Black Creek #1-4

Black Creek

Rate this book
Blood will be shed.

Lives will be lost.

Retribution will be dealt.

I work in the darkness that is Black Creek.
If there’s a secret to uncover, a package to deliver, or a story to be told, I’m your girl. I'll do whatever it takes to provide for my little brother.

Once upon a time, The Feral Beasts ruled Black Creek with an iron fist, but they’re long gone now. The Antonelli family stepped in, only caring about their family and their money.
I’ve heard the whispers… The Reaper Rejects are growing and they want control of Black Creek. But this town isn’t big enough for the both of them.

When the leaders of the Rejects ask for my help, I’m reluctant. Trouble follows gang life. I shouldn’t want to get involved, but Oliver knows just how to tempt me, and the pain in Cain’s eyes calls to my need for vengeance.

A war is coming and this town has never been more deadly.

***This omnibus compiles all four books in the dark gamg-mafia romance series, Black Creek, including exclusive bonus scenes.
Due to mature content, this omnibus is recommended to readers aged eighteen and over. Contains enemies-to-lovers themes and FMC will ultimately end up with multiple love interests. May contain triggers for some readers. Please read the note at the start of the book.

Black Creek is hands down one of the best RH series ever!!! The emotions and heat are just top notch, and I love how each emotional connection is heightened from book to book. Plus it's so hard to have a favorite man in this series when they are all so spectacular-- and the way they all loved Sawyer. And the way they all protected her younger brother Luc as their very own? All the yes!

Sawyer is so different from anyone else I've ever read about, and I love that about her! She's so strong and will do anything it takes to protect her brother from not only the double life she leads, but all the danger from the world in general. She's so tough, yet so vulnerable, and I loved how Oliver, Cain, Dante and Enzo all brought out a side of her she never knew existed, and the family they all found together.

I will say that the suspense got better with each book! I had a theory about a certain key member of the Harem, but to see it all play out was just so awesome!

I will definitely be reading this series again and again! Go one click once you get the chance!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

“You are my darkness and my light. My damnation and my redemption. My ruination and rebirth.” His thumb brushes along my lower lip. “And maybe I can be all those things for you, too.”

Everything RA Smyth writes is a one-click purchase - sight unseen, no blurb, just a hint of what's to come. This series is perfect - a strong AF FMC, great supporting MMCs, and so much action that you almost forget it's a romance. Luckily, here, we get the whole series in one place. Tailor made for you binge-readers or those who have cliffhanger anxiety and need the series to be complete before diving in! Plus, there are some new POV chapters and extended epilogues to sweeten the deal.

It starts out slow burn in the first book and quickly builds to a faster and spicier burn as the series progresses, ending in explosive group and individual MF scenes. There is mild MM in the form of an established relationship between two MMCs.

This series is a fast favorite and nearly topped my number one series from RA, Pacific Prep. Sawyer is one of my favorite FMCs of all time, joining Hadley (from Pac Prep) and Josie (from Elizabeth Dear's A Knight's Revenge).

Highly recommended!!

Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance
Tropes/Features: Dark elements, mafia, gangs, enemies to lovers, hate to love, morally grey MCs, vigilante FMC, all-in MMC, grumpy MMC, possessive, OTT J/P, touch her and die, forced marriage, violence, bloody revenge
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Why Choose MMFMM (established MM), slow-to-fast burn, very spicy
Book Type/Ending: Omnibus of Black Creek Series, HEA
TW/CW: Available in book

Superb Series
Quick Summary:
Set in the same universe as Pacific Prep/Crescentwood you will see some familiar characters crop in this series. Although certainly not as dark as the Pac Prep series it does touch up what may be considered dark subjects. There’s an underlying story of female vigilante mixed up in a gang/mafia war where she may be the whole lynchpin for attempting to save Black Creek. 😮The main trope between the harem is certainly enemies to lovers or enemies to brother boyfriends 😂 it really keeps you on the edge with all the action and wondering what’s going to come next!
Our FMC Sawyer is a fiesty lass who’s looking to make ends meet and keep a roof over her and her brothers head! Her loyalty knows no bounds as she would do anything to keep Luke safe 🥰 She’s certainly a take no rubbish won’t hold her punches kinda gal 💪 and she needs to be to survive Black Creek which is in the midst of a war between the various gangs and the mafia family the Antonellis.
Each of Sawyers men are unique - there’s no way you could mix them up 😅 we have Cain the leader of the Rejects who is a grumpy surly bugger with a real protective streak! When these two clash there’s certainly fireworks 💥 then there’s his second in command Oliver who becomes Sawyers safe haven and is the first person to force to bring down her walls ☺️ then there’s her mafia boss Dante who’s an obsessed cold-blooded killer whose world and only emotions seem to relate to our girl 😍 and his second Enzo whilst they have their own relationship (⚔️) he certainly has a back and forth with Sawyer that creates a fiery banter whilst also having her back 🥰
The Rejects and the Antonelli’s however are at vast odds due to the past…and so it certainly is angst filled between the men which creates some interesting drama for Sawyer 🙈🙈 yet there might just be a big bad that along with Sawyer draws them together to create an allegiance that could save Black Creek 😃
The bonus content that can only be found in this omnibus is sooo worth getting it! There are some chapters for each of the book that gives a different character POV to some crucial events which are fun 🤩 but then there’s the epilogues…which are all you could ever want for Sawyer and her harem 🥰

Holy crap! Rachel killed it with this book series! Red is such a bad ass chick! And Oliver ugh I just love him so much! Cain too. This is totally a 10/10 for me. I could not put it down once I started! I had to devour it! Rachel sure knows how to suck you into a story and not let you go! I’m in a total book hangover! This one is definitely a 5-star read. It will hold your attention throughout the whole book! Damn!!!!!! Red and her boys experienced so many twist and turns and growth! So freaking good! 5 stars definitely isn't enough that's for sure!! Hands down 10/10 recommend shut the front door! I didn't think this series could get any better than it did. But boy was I surprised! Red and her merry men are everything!!! And the cameo was everything! But that cliff hanger was ugh! Run don’t walk to read this!!!! 5 stars isn't enough 1000% recommend!!!!! Literally has the most perfect ending to the series!!!! The growth of Sawyer Cain Oliver Dante and Enzo is amazing! Their dynamic is perfect! 10/10 recommended! And that ending!!!!!! So perfect!!!

