This book did not have enough detail. I took it to Sicily with me. I was there for three weeks. Only the basics of things were the. It needs to be at least twice as thick. I have the Rome book,and the Barcelona,and they are wonderful, but this book is too small the give enough information.

DK Eyewitness-sarjan Sisiliaa tutuksi tekevä matkailijoille tarkoitettu kirja on oivallinen lukukokemus, onpa sitten ensimmäistä kertaa lähdössä saarelle tai useamman kerran siellä poikennut, ja teoksen avulla voi sitten syventää tietämystään ennen matkaa muista lähteistä.

Yli viisisataa kuvaa, reilut 50 karttaa ja saman verran piirroksia antavat osviittaa, missä kannattaa piipahtaa Notossa, Syrakusassa tai Palermossa. Lukemista helpottavat myös värikoodit, eli saari on pilkottu pääkaupungin lisäksi eri lukuihin, jos haluaa tutustua eteläisen Sisilian nähtävyyksiin Portopalosta komisario Montalbanon miljöisiin.

Myös pienemmistä kylistä ja kaupungeista tärkeimpine nähtävyyksineen saa lyhyehköt listaukset, joita voi halutessaan syventää Google Mapsin tai Tripadvisorin avulla. As usual, I find the DK Eyewitness Travel books to be the most helpful in planning a trip. With all the photos, you can visualize what places are like well enough to determine if they are your taste or not. I always supplement with another guide for a little more cultural, local detail (ie Lonely Planet books), but I use these books for the most information in a well laid out format.

I am a travel book junkie and love to pick up books of places that I am hoping to visit next. This one was one of the better books on Sicily that I have read.
