...A large presence settled behind me. I knew without turning around what I would find, but still I turned.... ...and faced the Dragon. About Bella World Bella is tired of getting blamed every time her sisters lose something. It's not her fault they misplaced something important, so why does everyone assume she took it? It makes her blood boil that no one appreciates all the things she does to help and protect people. Sometimes her anger makes her do things she regrets later. When she, her two sisters, and their dog TayTay find a watery portal to Bella World, they're surprised to discover a town ravaged by Dragon attacks. But not all is as it seems, a lesson Bella learns when they are sent to stop the Dragon. Together, Bella and Emerald the Dragon learn to control their Dragon Fire, make amends to those they have wronged, and in the process find the appreciation and acceptance they'd sought all along. Kimberly Kinrade was born with ink in her veins and magic in her heart. She writes romance (contemporary and paranormal), fantasy and paranormal stories for all ages and still believes in magic worlds.
She lives with her three little girls who think they're ninja princesses with super powers, and her husband, also known as the sexy Russian Prince, who is the love of her life and writing partner.
Bella World is not your average dragon story. There are many surprises in this story that are sure to entertain kids and grown-ups alike. Bella World also contains an important message. It presents to the reader, in a way kids will like, a fuller understanding of one's emotions. The story illustrates how the emotions that lead to stealing, lying, prejudging and, most of all, anger, can be better expressed through honesty, empathy and self-understanding. I think this book will help kids feel empowered, like a dragon, to do the right thing and feel good about it! Bella World is a well-written, emotionally refreshing read for kids and dragon lovers of all ages. Kimberly Kinrade has done a superb job creating a magical story, one which is delightfully complimented by Josh Evans's colorful, expressive and action-packed illustrations.
Here we are with THE THREE LOST KIDS, Book two BELLA WORLD.

She becomes angry over the accusation. When her mother tries to confront her about taking the mirror, Bella storms out of the house. She heads for an area where the kids are not allowed venture.
Her sisters find her sleeping under a tree by the lake. Something terrible happens and they end up in the water and find themselves in Bella World.
They find out from the town's people of Bella World that a dragon is stealing their valuables and burning the town down around them. So this must be the reason they have been transported to Bella World.
They must find the dragon and find out why it is being so destructive. Bella knows dragons are suppose to be nice and help people, not cause trouble for them.
Excerpt from the Discussion Question at the end of the story.
1. Have you ever felt like someone didn't appreciate you for what you did for them? How did you handle it?
2. What are some things you can do to calm down and make smart choices when you get angry?
Sometimes anger can cause more harm to us than than to the person or situation we are angry at or about. It is like a flame that keeps getting bigger and bigger making it hard to put out the fire. There is no telling how much damage you end up causing to others and yourself.
So let your little light shine!
The author has done it again! Wonderful story that teaches moral values in a way that children can grasp the meaning.
The illustrations created the characters and background images with vibrant colors to depict the true meaning of the author's story.
I highly recommend this book.
I rated this book a 5 out of 5.
Disclosure I received a free digital copy of this book from Evolved for review. I was in no way compensated for this review. It is my own opinion.
It is no secret I am a huge Kinrade fan, and Bella World was certainly no exception. Kimberly Kinrade has used her own daughters as the jumping off point for the creation of magic worlds, where these girls transform into super-heroes.
Bella is the typical middle child, often feeling a bit left out by her sisters and angry at the world. She doesn't understand her anger, and dreams of making a splash, being noticed. But she isn't a show-off, she wants to be noticed for doing something wonderful, something magical.
After a fight with her sisters over a stolen mirror, Bella finds herself tumbling through a lake into the magical Bella World. Luckily, she finds her sisters unharmed on the other side. Unfortunately, the good feelings do not last very long when Bella finds her magical namesake is being terrorized by a nasty dragon. Only, she doesn't quite understand because she imagined her world would be home to happy, magical dragons.
Tasked with ending the Dragon's life does not sit well with Bella or her sisters, but she cannot watch her townspeople continue to suffer. The girls and their guide, Ladon, set off on an adventure to find the Dragon and save the town. Throughout the story, Bella learns about anger, apologizing and taking responsiblity for her actions.
Kinrade writes beautifully, as usual. Some of her word choices may be a bit difficult for children to read on their own, however I do not think this is a drawback to the story. Instead, I think it opens up an opportunity for parents to read to their children, and for older children to read to their younger siblings. After all, I'm a firm believer that learning to read's first requirement is learning to love books.
Bella World is the second book in the series, and after reading Lexie World, I was happy to jump right into this book. Bella World is about Bella, and her two sisters, who now know of magical realms hidden in a path in the woods. Much like in Lexie World, once the girls find themselves in Bella’s world, they’re quickly met with amazing creatures and people. They find a quaint town, now ravaged by a dangerous dragon, and it’s up to Bella to save the town and its people.
Again, Kinrade has done a superb job of weaving valuable lessons into an entertaining story. Lessons that are good for both kids and parents. The timing of reading this book couldn’t have been better for me, dealing with a daughter on the cusp of ‘tween’, and helping her learn how to deal with her emotions.
This book does a wonderful job of teaching how to handle feelings, how to make the right choices, and how our choices create circumstance. It’s a hard lesson to teach, to children and us (often stubborn) adults, but Kinrade has managed to tap into strong core values and paint them into a beautiful story.
As I said after reading the first book in the series, I would gladly pick up any of Kinrade’s books and share them with my kids. Because they’re not only interesting stories, they’re wonderful lessons for us both. And what better way to learn them, than by reading it together as a family. Kinrade is again worthy of applause for an amazing book added to the series. I would be happy to read the next in the series, and highly recommend it to kids and parents alike.
I love this book. Everyone (regardless of age) should take time out and read children's books. Kimberly Kinrade is one of the best storytellers today. Her children's books are modern day fables. I especially like the "Discussion Questions" at the end. I think it helps create a special understanding and bonding with your child or the child you read it to.