Who doesn’t love a huge boxset with extra content , I know I do. Phenomenal five star read that I would definitely recommend this book / boxset is a must read. It's a slow build RH but it's so yummy.
Sawyer is a FMC that loves hard and she is so strong willed. I love all her relationships with her guy's but I especially love the bond and relationship she has with her brother Luc. I love all the guys so much and I love that all the guys are so different Oliver , Cain Enzo and Dante all love Sawyer so differently but they're all equally obsessive and possessive with her which I love and makes me swoon. This book /series / boxset took me on such a rollercoaster ride. I can't wait to read what's next from this author

Oh I love revisiting the Black Creek crew. So much more I discovered when I did a reread.

Sawyer is such a badass and I admired her as I read the books. She’ll do anything for those she loves. And of course in the course of doing that, she interacts with some insanely hot and dangerous men. Enzo, Dante, Oliver, and Cain are all lovable and hateable all at once for different reasons.

If you love MC and/or mafia dark romances, then check these books out. The steam level will suck you in but the story will keep you turning the pages.

👌🏼 perfection

This series was brilliant, I read 1/2 and listen to the rest on audiobooks.
I think this combination, especially the audio narrators had me completely mesmerised.
The storyline was so intriguing, the action, danger and chaos was well written.
Loved the underlying vigilante aspects too.
The steamy scenes were smokin hot, especially the RH scenes.
Even the chemistry between each one and Sawyer was pantie melting, like in the strip club.
Definitely added this to my ‘to read again’ pile, as it’s that good.

R.A. Smyth has rereleased the Black Creek series in one complete book and if you haven't already read it then you'll want to grab this book. On top of the already great story, Rachel has thrown in a bunch of bonus scenes for each book and they are worth it alone.

My particular favorite was The Third Baby. I loved them all, seeing different character's perspectives from events from the books but that was the best.

I have reviewed these books individually and each one got a very easy 5 stars and I devoured these books wanting to get caught up in their world and never wanting it to end.

If you've read any mafia romance, like why choose romance and like bad ass heroines too then you'll get it all right here.

I hope you love it as much as I did. Rachel out does herself with every series and I can't wait for what she's going to bring us next.

REBELS & REJECTS
Sawyer (Red) just wants to keep her brother safe and try to find a way for him to live a life in Black Creek that won’t end up with him as an addict, gang member, or dead. So to do that she works as many jobs as she can, some legal some not so legal. She also takes care of the scum of the earth who prey on the weak, as the Reaper she is feared and her lust for blood fulfilled.

Cain is trying to make something of The Reaper Rejects. Ever since helping Beck and rescuing a bunch of kids, the rejects have grown. With Oliver back by his side their plans to move forward and set Black Creek free are in motion. When Cain finds a link to the mysterious Reaper he pursues Red for answers, but she’s tougher than she looks. She’s hiding something and Cain doesn’t like or trust her but if the Reaper is willing to help he might just live through the war that’s coming.

Oliver survived the downfall of the Feral Beasts, after joining when he was young and his anger ruled him he soon realized they weren’t what he thought they were. After serving his prison sentence he’s back in Black Creek to help Cain. He has no plans other than that until he meets a mysterious woman at a bar and is unable to forget her. When he finds out she’s the one Cain wants answers from things get more complicated. Whether Cain likes it or not Red might be the answer they need and Oliver won’t mind at all keeping her close.

Red has no intention of involving herself in their war but when she gets a close-up glimpse of the senseless carnage the Antonellis display she finds herself wavering. When she and Cain butt heads again it leads to more entanglement and complications for her. It seems she may have no other choice but to jump on their crazy train and hope to come out the other side victors.

MURDER & MAYHEM
Sawyer has agreed to work with the Rebels despite her reluctance to get involved with gangs and she is starting to realize they definitely aren’t the type of gangs she is used to. Trying to come up with a plan to get the information they need leads Sawyer to reconnect to Enzo.

She doesn’t trust him but he owes her and she’s going to use that to her advantage. While she waits for her plan to fall into place she continues her work as the Reaper and even though she tried to keep her distance Oliver forces her to open her eyes to what is going on with them. As the two find their footing Oliver also pushes Cain and Sawyer to see what they could be.

Soon with a hard shove, Cain admits that Sawyer is more than just a stripper or the Reaper she’s exactly the kind of woman he wants and needs. Finally opening themselves up the three of them get their act together.

Sawyer starts at Belle Donne, the club the Antonellis own, in the hope to get access to Dante, and the guys help in their own way. Getting on Dante’s radar though is a blessing and a curse. Sawyer is making some headway in getting the info they need but Dante’s obsessive watching of Sawyer puts a target on her.

His plan to keep her safe throws Sawyer for a loop and puts Enzo and Dante at odds. Cain and Oliver don’t like her plan but they agree to it as seems it’s the best shot they have. Dante’s plan isn’t as foolproof as he thinks though and it turns out Sawyers isn’t either.

Despite the bonds forming everything is at risk now.

DAMAGED & DEADLY
Holy Crap! That was more than I could have ever hoped for. Rachel has outdone herself with this second book in the Black Creek series. I had wanted some of the secrets to come out and for the group to continue to form a bond and they did just that, but there is still so much going on.

Rachel has filled this book with mystery, suspense, spice, and a story I can’t get enough of. The characters only continue to grow and become even more intriguing. Falling for these guys is made so easy thanks to how Rachel has written them. It doesn’t matter that they are not the good guys they are the perfect guys for Sawyer.

This whole book had me hooked and the little bits dropped here and there throughout the story only had me eager for more of every page. The cliffhanger… WOW!

