Sheriff Jonathan MacSweeny is in charge of keeping the peace in Prospect Springs. Frontier living isn’t what it used to be. It’s hard to survive in the New Old West and it’s even harder when your area doesn’t exactly embrace supernaturals—and you howl at the moon. That being said, he’s good at his job and has a reputation with the ladies. When he learns his childhood sweetheart is to be married off to the town sleazebag, he goes in guns blazing to see to it she’s his. Problem is, Molly isn’t the same girl he remembers from ten years prior. Now she’s a gun-toting, foul-mouthed, vixen with a badge of her own.
Special Marshal Molly Cogan never planned to set foot back in Prospect Springs. When her friend gets the harebrained idea to steal her identity in an attempt to protect her from the bounty the outlaws have on her head, Molly finds herself standing right smack dab in the middle of chaos—or home in her case. It isn’t long before Jonathan is there, flashing that famous MacSweeny boy smile and tempting her in ways she wasn’t prepared for. This heart-hardened Marshal has her work cut out for her if she plans to face her past fears and her past sweetheart.

I absolutely loved it! The writing becomes addicting right away as the story comes alive within the first page. I literally could not put this fast paced book down it was that good. The characters connected beautifully and had me laughing out loud with their bantering. I actually smiled throughout the whole book.
I loved the way the Macsweeny boys (Were-wolves) were described - “the jet black hair was a Macsweeny trait, one the ladies seemed to adore and the church-going elderly women seemed to take as a sign of the devil.” Totally my kind of guys!
The female character Molly (human/Fae) was kick Azz and strong willed physically and mentally with her magik. The attraction between Molly and Jonathan was very sexy and playful and their erotic love scene where Jonathan claims her as a mate was so hot.
The back ground setting with the story taking place in the country territory and ruled by territory rules made it that much more interesting. I thought the sci-fi touch of the metal steeds without legs that floated in the air and could move as fast as lightning was a great way of explaining the futuristic change between the earth and the other worldly planets. I look forward to reading more about this world and the Macsweeny boys.
Post apocalyptic futuristic paranormal shifter western novella. Toward the erotic end of the romance genre. Book 1 of the Prospect Springs Shifter series. Basic world building where the characters motivation drives how much is revealed. Romance and sex plus a hero true.
Quick and easy. Hot and steamy. The good guy wins the girl. Difficult subject matter in the past that has repercussions. Old fashioned rules for a futuristic time.
I loved this book. It was highly entertaining. The thought of the future reverting to our past Wild West days is great.
Molly and Jonathan never thought that they would be reunited after 10 years and certainly not this way. The passion is there even though they never had sex because they have always loved each other and when they see each other, sparks start flying all over the place.
What Molly doesn't know is that Jonathan marked her all those years ago when he rescued her and she is already his life mate. All that needs to be done is to consumate the bond... Do they ever?.
Very entertaining with lots of action and passion.
Blaze of Glory is book one in the Prospect Spring Shifters series by Mandy M. Roth. This is a quick, short, and fun read about a kick ass heroine, an alpha shapeshifter, and what each of them will do to protect the one they love.
Molly has run from everything, the town she grew up in, the man who harmed her and the one man she has ever loved. She is now a gun totting and badge wearing, Special Marshall. She has grown into a tough women.
Jonathan has tried to protect Molly as best he can. He receives the best and worst news all at the same time. Now he must decide how to get the one and only women he has ever loved. He won’t let anyone stand in his way.
Blaze of Glory introduces us to a post-apocalyptic time, with gunslinging shifters, futuristic metal steads, and magic. The novella is full of action and twists on the old west. We get a whole family of HAWT shifters to salivate over and an interesting world ruled by different country territories and rules.
I enjoyed the world and different creatures Ms. Roth has created in this Sci-Fi Erotic Paranormal Romance. I liked the futuristic post-apocalyptic twist on the old west and look forward to continuing this series.
