Belle's eccentric Uncle Lucky has left her his spooky house in the tiny village of Kingaken. Twenty years ago, her little brother disappeared here, never to be heard from again. Returning to the place for the first time in so long resurrects more ghosts than she cares to face. When it also summons a sexy faerie, with an agenda of his own, Belle had best pray her luck is better than her sibling's. "A truly fantastic read! Ms. Holly turns the shape-shifting world on their respective ears! . . . 5 of 5 stars!"-badasschicksthatbite.blogspot.com "I don't know how Emma Holly does it but I hope she keeps on doing it . . . a smoking HOT read and a great story."-In My Humble Opinion (inmho-read.blogspot.com) HIDDEN series
I'm a USA Today bestselling author who LOVES the hot stuff, both to read and to write. My favorite obsessions are all things coffee, almost everything on HGTV, and dreaming up new stories.
Cute with a fairy tale feel. Lots of happiness for all at the end. Lots of sex, emphasis on LOTS. The story didn't really move my soul but it entertained me. There was not really a bad guy in the story so that took something away for me that the rest of the story didn't make up for.
I like Emma Holly's style. She seems to have fun with her characters and makes them as real as possible. Her humor is woven into the story at just the right places. I love the fae so I plan to keep reading anything she writes in this particular series.
Move Me by Emma Holly Another absolutely delightful, sexy and sweet story set in her Hidden Series. Belle returns to Kingaken because her Uncle has left her his house. She hasn’t been back since her brother Danny disappeared. While there she meets an incredibly sexy handyman and reunites with some old friends. This story has fabulous fairy sex, fairy luck and a holiday HEA. I absolutely loved this.
This was a quick and fun read. It delivered on the spice and had funny moments. The connection between the characters was a little quick and not totally developed or clear, but if you just go with it for the fun fantasy of it, it's a good little read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story and characters were interesting and I couldn't stop reading till the very end. I love all of Emma Holly s books.
How does a person deal with the loss of a little brother under mysterious circumstances when the adults that you trust and expect to turn to in times of stress and worry end up acting like morons? Their being callous and selfish left a little girl clueless and emotionally alone. When a reader meets the woman that the little girl grows into, it’s a terrific sentimental hook that truly ensnares and fascinates. Once again Ms. Holly delivers a story that is as touching as it is sexually super-charged with characters that come to life in thrilling detail.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a ghost riddled by guilt and a hero on the run for his very life, along with matchmaking townspeople who know a secret or two. Move Me is rich with conflict, surprises and a quirky happy ending that made me feel like I’d found the prize in the Cracker Jack box. It was simply a ton of fun to read.
What more could the story have that kept me flipping the pages? A very inventive dream sequence, that wasn’t truly a dream, inspired by magic gone awry. The hero, who is masquerading as a hunky handy man named John, was quite imaginative with magical restraints and ties. That whole scene was very seductive and the heroine responded the way I wish I could – with wholehearted abandon, acceptance and enjoyment. The question is, what part is pure dream, and what is based on reality? I enjoyed the part when the heroine, Belle, had her eyes opened to the fantastical truth. But before that was the kitchen scene. Whoa, that was hot too, especially when Belle drove him crazy by doing this one innocuous thing that makes a ton of sense after a reader realizes that what Belle saw in the dream is in fact real. I wish men had places on their bodies like that in truth. How much fun that would be?
Another aspect I liked was how Belle didn’t act as “John” expected her to. It drove him nuts; it enthralled him and made him nervous. He’s never gotten nervous, ever – nor does he fumble and doubt himself. But what the hero doesn’t realize is that he’s falling in love. That’s another thing I enjoyed about this story. For as long as he’s been alive, and out of all the things he experienced, the hero had never fallen in love before. I felt pretty smug about his being disconcerted by Belle. A man like that needs a strong woman who isn’t afraid to face things, and who refuses to run away. She’s all that and more and it made me like her character. My liking the heroine ratcheted up a notch when she did what she did in the shed. Her reaction was perfect, as was the subsequent action by the hero. It was very Gone With the Wind to a certain degree and brought to mind a grand romance with their flamboyant gestures.