The wait for book three is going to be excruciating but I can tell it’s going to be worth it.

CHAOS & CARNAGE
Sawyer is missing and the guys are going out of their minds trying to find her. They blame each other for his disappearance and struggle to work together. They will need to find a way to work together because if the worst has happened to Sawyer and Giovanni has her then they’ll be going to war sooner than they were prepared to.

Sawyer awakes she’s thankful she’s not in Giovanni’s hands but she’s hurt and without her men. It turns out she has a friend or at least an ally who was willing to help her out. Now she’s got to get back to her men and they need to figure out how to end Giovanni once and for all.
‘Fear and pain may be excellent motivators, but love is by far the strongest. You can overcome anything for love, face down your greatest fear, step up to the toughest challenge.’

The relief of having Sawyer back doesn’t last when the club comes under attack. Losses will be felt and the Rejects will have to get their heads around the fact the Antonelli’s helped them during the attack. Dante and Enzo aren’t trusted by everyone but they’ve started to build the gap between the Rejects and them.

They aren’t going to get any peace if they can’t put an end to Giovanni and his lackeys including the Grim Reapers. Time is running out and they’ll have to take some big leaps to get ahead.

Sawyer can’t lose the family she is building for herself. She’s going to stand by her men and she’s going to do her best to make sure they all come out standing.
‘My ruthless Rejects. My merciless mafia men. My bloodthirsty gangsters. My ferocious family.’

Happy Reading.

“ Each of you speaks to me differently, fulfilling parts that I never even knew were missing or broken. Only when I’m with all of you, so I feel complete.”

This is my absolute favourite series by R.A. Smyth and is honestly one of my favourite series ever!

The story building and character development throughout the Black Creek series has been phenomenal. I absolutely adore Sawyer and have loved her more and more with each book. She is a force to be reckoned with and is a killer FMC!

I love each of the guys and cannot choose between them. The five of them together are just perfect; you couldn’t really ask for anything better! The chemistry and passion between Sawyer and each of the guys is out of this world and makes you love them all so much more. They love her so damn much and will kill anyone who tries to touch her—their Spitfire, Trouble, Red and Mia Vita.

If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend you do!! It is hands down one of my top reads!

Average 3.25 ⭐

TLDR: This is a compilation of my thoughts as I progress through each book (might wanna skip 🥂)

Rebels & Rejects 2.75 stars⭐

Feels like a lot happened while at the same time, nothing happened. I find it quite hard feeling a connection with the characters. Hoping the next book is better.

Murder & Mayhem 3 stars ⭐

I'm tired of authors trying so hard to make a "badass" FMC look so badass by all cringey means. Y'all don't find it so hard to make a badass MMC but when it comes to FMCs, you bring in irrelevant stuff.

Uhm... maybe not.

Aht Aht ma'am

Let's just keep the FMC as she is without trying to be what she's supposed to be but not pulling. Thanks!

Nice seeing more of Enzo and also giving some slight back story and view into Dante's head.

Compared to Book 1, this (Book 2) might bump to a 3 ⭐. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽.

Nice ending to Book 2... Gives something to look forward to in Book 3. I can't wait for Giovanni's end to come.

Damaged & Deadly 3.5 stars ⭐

Picks up nicely from where Book 2 ended. Love that we went back to get into O's POV.

I'm enjoying this so far seeing the gradual character development and slight curveball thrown in by the author on account of FMC's lil sibling.

Hello Little Miss, nice seeing you around here. Oh what she might have gone through in those years 💔

Book 3 was a nice read in general and I hope Book 4 is same. Cheers 🥂

Chaos & Carnage 3.75 stars ⭐

This was so nice to see as the Journey of Dante showed that he lacked emotions. I swooned a little too hard here 😂

Yes sir!!! 🥵

Evie, Bones & Marcus... What do y'all have going on here? I hope there's something for these characters even if it's just a novella

I quite enjoy the banter between the guys and Dante making jokes at last. Now I just have to wait for Giovanni's end.

Here we go, the big bad wolf is eliminated!
.

Overall, the series built up to be something nice and the author actually made lots of improvement to the characters which made them slightly likeable as we progress.

This series literally started it all for me with this author! How could I have not read her sooner?! This series, must like the rest of the authors work is amazing. I could not put it down and needed to read all of her other stuff immediately. You will not be disappointed.

Its too hard for me to summarize all of the books together so I am just incorporating all of my individual book review ratings into this one! I loved them all so much!!! Look at my individual ones for the actual review. They were all amazing!!!

𝐵𝑜𝑜𝓀 𝟣 - 𝑅𝑒𝒷𝑒𝓁𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝑅𝑒𝒿𝑒𝒸𝓉𝓈

This was my first book by this author, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but what I read was definitely not it. This book clearly is setting the tone for the series. I felt like it was a little slow-paced, but I don't think it will maintain that going into book 2.

I loved all of the characters! Red was fierce and strong but slowly let her guard down around the people the meant the most to her. Caine and Oliver seem like they just want to the world to be a better place and most importantly want revenge for Evie. Dante, whom we did not get much on - seems like he'll be a wild card. It's obvious the connection we read, I am excited to see how that will play out with Caine and Oliver. Will Enzo be around more, what was his deal?

**********
Black Creek is a city of low lives. The gangs run the town and anyone who gets in their way or doesn't pay for protection is just collateral. The Grim Bastards, Unfazed Jokers, Satan's Advocates, The Feral Beasts and the Antonelli's all run this town. With the Rejects slowly moving in and making a name for themselves, who knows what the future holds?

Being a victim of the gang life herself - Red is determined to not allow her or her brother Luc to get sucked into that way of life. As a sort of vigilante, she has her own share of blood on her hands - but what no one knows, no one can talk about. So, when the Rejects are looking for someone to get them deep inside the Antonelli territory, they truly don't expect to find themselves with her. The sinful, sexy voluptuous dancer they all seem to crave.

But everyone has a past... What happens when Red's history decides to catch up with her? Will Cain and Oliver be able to accept that Red might choose the wrong side? Will she have to?