Blaze of Glory (Prospect Springs Shifters Book 1) (Kindle Edition) The Wild Wild West in the year 2087. There are some changes here, but men still rule (at least they think so.) Jonathan MacSweeny is the sheriff, Molly Cogan is a Special Marshal -- pretty much a legal bounty hunter. She left years ago after a brutal attack by the man her father is marrying her off to, so he thinks. Jonathan rescued her and released her even though he knew she was his mate, oh yeah, his is a wolf shifter as are all his brothers and cousins.
With a bounty on her head when she returns to town, two of her friends are planning an intervention. Add a bad guy attack, a fake fiance, some hot sex and great dialogue you have the makings of an unforgettable caper. All the men brothers and cousins are hot and well practiced at putting down the others.
Warning, while this stands alone, you will want to continue the series. Some great characters to get better acquainted with in the next books.
This book was provided by the author for an honest review.
I loved this book! It's one of the few books were the overprotective male doesn't step all over the girl that he is obsessed with. Jonathan seems to love protecting his girl to the point of being almost too overbearing, but what really makes the relationship work is that Molly is not willing to hide behind Jonathan and wait for him to save her. This girl is independent and tough, but then she also knows when to let Jonathan take the lead and try to solve things on his own. She has been through a really though time, but she has not let anything stop her, she has just learned to deal with things and grow a thicker skin. She doesn't let Jonathan change that about her and she will give just as good as she gets. Jonathan is passionately in love with her and will not let anyone harm her ever again, he seems to understand her and is willing to take on the challenge of being with Molly. This book was an amazing start to the series and I can't wait to read the next books and watch how Jonathan's family fall for their perfect mate.
Tongue tied over you This book has everything I could want in a Steampunk world. Strong, sassy women, who love those hot, alpha males, and usually let them think they are in charge, and temperamental mechanical horses. I love this family of supernatural characters! The guys brought humor to a dire situation and just don’t know when to quit when it comes to their HEA. The author did a fantastic job with this series starter and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The woman he's in love with is being sold off by her father. What does a shifter in the near future do to get her back in his life? He crashes the event. She's there to protect her friend posing as her, hoping no one will recognize her. When bounty hunters show up looking for the bride to be will her cover be blown?
Jonathan McSweeny is on a mission to get the woman he loves back in his life. The problem he faces is that she's being sold off by her father to the man who raped and beat her as a teenager. Jonathan was the one who found her. He's keeping a secret because his kind aren't well received. Molly Cogan is hiding in plain site at the party protecting her best friend who is posing as her. Molly's cover is blown when bounty hunters show up and start making trouble. Jonathan & his brother and Molly & her friends work together to take care off the bounty hunters. Molly's magic comes to light once Jonathan is injured, which knocks her out. She wakes up in a strange house. Jonathan has brought her to his home where the sparks and lust begin to fly very hotly. Molly is strongly attracted to Jonathan but there is the problem that she thinks he's married. He hasn't told Molly yet but they're mates. He's jealous of her supposed fiance. She's hurt when the prostitutes he uses show up. When they realize that both have feelings for each other and neither is attached. The man who raped her shows up and told of their recent mating and tries to challenge that idea only to be shown differently. Molly gives up her marshal work and becomes a mom and about to become one for the second time. Jonathan is still the sheriff in the area.
Mandy M Roth writes a sexy tale of reunited lovers who must work together to keep each other safe. Even though years have gone by the sexual tension and love between them is stronger than ever. That because of her past he let her go to have a life that she wanted. I look forward to listening or reading the rest of the Prospect Springs series and find out which of the infamous McSweeny brothers is next to find their true love. Can't wait to get into more of Mandy R Roth's books.
Blaze of Glory is a short, sexy read about a kick ass heroine, a shapeshifting alpha male, and what each of them will do to protect their mate. With a post-apocalyptic vibe mixed in with gun-slinging, futuristic horse-riding shapeshifters, it definitely held my attention.
The last place Molly wants to be is back in Prospect Springs, but when her friend tries to take her place and either marry the man she has been promised to or die in the process, she's left with no choice. Of course, no one back home was expecting Molly to be the tough as nails chick she turned out to be.
