*Author Note: "I received so many emails asking about the queen of Fae who appears in all my Legend books. So here she is--Aaibhe's backstory. This is a stand alone and it is a short story. If you have read the Legend series, you will enjoy and understand this better.
I do so hope you enjoy and thanks so much for giving my Legend series a try. :) Claudy"
Seventy thousand years is a long time to live without true love.
As queen of the Seelie Fae, Aaibhe led her people to a new world when their own had been destroyed by war. She accepted the responsibility of maintaining the magic-built walls that imprisoned the evil Dark Fae. She kept the Seelie Hallows safe. And though she enjoyed the companionship of an occasional Fae lover, she never took a royal Fae as her king or a non-royal as her consort.
Conall is a Druid high priest from the MacTalbots, one of the families chosen by Aaibhe centuries before to perform the rituals needed to strengthen the Unseelie prison walls. Though a skilled and loyal Druid priest, he is but a mortal human, not a fit match for a powerful, formidable, immortal ruler.
And yet… she wants him. In all her seventy thousand years, she has never been blasted with such desire—and need. She has never before laughed with total abandon, loved with all her essence.
In Conall’s arms, Aaibhe discovers she can be both a queen and a woman, but jealousy, pride, and bitterness threaten the love that is at last within her grasp.
Some people have asked me what Shee means. Shee is how Sidhe is pronounced and Sidhe means Fae...so Shee is Fae. :)
I love Aaibhe Shee Queen! As always, Claudy Conn has left me hungry for more. I've been intrigued by her Legend series from the start. Her characters are always so very interesting, well developed, and diverse. And her settings are so deliciously exotic and marvelously detailed that I find myself in her world of Fae each time I read one of the installments.

This was a beautiful little story. Anyone who has not read a lot of books about Faes like me would appreciate it. In the prologue of the story, Queen Aaibhe speaks to us in the first person, telling us the history of her people, the Seelie Fae. While the ending is tragic (something that might turn off a lot of romance readers), it is still poignant and a nice prelude to the rest of the series.
This short story is a prequel to Claudy Conn's Legend series, a collection of books I intend to read! That's just how much I enjoyed this story.
There were a few small things that caused me to knock off a star. For one thing, I dislike the use of certain sexual words in romance. I know, to each his own, but there are just some words that I am not expecting unless I'm reading erotica, and I was caught off guard once or twice. To me, when the author was building such a beautiful love scene in such a magical setting, some wordings of things just cheapened the moment....again, my personal opinion.
Also, only 50% of the book is the actual story, so I was thinking I was getting more than what I got. However, this story was free and still satisfying so this was not something that upset me overmuch.
Other than those two little things, I loved it! I look forward to reading more of this series.

ARC for Review ~ First off let's begin with this an ADULTS ONLY read! Wow Poor Conall!! I just finished this short story by Claudy Conn, it does give you a lot of info into the background of Queen Aaibhe (Ah-hibbe) and just how she became Queen. It also tells the story of a love so deep, one that can not be denied, so much so, that it sets into motion a series of events that had me glued to my seat.
Claudy has a way with her writing that is very crisp, clear, and easy to follow, wording it in such a way that you feel right along with the characters, putting you on the sidelines as the story unfolds. The characters are likable, believable, and furthermore, they are amazing to visualize.
The world building is awesome, imagine seeing something materialize with the simple move of finger, I really enjoyed this intro to the Legend Series, as I call it..
I recommend this to those 18+ due its sexually graphic nature and strong language.
Aaibhe-Shee Queen Book 1.5 in the Legend Series Aaibhe is a Daoine Fae, the highest caste of Seelie Fae. As she went from the Fae's island of Tir to watch the Druid priests during Beltane, she meets Conall MacTalbot. The first time in centuries she is attracted to a man, a human no less. Unfortunately for the lovers she does not realize that Gaiscioch, her dear friend and ex-lover, is watching, waiting, seething, hating and plotting against them both. Spellbound is the first book of the Legends Series. It hints about something that happened long before to the Queen and a Druid priest. This is their story. **This book is FREE **Sexual situations and language http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
The Seelie queen just found something she had never experienced before. Something she thought was lost to her forever and to top it off it's a human that has brought this about.