***********
Ahhhhhhh - I'm excited to find out. Like I said the story-built kind of slow, but I loved it. I wanted to know about everyone's back story. I wanted to understand where it was all going. The author truly did an amazing job, and I am here for it!!!

Red is a true tough as bones warrior. This book was sexy, sinful and mysterious. I'm super ready for Book 2.

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 4/5

OMFG!? Ending of Chapter 18 - Boom! I did not see that coming but felt it almost as soon as this character came into the storyline.

I LOVED this book. I felt like I can't comment too much without giving things away, but this is the BEST book in the series so far! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I could not put it down. SO much happened in this book and yet so little at the same time. I need book four to come quick. I have conflicting emotions about how all of that went down in the end. I will need a certain guy, ahemm..... to get on his knees for forgiveness for suuureeeee.

*Ends on cliffhanger

Bittersweet ending!

This book ended in the ultimate way with Red doing what she does best. The epilogue left you wanting so, so much more, but all in all, it was a good way to end the series. This series overall was amazing, and I will be missing these characters immensely.

*Overall 5/5

Rebels & Rejects:

What an exciting and thrilling start to this new series! It’s dark, gritty, violent, emotional and filled with action, suspense and twists and turns you never see coming. It’s one hell of an intense rollercoaster ride that will have you captivated and highly entertained, never wanting it to end.

Right from the very beginning I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails and gasping at some of the situations Sawyer gets herself into. She’s one hell of a badass vigilante who is not afraid to gut someone if she needs to!

Sawyer gets herself in a bit of a predicament putting Cain and Oliver directly in her path. The chemistry between these three is utterly explosive, fierce and definitely panty melting.

I got so swept up Sawyer’s story that I just devoured it in one sitting. It was fantastic, twisted and so damn good. And after that ending, I can’t wait to see where this story goes next.

Murder & Mayhem:

DAMN! This story just keeps getting crazier and more intense as the series continues. My adrenaline was pumping and my heart was about ready to burst out of my chest with the way book 2 ends! I mean OMG WOW! This is one hell of a crazy, emotional and violent rollercoaster ride that I can’t get enough of.

Sawyer (Red) is totally badass. She is a MF Queen and I am totally in love with her. She definitely takes no crap from anyone and can kickass when needed. Sawyer is slightly unhinged but she has to be when she puts on her Reaper mask! Her relationship with Cain and Oliver has taken some seriously steamy turns. The chemistry between the three of them is off the charts, oozes off the pages, and definitely obliterates panties everywhere!

There are so many new twists and turns this story takes that I am blown away by how each new twists plays with my emotions and has me completely and utterly captivated! I could not look away. I needed all the answers even though I was not going to get them yet!

Another really well written addition to this amazing series that kept me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails with anticipation of how this story was going to turn out. And now I am waiting on bated breath to find out what is going to happen next after that jaw dropper of an ending!

Damaged & Deadly:

What a freaking adrenaline rush from start to finish. My heart is still beating like crazy after the way this part of the story ends!

The action, suspense, drama and angst is nonstop throughout and the intense emotions, passion and heartache explodes off the pages and either made me laugh or cry. It was one hell of a crazy rollercoaster ride right to the very end.

With loads of twists and turns and some very shocking moments, Damaged & Deadly was an explosive, action packed buildup to what is sure to be one hell of an epic conclusion in the final book.

I can’t wait to see how it all plays out and if Sawyer and her men can come together as one complete unit, or if things are going to get worse, destroying them all in the process.

Buckle up because we are in for one hell of an ending!

Chaos & Carnage:

OMG! What a phenomenal, thrilling and action-packed conclusion this was.

Right from the get-go, we jump right back into the story where we left off on that crazy cliffhanger from book 3 and the suspense, action, and bloody chaos is kicked up a notch for the final epic showdown between the Rejects and Giovanni. And man was it ever intense. I was once again completely riveted to my seat the whole way through. At times my jaw literally dropped to the floor over some of the shocking moments that transpired right before my eyes. It was one hell of a rollercoaster ride of chaos, murder and mayhem from start to finish.

Sawyer, Cain, Oliver, Dante and Enzo go through a whole hell of a lot of emotional turmoil, angst, drama and pain. Their growth as a formidable family was absolutely heartwarming, sweet, funny and just wonderful to see. And then all of the deliciously sexy moments the five of them have WOW, explosive and panty obliterating.

Sawyer shows us that not only is she one badass Reaper but she is also a MF Queen!!!

“I’m the motherfucking Reaper. I crawl through the night in the search of scumbags that don’t deserve to breathe. My blades are the bringers of death. I will not let some asshole in a suit make me forget what I am capable of.”

This story is well written and packed with action, suspense, emotion, revenge, murder and mayhem and I never wanted it to end. And the ending was absolutely perfect but still keeps us craving more.

Not Just a Street Rat…

This series was deliciously riveting! From the first book to the last, these characters became a part of me. It’s action packed and I couldn’t put it down.

Street Rat...
Book 1 Rebels & Rejects

Growing up a street rat, Sawyer has done what she must to survive and take care of her younger brother Luc. After her mothers murder by a gang member she seeks revenge on the one who killed her. Now she likes to make other bad men pay as well for a cost.
This had alot of inner dialogue and lots of information. With plenty of angst, danger, violence and steamy tension, this book will have you turning the pages to find out what was going to happen.
It definitely was action packed and I can't wait to jump into the next book!

Book 2 Murder & Mayhem

Do what you have to...

Sawyer must make decisions that will put her in Dante's sights. She needs to get close to him to be able to set her plan in motion of bringing down his fathers organization.
Things will get out of control after Dante demands she marry him to keep her safe from his father. His father Giovanni is an evil man with his own agenda. Sawyer has no choice but to go through with the wedding since Giovanni shows his hand.
We get left on a nerve wracking cliffhanger.