The suspense and personal conflict reached another critical level when their time ran out and the door bell rang. “John” had to face the music of who he really was as well as what Belle really meant to him. Like the romantic grand gesture, the hero made what should have been a happy time into a tragedy – choosing the greater good instead of instant gratification. His willingness to do what he did, for the reasons he did it, cemented his status as ‘hero’. It mustn’t have been easy to write this because it’s not what a reader would expect nor want to read but Ms. Holly always knows how to make the happily ever after worthy of the journey.
The author also captured the heartbreak, sadness and despondent feelings of the heroine. The personal journey Belle had to take was well written and described with words that captured the emotions. It was the darkness before the dawn and was effective.
The ‘dawn’ was a real treat. Although this isn’t a holiday story per se, it had that atmosphere of “Oh look! Santa’s was here! There are presents!” The final act takes place while Belle celebrated Christmas with the friends she’d ended up making in the tiny town that was now her home. That entire chapter and the epilogue that came after defined happiness and showed good things do happen to those who believe in the impossible -- you just have to be patient. The ending is also spiced with more energetic love play between Belle and Duvall a/k/a John and it captured the desperate celebration of two people finally grabbing their happily ever after and holding on to it with gusto.
Move Me delivers satisfaction and entertainment from beginning to end by combining a little mystery, emotional healing and paranormal hijinks with hot sexy loving that’s unique and just a bit naughty. The book has two wonderful characters that I enjoyed watching fall in love and Ms. Holly’s sense of humor comes through in terrific fashion. This story is a delight and can be considered another gem to add to my keeper shelf. I’m a happy reader.
Going home is never easy, but if you are Belle Hobart returning to the home that your nine year old brother disappeared from 20 years ago is heart wrenching. When Belle's Uncle Lucky passes away he leaves all his worldly possessions to her, so she finds herself back in her childhood hometown of Kingaken and in need of a handyman. When John Feeney, the handyman, shows up suddenly things are looking a little brighter for Belle.
Dubhghall is a faiery on the run and hiding out in the mundane world is the safest place for him. When he lands in Uncle Lucky's work shed it seems that his fairy luck might just be working for him. All he has to do is seduce Belle into offering him anything he wants in the world and then he can go home again. What he didn't plan on was falling in love.
This was a great short story that gives you a little mystery, a dramatic homecoming and some seriously melt the snow hot sex. It's a fun read set in her "Hidden" world and has some interesting build a story around me secondary characters. The chemistry between Belle and Dubhghall is sexy and entertaining. I enjoyed their banter and liked that Belle was a woman who wasn't afraid to ask for what she wanted. If you are looking for a little something to warm up the cold winter nights then Move Me is the perfect addition to your library.
I *really* like the world Emma Holly has created with the series. You get all manner of supernatural critters with a side of hot sexin'. This time around we're given a sexy faerie prince who finds the woman of his dreams when he's least expecting it.
Also, he can go all night. JUST SAYIN'.
Belle and Duvall (he goes by several names in this book, btw. Several.) have some serious chemistry. Belle wants him something fierce but she's dealing with the emotional punch to the gut of returning to the town her brother disappeared from years ago. The more time Duvall spends with Belle, the more he comes to like her. And crave her. It's a perfect combination.
Did I mention that he can go all night? Or at least several times in one night. Rawr!
What can I say except that this bad boy worked for me. And I am totally reminded of how much I loved book 1. I might have to go in for a reread of that one.
Emma Holly is sort of a go-to author for erotica, and I was interested to see what she'd do with this fanciful fairy story.
And...it was OK, and sorta hot in places...which is what you'd expect from an Emma Holly book. Belle inherits her uncle's house, which contains a portal to the Faerie plane. Dubhghall, a fairy prince, escapes from his mortal enemy through the portal, and meets Belle. Lots of pretty hot sex follows really quickly.
