Pamela Kimball’s birthday present, a 1Night Stand adventure, promises to jump start her life, put a new man in her bed, and help her forget her past. Unfortunately, movie-buff Pam’s Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy takes an alarming wrong turn when she’s abandoned on a not quite deserted island—with ex-husband Roger Ware.
Forced by hunger to accept Roger’s offer of dinner, Pam realizes the geek she married has transformed into one of the most charming, sexiest men she’s ever met. His newfound confidence—and hot body—re-kindles old fires. A simple kiss leads Roger to challenge her to discover how much his lovemaking skills have improved, leaving Pam torn between self-preservation and burning desire.
With time running out before they’re rescued, Pam must decide if her heart can survive the consequences of becoming Roger’s “almost” perfect 1Night Stand.
Jenna has been reading and writing historical romance since she was a teenager. A romantic herself, she has always loved a dark side to the genre, a twist, suspense, a surprise. She tries to incorporate all of these elements into her own stories. She lives in Virginia with her family and a small menagerie of pets. When not reading or writing, she indulges her passion for the theatre, working with local theatres as a director. She often feels she is directing her characters on their own private stage.
She has equated her writing to an addiction to chocolate because once she starts she just can’t stop.
What a beautiful story! The story captivated me immediately as the story came alive on the page; it was as if I was watching a movie with the visually enhanced descriptions. The author’s smooth writing captured the characters emotions and feeling beautifully and had me feeling them as if I was one of the characters myself.
As I write this review I am still wiping the tears from my eyes thinking about the sadness and then crying even more for the happiness I felt in the end as I hug the book (my e-reader). The story will take you on an emotional roller-coaster as it starts out with Pam getting ready for her 1 Night Stand and as she reflects back to why she is going on the 1 Night Stand in the first place. As the thoughts of Pam’s ex-husband fill her head with bitter emotions you immediate sympathize with her and look forward to learning about her 1 Night Stand fantasy of being with a pirate.
Like always, Madam Eve puts her own twist to the fantasy because she knows best. Pam’s ex-husband Roger has planned a 1 Night Stand with the help of Madam Eve to get his ex-wife back. Pam and Roger are thrust together on a deserted island to Pam’s surprise but circumstances bring them closer than they ever were before as they rediscover their sexual desires with some hot explicit erotic positions you would find illustrated in the Kama Sutra such as The Supported Congress, the Milk and Water, and the Splitting of a Bamboo positions.
A rekindle of love and uncontrollable emotions from the characters will have you glued to the pages as their drama of the morning after awakes their WTF just happened conscious and unfolds. With a twist from Madam Eve and some staged Pirate action things end with a surprised assumption of devastated sadness and sorrow, however, a relief of happiness in the end will have you in tears as you hug and kiss the book. This is one book you have to read.
From the moment I saw the cover, I wanted to read this story.
I admit, I wasn't a fan of the heroine at the beginning though. She irked me, and in some ways I felt like I didn't know the entire story. But she definitely makes a complete 180, especially after an unexpected twist at the end.
Almost Perfect is a great addiction to the 1Night Stand series, and I look forward to reading more from Jenna Jaxon.

With time running out before they’re rescued, Pam must decide if her heart can survive the consequences of becoming Roger’s “almost” perfect 1Night Stand. I'm a fan of rekindled love stories such as this. At the start of the story, Pam is so excited to be on her way to her birthday present, a one night stand fantasy, what she wasn't expecting was to find out that the matchmaking service used to determine her one night stand has chosen none other than her ex-husband Roger who she hates. A troubled marriage that ended in divorce makes for a heated encounter between the two of them when they finally, after two years, see each other again, but alone on a deserted island, the once-couple is forced to take shelter together and in turn discover that the past doesn't necessarily equal the future as long as both parties are willing to work on their problems. One such problem was their sex life, which is definitely renewed in this story. A very hot and steamy short that will leave you breathless and hopeful that the once-couple can renew their marriage again and this time succeed. You can't forget about the little "show" the 1Night Stand service provides for the two of them to help make Pam's fantasy a little more reality, it was a cute and sweet and hot and I enjoyed the story very much. At times, the story read a bit stilted to me, but I was able to easily overlook that and at some points throughout the story the playful banter between the couple came across as a little immature, but for the most part, Pam and Roger were great together and I really enjoyed them as a couple and am glad they were able to find each other again and start their relationship over. I expect some great things from Jenna Jaxon in the future and can't wait to read more of what she has to offer. My Review: 4/5 "Steamy" Lattes
Madam Eve’s One Night Stand is where all your fantasies can be realized, no matter what they may be.