Book 3 Damaged & Deadly

What’s lost is found…

We pick up right after the cliffhanger in book 2. Sawyer is forced to marry Dante to save her brother. Which puts the rejects plan to blow the church up on hold. Dante’s father takes Luc with him and Sawyer must get her guys on the same page. 2 mafia and 2 gangsters will need to lay their beef for each other aside to help Sawyer rescue her brother before it’s too late.
During the rescue mission Luc isn’t the only one rescued which puts one of her guys on a tailspin away from her.
Emotions are high, the tension is smothering and everything is at a standstill until they can find Dante’s father since somehow he escaped during their rescue mission.
We end on another shocking cliffhanger where we see Sawyer wreck her bike and has to fight off an abduction only to crawl to a door and blackout on the other side. When she doesn’t arrive to see Dante and Enzo on time, Dante’s ready to bring down the city to find her even if he has to go through Cain and Oliver to do it.
There is no love lost between these guys and I can’t wait to see how this all turns out in the next book!

Book 4 Chaos & Carnage

Finally Time…

What a conclusion to the Black Creek series! We were left on a cliffhanger from book 3 and book 4 picks up right where it ended.
Sawyer found herself in a bad spot. Injured and about to black out. When she wakes up it’s two days after she went missing. The guys are frantic, they found the wreckage of her beloved bike Raven and the dead body near by belonging to one of Giovanni’s men. Fearing the worst possible Dante, Enzo, Cain and Oliver scour the city looking for any sign of Sawyer.
Luckily Sawyer was helped by a “friend” that kept her safe until she woke up. She returns to the compound and all the guys don’t know whether to spank her or kiss her for worrying them to death.

Sawyer, Cain, Oliver and the Rejects must join forces with Dante and Enzo to finally bring down Giovanni and bring peace back to the city.

Lots of action, danger, death, injury and most of all the determination to make a change in the city for the better of the people who live there.

This was by far the most steamiest book of the series! Woo “fans self” you will not be disappointed if you like a little something something with your danger and thrills.

I hate that this is the end but so glad that Sawyer and her men find what they needed most in each other.. a family.

4/5⭐️
This is a four book omnibus. Such a damn good series!

Book 1: This first book is a bit slow to start. There’s lots and lots of character building and world building so you just have to embrace the details until the action starts!

I can tell the next book is about to be full of action and drama and I. Am. Reaaaady!

“𝗧𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲, 𝗜’𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗱. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗱-𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗼’𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.”

Sawyer is truly a boss b*tch. Nobody even expects The Reaper to be a female, she has everyone running scared and not even looking in her direction and I love every second!

Definitely a fan of Cain and Oliver’s mission and truly do think they’re in this for the greater good. Can’t wait to see how everything plays out!

Book 2: I knew this second book was going to leave me wanting more! Gosh, there’s so much to unpack with this one!

I loved the way Sawyer, Oliver and Cain’s relationship flourished throughout this book. I’ve loved Oliver since the beginning, but obviously broody Cain was a little tougher. Not anymore, he has all of my support, asshole tendencies and all!

But also we had new developments with Enzo and Dante. I can’t wait to see how that relationship develops more in book three.

Can we also just take a second for this scene? 🥵

“𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲,” 𝗜 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳. “𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆.” 𝗜𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝗘𝗻𝘇𝗼’𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲. “𝗜 𝗳𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆.”

Book 3: this one came with a vengeance and absolutely stole the show!

This was undoubtedly my favorite book of the series so far.
The third books in four book series’ ALWAYS make my blood pressure skyrocket…every dang time! Especially because most of them have horrid cliffhangers and this one was no different.

CHAPTER 18?! Excuse me. I for one, did not see that plot twist coming. Like at all. Mind blown.

I can’t say much in detail about this book because there’d be major spoilers. But I have to applaud Cain’s character growth…SO GOOD. He’s absolutely become my favorite guy and he’s earned that title!

The conclusion that’s coming in book four is surely going to be epic and I can’t wait!

Book 4:
the epic conclusion was everything I wanted and more!

Sawyer is such a powerful badass woman and I’m glad that she never faults from knowing how strong she is.
The character growth from all five main characters was SO GOOD. Cain and Dante’s amazing growth really made my heart swell by the end of this.

“𝕀 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕠𝕟𝕖 𝕨𝕙𝕠 𝕙𝕒𝕤 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕧𝕚𝕤𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕚𝕟 𝕓𝕝𝕒𝕔𝕜 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕨𝕙𝕚𝕥𝕖, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕟𝕠𝕨 𝕀’𝕧𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕚𝕟𝕥𝕣𝕠𝕕𝕦𝕔𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕖𝕔𝕙𝕟𝕚𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕠𝕣. 𝔹𝕖𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕖, 𝕀 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕝𝕚𝕧𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕞𝕪 𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕧𝕒𝕣𝕪𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕕𝕖𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕪. I love this omnibus so much!!!

Rebels and Rejects- Oh my god, this book is FANTASTIC!!!

Rebels & Rejects is book #1 in the Black Creek series. This book is a dark reverse harem, make sure to read the authors note at the beginning!

This series is gonna be EPIC!!

Sawyer is feisty, scrappy and will do whatever it takes to survive in Black Creek. She has her brother to take care of and just wants him to have a good life. She is so much more than meets the eye, and i can't wait to see more of her!

I need my own Cain and Oliver! Rach always writes such dreamy guys, I swear! I can't wait to see who else is in the harem, I have my eye on a few potentials 😉😉

Rebels & Rejects is gonna suck you in and keep you invested in the Black Creek world! I cant wait for more of this series, its gonna be so damn good!!!

Murder and Mayhem- That cliffhanger is ROUGH, but I LOVE this book!!!

Murder & Mayhem is book #2 in the Black Creek series. It's a dark reverse harem, make sure to check the trigger warning.

We pick up right where we left off in Rebels & Rejects, and I'm pretty sure my jaw was dropped for 80% of this book!!!

Sawyers relationships with Oliver and Cain (after she gives him a kick in the ass) really start to grow, and feelings develop. She is on board with them to take down the Antonellis.

Dante and Enzo, I can't say about them without giving anything away, but be prepared for hotness!!!

