to Megan's books and haven't read the first one yet but after reading this one, I am curious as to Mia's story. Love the connected-ness of the characters and how interesting that these aliens change people's lives - that will make sense when you read this book. If you like reverse harems with gorgeous aliens, destiny and a good subplot to save the earth this book will perfect
This is an awesome sci- fi romance book. Does it have a sequel? I would buy it if it does. Great story. The Orion are interesting aliens and the involvement with Earthlings is unique. I enjoyed this book.