Since it's such a short story, there's not much time for Holly to do a lot of character development. Belle's a sympathetic heroine -- she cares about people and wants to do the right thing. Dubhghall is an incredibly hot fairy hero. Initially I found him hard to like, since he comes across as a little shady -- withholding or distorting facts to suit his situation. However, as you get more into the story, and he falls hard for Belle (and she for him), he mellows.
The 'big reveal,' when Belle finds out who he really is, is sort of anti-climactic. When Dubhghall is later reunited with Belle, it's very sweet.
"Move Me" was a really great read to me. I kind of wondered how her brother disappeared, I wish she would have went into more depth on that front, but maybe in her other books she explains a bit better. I was really surprised that Belle was so quick to have sex with someone she did not know, but Dubhghall seemed so sweet and sexy that hey if I was in her shoes I would be quick to give it up too lol. It was awesome that they both feel in love. I can not wait to read the entire Hidden series in order.
Feb 6/21 - This one is also set mostly outside of Resurrection, but since it features a a Fae Prince, his tie to Resurrection is much clearer. Belle is a perfect counterpoint to his princely handsome-ness and tendency to arrogance. She is sharp and smart and beautiful. I really like this one.
~~ Dec 4/13 - So good. I had out off reading this book from the same world as the Hidden world, the plot didn't appeal to me. Boy, was that a mistake. I loved this story. It was sweet and sexy, has a wonderful heroine and hero and was fun. Read it.
I've read some books from Emma Holly that were interesting and hot. It's been a long time since I've read one of her books, but I'm "cleaning" my Kindle list and I've this one that I must have bought sometime. I can only say that the heroine/hero are likeable, as are the secondary characters. But it isn't that catchy. It has entertainment value, just because it's cute, it has a happy end and it doesn't make us too anxious (that's a no-no when I'm on vacation or when I want something fast to read before going to sleep).
I didn't realize I hadnt rated this book yet. The sex in this book is hot as are all Emma's sex scenes. The world building was great but there was a whole section where Duvall went back to Farie that could have been expanded. I felt jipped not to get in on that part of the story. The book was only 150 pages so it would have been doable. Love her happy ending though. If you like Faries this book is for you!
After her uncle passes away, Belle inherits his home. This is an interesting novella with a lot of sex and a bit of story. In one of the quickest romances ever, Belle falls head over heels for a tall, muscular faerie named Duvall. Duvall leaves Belle to try and rescue Belles brother that disappeared 20 years ago. Will Duvall ever return? And what about her missing brother?
Fun, but little time for anything other than insta-love since it was so short.
I've only read Hidden Talents, so I don't know if the briefly mentioned rampage through Resurrection happens somewhere later in that series and would be interested to find out.
I already know I have to be in the mood for erotica and it appears that once again, I wasn't in the mood. That's not to say it was bad; it's just me, but with it being fairly short I thought I should continue.
I really enjoyed this book. it was a fun, steamy read. Duvall was so easy to visualize and of course yummy to look at! I loved the ending, it was just my style.
The first chapter was a great intro, captivated me with the mystery of Belle's missing brother. Chapter two completely lost me with the intro of the fae, but won me back it Chapter three when the story started progressing. Overall a pretty ok and quick read, but that was what I was looking for.
Emma Holly knows what she's doing, and does it very well. I didn't know it was a part of a series, as it stood alone very well. I didn't mind how easy a read it was, how basic a plot there was, or anything. It did what it was made to do, and well. ;)
Not my fave of books Emma Holly has written. Hate when deception is a major plot point. Always makes me angry when a heroine automatically forgives a big lie.
This was a cute story, but not what I expect from Emma Holley. A novella in the resurrection series it really only has a very loose connection to resurrection
Emma Holly's faeries are a step above your average super natural. Duvall is Hot, sexy and powerful. This was a fun story with an interesting plot and steamy sex.
Emma Holly's books are always a fun read. Her characters are engaging, the plots keep me reading and she creates a parallel universe that I want to visit even if I can't live there.