We get to see some flashbacks and mentions of other characters from Rachs other series and it made me so happy!!!

The Black Creek series is gonna be EPIC, and I can't wait for more!!!!

Damaged and Deadly - I freaking LOVE this series!!!

Damaged & Deadly is book #3 in the Black Creek series. It's a dark reverse harem. Make sure to check the trigger warning.

I can't wait for October!!!

We pick up where we left off and its action packed all the way to the end! I don't wanna say too much and spoil anything, all i can say is this book is INCREDIBLE!!!

The crazy twists and turns, the action, the drama, the spice, the plot, the cameo, its all AMAZING!! This is now my new favorite of the series.

I will be counting down the days to Chaos & Carnage!

Chaos and Carnage- What an ending!!!!!

Chaos & Carnage is book #4 in the Black Creek series. Its a dark reverse harem. Make sure to check the trigger warning.

I wasnt ready for it to end 😭😭😭

Sawyer, Dante, Enzo, Cain and Oliver have been thru so very much and seeing them get their happy ending was awesome. They have created the perfect little family.

I don't wanna give anything away, you just have to read this tension filled, action packed, amazing read that's stuffed full of hot spicy scenes!

I'm so sad to say goodbye to these characters, but i can't wait for what comes next from RA Smyth!

I loved the Black Creek series and was so excited for the complete series in one book. The bonus content was perfect! I don't think I will ever get enough of Sawyer and her harem. I still want more of Luc though.

Rebels & Rejects: This series is a spin-off from the Pacific Prep series but it is not necessary to read that series first, although it is amazing! Black Creek is ruled by various gangs all vying to steal power and territory from one another. Rebels & Rejects started with a bang and hooked me right from the start. I love Sawyer’s character; she is fierce! She protects those around her and refuses to be controlled by others. She hates the gangs and the influence they have over her town so she wants to take their power. I cannot wait to see how she develops throughout this series! I have a soft spot for Oliver but I’m not too sure about Cain yet. I’m sure Smyth will make me love all of these characters by the end of the series though.

Murder & Mayhem: R.A. Smyth, what the heck was that ending??? As I got closer to the end, I knew something was going to happen because there are still two more books in this series but I was not expecting this ending at all! Sawyer is an amazing FMC. She is not afraid to take on anything and everything to protect others. Oliver is probably still my favorite but Cain is definitely growing on me. I can’t completely get a read yet on Dante or Enzo but I really want to like them however that will depend on how book 3 starts out. There are some spicy scenes in this book including M/M.

Damaged & Deadly: Sawyer is one of my favorite FMC. She is a fighter and will do anything to protect those she cares about. I loved how she put the guys in their places and forced them to suck up their hatred for each other when it was needed. I completely fell for Dante in this book! There’s so much more to him then I initially thought. He is willing to do anything for Sawyer. One of the guys upset me towards the end of the book. He was one of my favorites so I hope he can redeem himself in the next book. There were big twists in this book that I never saw coming and had me rereading parts to make sure I understood what was happening.

Chaos & Carnage: I love Sawyer! She is so fierce and the scene in the casino proves just how fierce she really is. I love Dante, Cain, Oliver, and Enzo. They are all different but have similarities and just fit for Sawyer. I think we got to see some different sides of the guys in this book which I loved.
I can’t say it enough how much I loved this series!!! It is action packed, has some really steamy scenes, and will leave you on the edge of your seat so you need to read this book/series now! I am sad that it’s over though because I really want more of all of these characters.

Rebels & Rejects

I looove Sawyer, she absolutely makes this book. She is by far and large the heart of this story. She’s been through so much on her own and trying to help raise her younger brother and give him a chance at a normal life outside of Black Creek. She does things to champion women who have been beaten down (literally and figuratively) that truly make her formidable. I love her views on life and her morals. Enter Oliver and Cain, two bad boys that she never asked for but she’s drawn to regardless. I thought Oliver was wonderful but I’m on the fence with Cain. He hasn’t proven himself worthy of Sawyer in my eyes. I can’t wait to see how this story progresses and how some of our outer laying characters rope into Sawyer’s life.

Murder & Mayhem

Murder & Mayhem is an absolute powerhouse of a book! A second in the series is not always easy, especially when book 1 is so good but this one did not disappoint. There's still so much happening at once, this is really a fast moving book and I ripped right through it! Sawyer is my lady crush for sure, she is everything you could ever want in a FMC. My love for her only grows in each book. Like everyone else I was left really frustrated with Cain after book 1 but I'm happy with the events of this book and the relationship that's developing between him and Sawyer. I love Oliver of course, he's everything Sawyer really needs. I can't wait for the next book!

Damaged & Deadly

Wow!!!! This book turned everything up like 10 levels! All of our important characters are now on the chessboard and are all interacting with each other. Not necessarily nicely… but they’ve all got one thing in common. Sawyer. She is the tie that binds and she’s going to take no prisoners both in her personal life and also with getting her brother back. Such an amazing series!!

Chaos & Carnage

I’m so sad that Sawyer’s story is over! I adore her as a FMC. I’m hopeful that whatever series follow that she will be included as a crossover character. This final installment of Black Creek gives us everything we need. A ton of action but all of the resolution we need for our beloved characters. Sawyer proves time and time again how much of a bad B she is but there’s one scene towards the end of the book that is *chefs kiss* perfect! The guys are all somehow learning to play nice with each other despite being total alphas (except maybe Oliver who isn’t quite as alphahole as the others). I loved this series!!

I'm so excited that R.A. Smyth has put all of the Black Creek Series books into one big book and it now has extra bonus scenes.

Sawyer is the main female lead in this series and she is amazing! I have a girl crush on her. She is confident, feisty and doesn't take any prisoners. Rebels and Rejects introduces us to Sawyer, Cain and Oliver.

This book is a reverse harem and is on the darker side. There is gang rivalry and murder, so if this is your cup of tea, then please give this series a try.

