Spree Killers

Rate this book
WARNING: this book is NOT for the faint of heart! It depicts realistic violence with vile and malicious activities, and delve into the darkness of the human heart and mind.

Two major motives fuel the Spree Killer's final, hate-filled act: revenge against the world and a desire to show that he is a person to be reckoned with. Tormented by his failure to achieve those things that seem to come so easily to others-satisfying work, loving relationships-he will prove that he is special in at least one regard: in his power to wreak havoc.

Could you imagine being in an area like a mall or restaurant when someone pulls out weapons and starts killing people? It's scary! I have chosen thirteen of these stories to write about and compiled them in this book.

* Columbine School Shooting
* Rodrick Shonte Dantzler - Grand Rapids, Michigan
* Michael Kenneth McLendon - Geneva County Massacre
* Tim Kretschmer - The Winnenden School Shooting
* Nidal Malik Hasan - Fort Hood Shooting
* Joseph T. Wesbecker - The Standard Gravure Shooting
* George Hennard - The Luby's Massacre
* Seung-Hui Cho - Virginia Tech Killing Spree
* Howard Barton Unruh - The Walk of Death, Camden, New Jersey
* Michael Robert Ryan - The Hungerford Massacre
* Patrick Henry Sherrill - Edmond United States Post Office Massacre

The book has grammatical errors that take getting used to in order to make sense. It was OK, but nothing to write home about.

Informative without getting bogged down with too many details!

Of all the serial killers and murderers I have read about, spree killers probably scare me more than any of them! In this book author RJ Parker tells us the stories of 14 different spree killers (13 different stories) that went on sudden rampages that shocked the world! Although most of these took place in the United States, you will read about shootings that took place in Germany, England and Canada. Some seemed planned, others seem to be spur of the moment! And there seemed to be no rhyme nor reason as to how they chose their targets! Well written without getting bogged down with too many details making it a quick and easy read!

I listened to the audible version of this book. The narrator does horribly if anyone is curious. Rather than doing some re-reading to edit areas you get to hear the reader sometimes stumble over words. It even seemed like she sounded out "sadomasochistic." However, the content of this book is the reason I give it the one star rating. These cases are very brief and do not have a lot of depth to them. If you want a list of a victims and a short narrative of the events of a case then this might help you, but I would recommend you fact check Mr. Parker with other sources.

A pile of poop. In the first couple of pages there were glaring spelling mistakes and the chapter I read-all 3 pages of it-was nothing you couldn't glean from papers or online reports. Nothing about the background or reasoning behind each case. I deleted it off my Kindle after said first chapter along with 2 other RJ Parker collections.

unimaginable

This book contains many accounts pertaining to the horrific acts done by people that could be your next door neighbor. The unimaginable committed by these individuals that turn lives upside down in an instant. From workplace violence to school shootings, a very good read leaves you wondering, what makes a person become a mass murderer.

A fast, easy read about the cases of serial killers. I learned about cases I didn't know, but this book didn't seem very professionally done which is why I gave it the low rating.
