Reading Order for The Ammonite Galaxy series: Valhai Kwaide Xiantha Pictoria The Lost Animas The Namura Stone The Trimorphs
This is book two in the Ammonite Galaxy series and is a young adult science fiction. Although science fiction is not really my thing, this series is better than I had expected. I think it is because the characters have some depth to them. Their personalities are unique; there are close friendships, and also humor.
They are involved in a war for independence on Kwaide, the home of one of the characters. There is plenty of intrigue and fighting to liven up the story. Some of the adventures pushed it a bit much for me, but I think younger readers will love it.
I have a little more trouble with the lake that is alive and some of the other unhumanlike creatures, but they do add an element of excitement to the story. It is really my own prejudice about science fiction coming to the forefront.
I would recommend, especially to young readers. There are some positive messages about friendships, sacrifice, and love.
This book picked up right where the first ended and might be difficult to follow the background without reading book one first.
I received a free copy of the book in exchange for writing a review.