There is a lot going on in Murder and Mayhem. She finally knows who Enzo is and who he is a part of. Sawyer is determined to do her best to get Intel on the Antonellis for the Reaper Rejects and because she's a woman who is constantly under estimated she sets out to prove herself by using her in with Enzo.
We get to meet Dante finally and wow his name must come up under the definition of possessive. He is known for his ability not to show emotions and uses that to be a ruthless cold assassin, but when he finally meets Sawyer again she gets under his skin, but in a good way.

Damaged and Deadly gave us a different side to Dante and his relationship with Sawyer. He's still incredibly dominant and possessive of her, but she's bringing out emotions in him that before were totally foreign. I loved reading about his struggles to let Enzo share Sawyer with him and it reminded me of a toddler refusing to share his favourite toy. Enzo was really funny in this book when he tries to rile Dante up at every opportunity 🤣.

Sawyer is still extremely torn between her gangsters and her Mafia men and she struggles to find a balance, resulting in her trying to force the 2 sets of men to work together.

I wasn't impressed with Oliver's behaviour towards the end of Damaged and Deadly, but I could understand why he did it.

Chaos and Carnage is the final book in the Black Creek Series. It kicks off where the last book ended with Sawyer missing and the guys having to work together despite their mistrust of each other.

This book was full of action, panty melting steam, humour and finished off with the best ending.

The relationship between the five of them really ramps up in this book and some of the scenes were extremely spicy.

Sawyer was an absolute Queen in this book. She consistently blew me away with her strength and cunning. The way she deals with a particular scene towards the end of the book was incredible!

If you're a fan of reverse harem romances which are dark and full of growly alpha men then this is the series for you!

Let me first say how excited I was to get all 4 books in 1!!
This series was filled with all the things I love! Why choose, mafia, gangs, and found family. Packed full of action, twists and turns, steam and more!!!
I highly recommend!!!
Rebels and Rejects
What a fantastic introduction to the series!!
We meet our girl, Sawyer a.k.a Red. She is a true bad*ss and she backs it up. She is smart, confident and will fight for others. She has so much love for her brother.
Then we have Oliver, Cain, Dante and Lor.
The author gives us a great set up in this book. The storyline, action, secrets, a bit of steam and lots of questions to be answered!!
Murder and Mayhem
We get a lot of twists and turns in this book! We also learn a lot and have more questions to be answered.
We still get action, drama, and steam!
Sawyer continues to prove how awesome she is.
So far, I like most of the guys. There is one I still got a little frustrated with at times.
Overall, I enjoyed seeing the relationships develope between them.
Be warned, we do get a crazy cliffhanger after this one! Just made me more excited for book 3 though!!
Damaged and Deadly
The series keeps getting better and better in book 3!! We get more edge of your seat moments, action and steam. Also, lots of secrets and some unexpected.
I feel like family is a big point in this book, and boy does Sawyer prove how much her brother means.
The guys as well, even though there versions are a little different.
Sadly, we get another cliffhanger!!! I need to know what happens next!!
Chaos and Carnage
R.A.Smyth doesn't disappoint with this final book!!
Sawyer and her men go through so much. With each challenge they face, they continue to fight.
There was no shortage of action, emtions or spice.
Again, Sawyer shines the brightest in this book. Her strength and growth was impressive.
Overall, I loved each of the characters though. I loved seeing them all come together as well.
Finally and most importantly, we get a fantastic conclusion!

ARC review for 'Black Creek Omnibus' by R.A. Smyth

I've read this series some time ago and I've instantly fallen in love with Smyth's writing. So now as a part of author's ARC team I'm super excited that R.A. Smyth has compiled all of the Black Creek Series books into one large volume, complete with extra bonus scenes!

Sawyer is the captivating main female lead in this series, and I must say I have a girl crush on her. She exudes confidence, feistiness, and refuses to be taken advantage of.

Rebels and Rejects introduces us to Sawyer, Cain, and Oliver. This particular book delves into the darker side of things, with elements of gang rivalry and murder.

There is a lot going on in Murder and Mayhem. Sawyer finally discovers the true identity of Enzo and his affiliation. She is determined to gather intelligence on the Antonellis for the Reaper Rejects, and being a woman who is constantly underestimated, she sets out to prove herself by leveraging her connection with Enzo. We also get the chance to meet Dante, who is known for his possessiveness and ability to remain emotionally distant as a ruthless, cold assassin.

Damaged and Deadly offers a different perspective on Dante and his relationship with Sawyer. He remains dominant and possessive, but she is able to elicit emotions from him that were previously foreign. I enjoyed reading about his struggles to accept Enzo sharing Sawyer with him. Enzo provides some humorous moments as he continuously attempts to provoke Dante. Meanwhile, Sawyer continues to be torn between her gangsters and Mafia men, struggling to find a balance. Her efforts to force the two groups to work together add an interesting dynamic.

Chaos and Carnage concludes the Black Creek Series, picking up where the previous book left off, with Sawyer missing and the guys forced to collaborate despite their mutual mistrust. This book is action-packed, steamy, and filled with humor, culminating in a satisfying ending. The relationship between all five characters intensifies, leading to some extremely spicy scenes. Sawyer shines brilliantly in this book, consistently astonishing me with her strength and resourcefulness. Her handling of a particular scene towards the end was truly incredible!

If a dark why choose romance with four alpha men and one hell of a female protagonist piques your interest, I highly recommend giving this series a try.

𝕭𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖐 𝕮𝖗𝖊𝖊𝖐 𝕺𝖒𝖓𝖎𝖇𝖚𝖘 - 𝕭𝖔𝖔𝖐𝖘 1 𝖙𝖔 4 - 𝕽𝖊𝖛𝖎𝖊𝖜

Author: R.A. Smyth

Couple: Red with Oliver and Cain

Tropes: why choose, dark romance, enemy to lovers, mercenary FMC, morally gray MCs, RH, gang romance, mafia romance, arranged marriage, forced proximity

Review: A deliciously dark and twisted romance full of gangs, violence and wars. R.A. Smyth is able to create a harrowing and enthralling dark why-choose romance that will leave you on the edge of your seat waiting to see who falls next in this complete collection of the four book series. While each book is great on its own, this omnibus collection includes multiple never seen before bonus content from different MCs POV that will blow your remind!

