Fe auténtica: Volvamos al verdadero cristianismo

Rate this book
In this collectin of essays, Tozer calls each of us to truly examine our hearts and stop simply playing at religion so that we can experience all that God has for us. Until the day he died, A. W. Tozer never deviated from exhorting the church to walk like those who truly belong to the kingdom of God.

Aiden Wilson Tozer was an American evangelical pastor, speaker, writer, and editor. After coming to Christ at the age of seventeen, Tozer found his way into the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination where he served for over forty years. In 1950, he was appointed by the denomination's General Council to be the editor of "The Alliance Witness" (now "Alliance Life").

Born into poverty in western Pennsylvania in 1897, Tozer died in May 1963 a self-educated man who had taught himself what he missed in high school and college due to his home situation. Though he wrote many books, two of them, "The Pursuit of God" and "The Knowledge of the Holy" are widely considered to be classics.

A.W. Tozer and his wife, Ada Cecelia Pfautz, had seven children, six boys and one girl.

A book by Tozer is always a thought provoking read. "Reclaiming Christianity" is no exception. While not agreeing with him on everything, I found his assessment of the modern church to be spot on and his call for a return to the reality and power of biblical Christianity to be both stirring and convicting. Obviously recommended reading.

Tozer writes about the power of the gospel in the spiritual life of man. The transforming power of God's word and the Holy Spirit. The book discusses how the watering down of these things in the church makes it weaker. I love Tozer's points and his passion for the church.

Great

I have not read one book by Tozer that I have not loved. This book is no exception. Chapters are fairly short and written in his classic straightforward style. Highly recommend for all believers!

I thought it was kind of a mixed bag. There are definitely some good parts though. I might be a good read for a new christian. It was a pretty easy read.

As always Tozer's books have depth and they are blessings for modern Christianity by not shying in telling the naked true and not covering and sugarcoat God's true and His Word!

If you like your toes stepped on, this is the book for you. Tozer is no holds bar when it comes to rebuking the church for its lack of faithfulness to the Lord. I plan on reading it again and highlighting key points because there was so many times that I had to stop and think. He doesn't teach anything new, but he says it in a way that may bring old truths to life. It is a compilation of his messages so the book doesn't flow that smoothly but it will not disappoint in helping you reclaim what your purpose is as a Christian.

i love tozer so much - the way he talks about the Lord is so sweet, and his truths are so firmly set with love. he doesn't back down - ever - from his gospel-centered convictions. one thing i love is that he speaks to you as though a child - in the sense that he breaks it down to all the basics. his observations in this book were profoundly poignant to me...as important to this generation as any other. loved this book.

It was ticking away slowly I was happy to go along with it, I had a sense there had to be more than just a case of amnesia to the book. Enjoyed the book and just couldn't wait to finish it. Clever plot.

I always love Tozer. He is able to put so many things so. Learly. So this was a good book. Not my favorite of Tozer's books. Others have had more of an impact. But still. Good book and a good call to real Christianity.

I did not feel like this was a book with much profound theological analysis, however it is great if you want to keep fresh in mind the basic truths of Cristianity. I felt like reading a sermon, but this kind of books are good under some circumastances.

I really like Tozer. He writes clearly, he encourages, he loves the Lord and the Church. People struggling with the current trends of churches looking for cultural acceptance will like this book.

Everyone who is not affraid to be confronted, must read this Book. With a toungue of a profet and the pen of a writer, Tozer gives a perspective, Biblical and Historical of actual christianity state.

Tozer absolutely comes across as having a God driven passion for the chrich. Not sure I agree with the majority of his premises in this book though. Nevertheless a worthwhile read.
