Her aunt's bequest was the answer to Shayla Vincent's prayers. The rustic, secluded cabin was the perfect spot to start her long-deferred writing career.
Ian O'Connell was her new neighbor—a rugged rancher caring for his two adorable nieces. Yet Shayla had already helped bring up her siblings. Raising another family when her career goal was within her grasp was the last thing she wanted, even as the brown-eyed cowboy had quickly become the first.

Audiobook: I don't rate or review my own books, but I always like to listen to the audiobook some time after it's released. I loved Leonor Woodworth's narration. I heard each character's voice so clearly.
Sometimes we think God has called us to only one thing with no variation. However, we learn in this story that God’s plans for us are so much better than we could ever imagine. I love how a story could help someone who reads it to come closer to the Lord. I also love this reminder that there are all kinds of Christian books. Very well done!
Have you ever come across a book and think...I'd love to see this as a movie! Well, that's what I want.
From page 1 I was hooked. I love the quirkiness of Shayla Vincent, wanna be mystery writer and the eldest of brood of siblings. Recently widowed, Nat O'Connell isn't quite sure what to make of the curly haired sprite whom he often overhears talking to herself.
Robin Lee Hatcher creates characters who are both relatable, believable and whom you want to bump into in real life. I find her books very easy to sink into and the hours fly by!
This started out cute, and ended up being a like a harlequin romance. I sped read the last few chapters. Pretty disappointing since I do like this author.
Shayla was going to finally start on her dream to be a writer. She had inherited the cabin and a small financial sum. Her neighbor was a handsome cowboy that offered to fix her cabin up if she would clean his house and keep it clean for him. Shayla has quite a few personal problems to deal with and she wasn't ready to deal with the handsome cowboy. This was a fun read and sad at times read. I thought this was a really good book. A wonderful romance.
I enjoyed this story with a modern day cowboy in Idaho. Shayla inherits a cabin in Idaho right next to said cowboy. She’s determined to write a novel but needs someone to make repairs to the cabin. Cowboy needs a housekeeper so they swap services to save money. Read the story to see what happens
Robin Lee Hatcher is a masterful storyteller! What wonderful characters, including the hero's twin six-year-old nieces who are to live with their bachelor uncle for several months. The heroine is attempting to become a Christian novelist among all the hubbub of an Idaho ranch and so many needy relatives herself. A delightful tale.
Trouble in Paradise is a very well written Christian romance. I loved the plot, setting and the characters. Msg. Hatcher has a way with words that pulled me immediately into the story and kept me totally engaged. I highly recommend this book.
A very good read. Opening your heart to love is truly hard for some. Giving seems to be easy for others. The two meet in this book and the fun and lessons learned follows
I like how she incorporated switching from the writing of her novel to the actual story which drew me into the story line. I also like the emphasis on how faith in God and trusting God is the key to a joyful life.
Enjoyable read. I liked the quick pace relationship between Ian and Shayla. They had their share of challenges. I think Honey Girl got lost somewhere along the line. I kept wondering why she wasn’t mentioned especially with the twins around.
Robin Lee Hatcher is a fav when it comes to clean contemporary romance and this book didn't disaapoint even in moments of utter frustration with Shayla (because let's face it 😂we all can be infuriating sometimes when dealing with our purpose and emotions). I totally adored Ian and his ranch . Loved it!
slower moving story about a girl named Shayla who is the oldest of 7 and has spent her 30 years in the shadows helping her younger siblings when what she really wants to do is be a novelist. She gets that opportunity when her aunt dies and leave sher with a cabin and some money. She leave Portland to move to idaho and finds herself needing a little repair on the cabin before winter. Ian is a widower and neighboring rancher who needs some housecleaning in return. little did they now that they would become more than neighbors and friends and help each other full fill their dreams and goals.
Good quick read, exactly what I was looking for today. Reminded me how God is taking me in a direction I didn't anticipate and I need to trust him.
Update: I read this book again not remembering I'd already read it. Still a fun, well-written book that is an easy read. This time around I liked how Ian recognized his mistakes in his first marriage and relies on God to help him the second time around.
I still think he's an arrogant male though for thinking he can take on 6 year olds with no change in his routine.
Robin Lee Hatcher does a great job writing and interesting story without stressing out the reader. You know the characters will work out their differences & fall in love, but you care enough to see them through the bumps in the road. This would make a great hallmark romance. If you need a relaxing read with sweet characters this is a good one to pick up.
I didn't want to put this book down. It is a contemporary story with a great location and characters. The story kept me interested and trying to find more time to read. I am always cautious about giving away too much,so mean in the side of under-sharing . I tend to read less contemporary stories but not at all disappointed in this one.
Ian, a rancher, meets a new neighbor and hopeful writer, Shayla. Praying for God's will in both their lives, they realize that neither of them have to give up their dreams God has given them in order to be together.