Divorced for five years and celibate for two, Pamela wanted a pirate adventure along the lines of Pirates of the Caribbean. Instead of being ravished by Captain Jack Sparrow, she wanted to have an unforgettable night with Will Turner (or maybe Orlando Bloom!).
Her friend Sue helped her set up her adventure with Madame Eve as a birthday gift to her, and off she went to the Castillo Resort in Miami. Excited beyond all reason Pamela couldn’t wait to board the boat that would start her adventure. Instead of being wrapped in the arms of Orlando, she was unceremoniously hauled off the boat, placed in a dinghy and marooned on a desert island. Furious and thinking she was alone, she turns around and is faced with none other than her ex husband Roger. Of all the people in the world why was her "Pirate" her ex husband, and why wasn’t he dressed like one?
After reading the blurb for this story I knew this would be a fun read, especially since she had divorced Roger because the sex was boring. She referred to sex with her ex as being ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Top Adventure with the good bits taken out.’ That had me chuckling which made me look forward to reading more of this delightful story.
This is a short story but it had characters that I liked and wanted to see back together. Everything to Pamela was like a movie, and all the movies mentioned I had seen so I could truly relate to what the character was describing. Personally, though, I would prefer Captain Jack to Will Turner, but that’s just me.

I always enjoy the 1Night Stand stories so I was sure this one would be great as well. It didn’t let me down. Almost Perfect is another one of those great bed time reads that is quite HOT.
Pam is in need of some fun and she thinks she is going to get just that with a birthday present from her friend. What she doesn’t expect is to get stranded on a deserted island with her ex husband.
Roger has some secrets of his own that he wants to share with Pam. When sparks start to fly things get HOT. It was fun to watch these two come back together after spending some much time apart. They both are different people with some different sexual skills. There is a lot of emotion in this story that keeps you turning pages or scrolling along pretty quickly.
I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading more 1Night Stand stories and more from Jenna Jaxon.
Pamela and Roger divorced two years previously. Now Pamela has come to Madame Evangeline’s 1 Night Stand service to fulfill her Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy. The last person she expected to run into was her ex. He also is trying to fulfill his fantasy but it looks like they are stuck with each other since neither’s dates show up. Pamela never expects Roger to have changed so much in those two years in Jenna Jaxon’s ALMOST PERFECT.
I liked Pamela and Roger. Both have a lot of baggage they have to clear up with each other. Since they are stuck with each other they have time to talk. Of course, they also have time for other things. It was when the other things happen that they forget their past and move forward. I enjoyed that aspect of the story—moving forward. When danger threatens that is when their feelings come out. I like how danger works for them. ALMOST PERFECT is a good read with a little bit of everything.
While I don’t normally read or enjoy short stories, I’m immensely glad that I took a chance on Almost Perfect by Jenna Jaxon. Her writing style and pacing made this story come to life immediately and kept me wondering and hoping to the very last word.
Jenna can write love, hate, fear, and sex – OMG, I needed a fan and something cold to drink every time! – all at the same time. The passion felt not just real, but believable. Both Pam and Roger are so real you’d swear you knew they personally, a rarity among shorter stories I’ve read.
My only complaint isn’t against the book but at Roger. Boy can he screw up a 2nd chance with ‘open mouth, insert foot’ but I just loved him. Can I be Pam? *swoon*
Almost Perfect was a great read that I hope anyone interested in erotic romance will gobble up, but remember, have a cold drink or shower handy (ღ˘◡˘ღ)
Jenna Jaxon has a winner with this wonderful erotic romance. Pam and Roger are the Almost Perfect couple, though Pam has some troubles coming to grips with that. I love the character development in this story as well as the detailed setting. I felt like I was there, being a voyeur hidden among the palm trees. You can't go wrong with this wonderful book. It would be the perfect beach read...or poolside dip into a bit of erotic romance.
Pamela is expecting a pirate adventure but Madame Eve has been busy again and this time instead of pirate Pamela ends up on a deserted beach with her ex-Roger. But Roger seems to be new and improved. Now Pamela has to deal with long ignored feelings and the possibility of rejection. There is a surprise twist that leads to true feelings being revealed. A great HEA story.
Another story in the 1night stand series. A well written short about Pam and Roger, who after meeting and marrying in college, are now divorced. Pam has gone on her 1night stand holiday for a Pirates of the Carribean adventure - and gets Roger instead, but a new improved model! A nice, cosy read, flowed well.
Oh I totally loved this. It is one of the best of this series I've read. So well written and not one unbelievable part to it at all. I loved this so much I must admit I would love to read more of these two and all the positions they are going to try.