When Jonathan learns that Molly, his mate, has been promised to another man, he shows up to stop the wedding. When he sees Molly again, all the longing that he feels for her comes rushing back and he will do anything to make her his.
There's an awesome gun fight, playful banter between Jonathan and his brothers, as well as between Jonathan and Molly, plus some super sexy mate-claiming. Overall, this was a good novella, and while I was wishing for a little more, I enjoyed it.

This was a fairly quick little read, but it was a ton of fun. There are moments in here that remind some of Firefly with it’s cross between a space-age future and the Old West. We don’t get to dig too deep into Jonathan or Molly’s characters, but from what I’ve seen they seem well suited to one another. Normally I’m a miss on books with such stark language. (Because I didn’t hate it I’m not going to use crude, crass, or vulgar.) However, the style fits the setting and it didn’t irritate me the way I expected. I’m interested to see what the author does with the other members of the MacSweeny clan. After all, she’s left herself a lot of room to work in.
A very quick, short, and fun read. This is the first book of the series and I am really interested in learning more about this future western-like world of shifters, witches, and magic.
I loved Molly. She was such a spitfire. She took a terrible situation and made herself strong. She is a gun toting, badge wearing, foul mouthed marshal on the hunt for outlaws.
I really want to read the rest of this series now. I want to see the brothers find their mates. I also want to see more of Molly and Jonathan and what their future looks like.
This was my first western book, I wasn't sure I was going to like it but it had a in the future twist and there are shifter and magic, what a great mix. The people in the story I fell in love with and one a loved to hate! Lol I can't wait to read more from roth, thank you mandy roth for a fun evening!
First time reader of this author and now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative series. i was hooked after the first page.
The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.
i would highly recommend this author and this series.
Jonathan is a sheriff and hears his ex girlfriend Molly is coming back to town to be married. Molly is supposed to marry a bad guy but Jonathan knows she is his true mate. Can Jonathan save Molly from a horrible future? Its a great quick read with fun characters.
This was an amazing read that was nice for those moments when you need a quick read. It moves along at a nice pace, has characters that you want to know more about and to be there for them. This story will keep you reading from the moment that you pick it up. This book needs to be on your TBR list.
Nice paranormal romance, strong plot, enjoyable characters living in an interesting world, another great read from Mandy M. Roth, if you like her other work you will like this
Futuristic western romance set in a post apocalyptic world.
In this world women are bartered by their family. Only the supernatural supersedes a family member right to barter. Throw in shifters with attitude and the book takes off.
This is first book in the series. It is a shifter, supernatural, western, steampuckish type story. It was ok as far as it went i tink a little short. But good enough to read more of the series
Loved this book. Combines old west with space and shifters. Serenity/FireFly with shifters. The same feel also the characters are likable but rugged not perfect. with a romance gone sideways. Perfect. Love the brothers. Have to read more.
This was a really good book. The characters had complex backstories, although the side characters were a little flat. There was plenty of action and plenty of steamy sex. And her post-apocalyptic New Frontier was very well built. The pacing was excellent--we went from Jonathan riding to the rescue to a shoot-out to a hysterical scene when they're trying to work out there differences. Only problem was, the book just didn't grab me. I strongly recommend reading it for yourself, because your mileage may vary.
A futuristic setting with the world fallen back to the old west. Jonathon knew Molly was his mate, but he did not have a choice in her leaving years ago. She is back, her father is marrying her to a horrible man, and he is ready to save her. Molly was strong, until the whores showed. She is fine with having sex with a man who was with whores, but she is mad at Jonathon for the same thing. She should have continued to be that strong woman and sent the whores packing.
There is some worldbuilding, this is the second "short " I have read from Ms. Roth, The general idea is good but lost in the briefness of each story, I would really like a longer more cohesive story (There is a terrifying life event downplayed by time constraints), it could have been considered a good bones book but all is lost in sexy times.
This story started out great with guns blazing. I understand what was going down between Jonathan and Molly, but the ending and climax wasn't as good as the start of this book. The reader kept me engaged, but I was left at the end of the book as if I missed something.