I've never read any of Claudy Conn's works. But I have to say I LOVE her writing style! She's so clearly descriptive and indulgent with it all. Such a sensual Fae short story that left me wanting much much more!
Aaibhe-Shee Queen was the first of Claudy's series I have read and I was spellbound with how enchanted the book made me feel. I found myself sighing with envy for such a romance then cried for her loss .I am not usually so easily drawn into a book as if I am not just reading but right there inside was emotionally a great ride . I highly recommend this for a good read.
Book: Aaibhe- Shee Queen Author: Claudy Conn Publication Date: December 2011 Reviewed by: Tammy – http://booknooknuts.blogspot.com/ My Rating: 5 Stars
REVIEW: I can honestly say I have never really gotten into the fae/druid type books but boy was I wrong. This book has changed that for me. Its an awesome short read about the Seelie Queen and her love of a human. This book is Romantic and Passionate !!!! Awesome !!
A short story that allows us to see more in the Queen Aaibhe's head. We also get another reason to hate Gais as he could be considered the villain of this story. Conall, poor Conall, was the druid that fell in love with the wrong person, but is showed that Aaibhe could feel emotions. We also get to knoow how she became queen which was a nice surprise.
as this is the first piece of the Legend Series by Claudy Conn, i really didnt know what to expect but as i kept reading i found it an enjoyable read. i love the prologue explaing the new Seelie Queen and what happened before she became queen. and i love how the antagonist was one of her very own warriors, jealousy taking over him. cant wait to read more of the series
The Queen's story... and what a story it is! Well more like a Novella but it's great back fill for the Legend series. I wish this would have been more of a book than a Novella. Maybe in the future we will see much much more of Aaibhe-Shee.
I enjoyed this novella from Claudy, if you are interested in reading her Legend series I would highly recommend reading this it offers insights into Queen Aaibhe via her personal musings and flashbacks. It really opened my eyes as to why she became the woman she is today.
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. I read it out of order but even so you don't miss a beat. I enjoyed getting the back story on what transpired with the Queen and her mortal love. This is definitely a must read in the Legend series.
Aaibhe is a Daoine fae, the highest castle of Seelie Fae, on a trip to Tir she meet Conall Mac Talbot, this is the first time in centuries she is attracted to a male, but someone is watching and plotting against them.
This was an interesting read with a expecting twist.
I really enjoyed this book. I received it free on my nook . It was very well written. for such a short story i really Liked itIt is full of lust, love, and betrayal. But just as fast as it started it was over. It's a back story to the series legend. All in all I liked it a lot.
OK, I read the whole novella... but there are several previews at the end of the book, and I got confused as to when the story actually ended.
I enjoyed the romance between the Druid MacTalbot and the Fae Queen Aaibhe-Shee. It was touching. The Fae Queen really found a part of herself she thought she'd lost long ago - a heart, compassion, feelings. Sex became more than a release, but making love.
The story is fairly predictable, but that doesn't make it a bad thing. It's all a set up for the Legend series, so obviously, the MacTalbots, the Queen, and the 2 other Fae play featured roles in the series.
This is a great addition to The Legend series. It can be read after Prince in the Mist or after the series. It was written afterward. The helps to see the emotional Aaibhe, who is so calm and decisive usually. A nice short read.
This is the first book by this author I've read..and I couldn't put it down. Druids & the Fae have always fadcinated me so I will definitely start this series
This book was short and sweet. It was also heartbreaking. To wait 70 thousand years to find your true love, your mate, only to lose him due to treachery.....was totally heartbreaking.
A nice short story to tell the beginnings of the MacTalbots and the love story of the queen of the seelie. Getting her live story now puts everything into perspective. I now understand her obsession with the MacTalbot clan and making sure that they do not die out. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
