A native of south Louisiana, Farrah Rochon officially began her writing career while waiting in between classes in the student lounge at Xavier University of Louisiana. After earning her Bachelors of Science degree and a Masters of Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University, Farrah decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a published novelist. She was named Shades of Romance Magazine's Best New Author of 2007. Her debut novel, Deliver Me, the first in her Holmes Brothers series, garnered rave reviews, earning Farrah several SORMAG Readers' Choice Awards.
In September 2010, Farrah joined the Kimani Romance family with the launch of her new series that follows the life of the fictional New York Sabers football team.
When she is not writing in her favorite coffee shop, Farrah spends most of her time reading her favorite romance novels, hanging around on Twitter, and trying to attend as many Broadway shows as her budget will allow. An admitted sports fanatic, Farrah feeds her addiction to football by watching New Orleans Saints games on Sunday afternoons.
3.5* Theo is an ex-football player turned sports analyst. Deirdre is a single mother who is the top chef in her restaurant (her brother owns the restaurant). She was the caretaker of her brother when he was younger before he grew up and was drafted by the NFL. He and Theo used to play for the same team. Her brother (Terrian) is now a coach. With her 40th birthday approaching, she decides to let loose and be wild. This gives her the choice to be courageous and do something she's wanted to do. She's had a crush on Theo (and he her). This works because they have a shared history (friends first). After dancing around their mutual attraction and making assumptions, they do have an adult conversation and all is laid out on the table (so to speak). The misunderstanding was so stupid and Theo was an asshole. Ripped Bodice Bingo Hawaii square
Good story. I hope there's more to come in the future from this series. I enjoyed each book. I thought the narrator did a good job bringing the characters to life.
Speaking from first hand experience, it is sooooo hard to transition from caregiver to being a full on grown man or woman and give into the urges that come with it. I haven’t figured it out but Deidre our lead female after some convincing and deliberate attempts to invite some excitement into her life is definitely in the right track. It also doesn’t hurt that the object of her affection is a mature male who is a retired athlete! But will be be patient and kind with her heart and feelings while she figures things out? Definitely worth the read to find out.
Another great book in the Sabers series. Farrah Rochon does it again with her stories of my two favorite things, Romance and Football! Theo and Deirdre are perfect together. I hope there is more books to come in this exciting series!
In the previous books Theo and Dee had palpable tension between one another. This story pulled back the curtain to their relationship. Theo had given up hope on something more with Dee after being turned down multiple times. He decided in order to protect his heart He would keep his distance. Unbeknownst to Theo, Dee hated the distance. She missed their easy going friendship, but most of all she missed him. She turned him down because she didn't want to be his safe choice, and she wanted to protect her heart from falling any deeper. Both of them happen to be attending the pro bowl in Hawaii and it seemed to be a case of right place at the right time because they let their inhibitions down and finally pursued more. They had a great connection. Dee was clearly his peace. While Theo was her safety net, she felt seen as well. Both of them were a sense of encouragement for the other.
Overall it was a good story. I felt like they indexed too much on the "new" Deirdre, we got it she wanted to change. It was completely okay to love in herself without this constant reminder. I didn't like that there was no mention of Jared when that story ended abruptly. It seemed like there was lack of closure there. I would read more books in regards to all of these characters.
As an older young woman this book hit on a lot of situations that are quite similar to mine. Not saying I'm going to make a bucket list, but I am going to challenge myself to live life everyday happy, grateful, thankful and have lots of fun and to enjoy life because as you and I know we only have one life to live. It's just even better when you have someone to share it with. I'm glad Theo and Dee discovered and acted on what they truly felt for each other. Great Read! ReneeG 👍
I have just finished reading the last book in this series. They were all great books. They were short but exciting never boring. I enjoyed the friendship between brothers, and the love for family. Great series. Hopefully you write an update book about the four friends and their families
This book was really entertaining and I am glad that the author included their story in the series. If you're trying to figure out if you should but and read this book then you should!! If you dont, you're going to be annoyed and mad for not completing the series. Great job Farrah Rochon!!! Ready for more please!!
Pleasure Rush is my favorite in the New YorkSabers Football series! I enjoyed all the books in the series, but Theo and Dee were a long time coming, as I got some hints about them in the first book already. And who doesn't love Oahu? The setting was beautiful, and the characters were just outstanding.
I enjoyed the Audiobook as I am a fan of Ja'Air Bush and her narration. The love story between Theo & Deirdre was great and because I read from the last to the front, I am excited to hear how the other couples got together. Will definitely recommend this series and make it a point to state the order. Thank you Farrah Rochon for the introduction to this series.
I enjoyed this tale of two older characters who connect during a holiday in Hawaii. The lead female character has a nearly grown son, and I loved the interaction between her, and the male lead.
This book is a great taster of Farrah Rochon's writing, and I've since bought other books by her.
This is Deirdre and Theo story The Last of the series he has been chasing her since the second book and they finally get together more of the same man chases woman woman runs away tries to fight it they end up getting back together.
Great story about realizing who we are and putting one's needs first. Theo and Deidre both discovered that they couldn't live without each other. The importance of family and friends and doing the right thing.
It's about time that Theo and Deirdre finally got together especially after she turned him down the three times that he asked her out. I'm glad that everything worked out for them.
I loved Deirdre and Theo's story . I had been anticipating it since the first book and was not disappointed. I did miss Jared and Chyna in it though. Both Theo and Dee were put to the test and came out on top.
Very good read. Theo and Deirdra have been interested in each other from book 1, I couldn't wait to get to their story and it did not disappoint. The flow was really good. The ending however I was expecting more
This is the second novel I’ve read by this author. I love this series. The romance between Theo and Dierdra was very cute and had me craving that romance.
