It is dedicated to the modeling of asynchronous and synchronous machine, both in steady-state and in dynamic regime. In dynamic modeling, the differential equations written in variables "abc" of the machine are transformed to an arbitrary reference system "dq" in order to simplify the equations of the machine. The state space equations are assembled, allowing the analysis in dynamic regime of the symmetric machine and also the asymmetric machine. The steady-state of the asynchronous and synchronous machine is analyzed using the equivalent circuit. A subchapter is dedicated to the analysis of the stability and excitation of a excited three-phase synchronous machine in the steady-state regime. Finally, this volume shows a chapter where the principles of application of three-phase machines for different industrial loads are analyzed, where the different driving methods are analyzed, including the drive with a frequency converter.