Black Creek is set inside the same world as her previous romances and there are some overlapping characters you see cameo throughout. The way Smyth was able to create the interconnected worlds allows you to read any of the series in any order but also builds upon the plots and events if you read them in the order she recommends. I loved how Red and Hadley were already known to one another and found their friendship to be a bright light in Red’s story. I also enjoyed how Beck is seen briefly since I loved him in Pacific Prep.

The area I found the best within this set was the extra chapters the conclude each book since they are from a different guys’ POV. I felt like they gave you a sense of completeness for some of the scenes done and enjoyed getting to read how Red affected each man! As a why-choose series, the multiple POVs were a must have for me and Smyth truly knows how to craft a harem with each character’s individual voice. This is a set perfect for anyone who enjoyed why-choose romances on the darker side that will captivate you from the beginning!

Rating: 5/5, a wild ride through Black Creek and its favorite lovers!

If you love a good Dark, Why Choose, Mafia, Gang and Vigilante romances you will love this series. It has it all; fast burn, enemies to lovers, forced marriage, multi-POV and a little bit of stalking (in a good way). This Omnibus is compiled of all four books in the Black Creek Series, plus lots of extra bonus material. There are several dark themes throughout this story. So please be sure to check all trigger warnings before diving in.

The female lead in this story is tough as nails but has a heart too. Sawyer, otherwise known as The Reaper, Red, Spitfire, Trouble or Mia Vita; and her brother have had a difficult upbringing in Black Creek. She has done everything in her power to find them a home, food and stability. All while keeping a secret of her own. She loves and fights fiercely for everyone that matters to her.

All the men in this series have their own strengths that attract Sawyer to them. These strengths speak and complete different parts of her. I love how they are not friends and do not get along at first. Each guy wants Sawyer for themselves, but eventually realizes she would never settle for less. They have to find a way to work together and learn to trust one another to accomplish their ultimate goal. It's fun to watch all these personalities clash and test one another. Sawyer really knows how to pick them; all hot tempered, stubborn and smitten.

There is action, drama, steam, suspense and surprise appearances of crossover characters. I love how this story connected to another series, even with the smallest of details. It is always fun to have visits from past characters and see how they are doing. This series does a great job of allowing each character to find and better themselves. I can't wait to see where Ms. Smyth takes us next time, it's always a wild ride.

ARC Review
🖤Black Creek: The Complete Series🖤
Black Creek 1-4 + extras

By R.A. Smyth

⭐ 5/5 ❤️ 5/5

🖤 Why Choose
🖤 Forced Marriage
🖤 Dark Romance

All in one and more

Who doesn’t want cliffhangers and to read a series complete and up above loves why choose, dark romance is absolutely right with this one.
It includes all four books plus extras no one wants to miss.
This series has a tough female lead character, Sawyer.
And in book one:
Rebels & Rejects we get to know Sawyer along with Cain and Oliver. There are a lot of characters and storyline we learn about. The story is intriguing and it happens so much you have to stay focused. Life in Black Creek is to survive. And When Sawyer meets Cain and Oliver, who have their own goals, it gets interesting in more ways.
In Murder & Mayhem the relationship between Sawyer, Cain and Oliver gets working out. Their chemistry is over the top. The alliance is unsteady. And while they want to take on the Antonellis, Sawyer’s heart is torn. and that is because of Dante and Enzo.
In Damaged & Deadly the story continues where it ended in the previous book. Sawyer and her plan is going down when she sees her brother and what happened to him. And now she has to do something that wasn’t a plan for her future. And make four men to work together when they actually don’t like each other. Outcome unknown.
In Chaos & Carnage ,the last installment in this series Sawyer does get her brother back. But that comes with consequences. With two men officially being traitors and two becoming enemies, they are forced to find common ground to work together against the Mafia. Can Sawyer be that tie that binds them all? Or the threat?

must read series!!

The one thing that is a guarantee when you read a series by this author is that you will get a feisty, sassy woman that will bring her men to their knees.

“You gave me the job, it’s mine. Now sit back like good little boys and watch me do it.”

Sawyer reminded me a lot of Hadley in the fact that she is willing to do anything survive. Sawyer takes on a role of the Reaper and there is nothing that she won’t do to make sure that her brother is safe. Even if it means getting involved with two gangsters and two mafia related men.

“You look like the sexiest badass I’ve ever laid eyes on,”

THE MEN!!! I honestly had my doubts on how she was going to make it work with these very possessive men especially since their crews are on the edge of war. But when making it work means that they get Sawyer, then they will do what it takes.

“ Damn, is it inappropriate that I’m getting serious Daddy Cain vibes right now?”

This story had me on the edge of my seat in book 3 and 4 when everything starts to get exposed, secrets are revealed, choices are made and at times my heart broke a little for the anguish and pain these characters endure. But don’t worry, we are given a perfect ending for this imperfect found family.

“My ruthless Rejects. My merciless mafia men. My bloodthirsty gangsters. My ferocious family.”

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Actual rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is the collection of R.A. Smyth's Black Creek series, which was actually one of my first few RH series last year when I first found the genre, and one of my first introductions to the world of dark RH romance.

This series is still nothing short of amazing. You have a strong, kick-ass FMC who stands up for herself, and intriguing, unravelling mystery with hidden connections between characters, and so much character development, from the FMC to all the MMC's. Throw in the hot-as-hell relationships (and the surprise MM action which I did not see coming on my first read of the series), and it makes for an incredible read in one binge-able collection.

Smyth has extended Sawyer's little world by giving us some extra content only found in this edition, so I highly recommend picking it up and diving deep into the world of Black Creek.

As always, check your TW's/CW's before diving in. This series also links into Smyth's other RH series (notably Pacific Prep and Crescentwood) but there is no requirement to read those series - though I do highly recommend reading them.
