📖 That brings me to the question - What is a story !? A story has many definitions, it can be the one our grandparents used to tell us, it can be an equation for nerds with complex elements or it can be a way of presentation which has various aspects and effects on people.
📖 In the book, Sandeep dissect and brings out these aspects and effects of storytelling in different phases of a person's life, from Personal to Professional. The book is divided into the three primary sections, such as;
🔹𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 - 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠
🔹 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬
🔹 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡
📌 The book, further discusses the affects of storytelling on human brain. It provides a huge amount of examples which later on help in creating ground for some fresh perspectives for the readers to think and comprehend in an efficient way.
📌 Apart from these, it offers some amazing insights such as, the 10 golden rules of storytelling, and teaches how storytelling can be used for content creation and other management services.
📌It offers a wide variety of examples and humourous conversations, with an ample amount of figures that Vividly shows the creative side of the book.
📌If you're someone who is interested in personal development, working in a corporate sector, or running a business, then this might be a good fit for your Bookshelf.
When I picked up Sandeep Das's book "How Business Storytelling Works," I felt an instant connection. Working for the same client as the author, I expected insights that would resonate with my own experiences. The book is neatly divided into three parts, starting with the basics of storytelling, moving into its role in the corporate world, and finally how it can aid personal growth.
The first section does a good job of introducing the concepts. It's clear and gets you started on what storytelling in business is all about. The middle part, however, didn't hit the mark for me. It felt dry and didn't keep me as hooked as I hoped. I was looking for something exciting, but this section just didn't have it.
The real value comes in the last part of the book. Here, Das offers practical tips that you can actually use. This section made the book stand out and is why I'd still recommend it. The writing style is engaging, with some light humor sprinkled in, which makes for an enjoyable read.
I'd give this book a solid four out of five stars because of how it ends – it's packed with useful advice. If it weren't for this strong finish, I'd probably go with a two. There's also a bit too much fluff in places. Like a movie that runs too long, the book could have cut some content to make it an even better read.
Overall, I'm glad I read it and I'm ready to put what I've learned into action. For anyone interested in the power of storytelling in business and beyond, this book has some real gems, especially if you make it to the final chapters.
Indeed, it has been a great book to read as I got introduced to various interesting use cases of storytelling be it for corporate excellence as well as for personal growth. The book very strategically takes the reader on a joyride towards understanding the fundamentals of how stories have been created and how they get applied in our real life. The best part about the book is that it explains in a very simplified and user friendly and every concept is backed with some examples that helps the reader to see the application of these concepts in problem solving. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who's planning to level up by leveraging this #1 skill of storytelling.
I loved reading this book. It explains some of the most complex topics in storytelling in a very easy to understand language with plenty of powerful examples and anecdotes. The parts that would definitely stick with me would be: - Structuring the story into three parts beginning with clearly outlining the problem statement, the challenges and then the resolution - Pyramid principle - Using pop culture references - Nested anecdotes - No flab - The peak end theory
Read the book to find out above all the above impactful concepts and enhance your day to day communication

This is a decent read which focused on how telling a story is a key skill in professional world and book gives sufficient emphasis to storytelling as a skill. There are certain concepts which are explained on how to tell a good story and it goes to that extent of suggesting to make good ppts. While reading it I felt that this book is inclined towards IT/Software/BFSI sector as there are numerous examples from that perspective and has limited examples beyond that. It is a quick read with lot of examples and stories from movies, popular personalities, incidents and global trends.
Part 1 of the book really hooked me. Part2 was good as well but the author doesn't follow what he preaches. He talks about being minimalistic in the use of words but in the 3rd Part of his book, he keeps repeating the same content from previous 2 parts time and again. And he doesn't stop at making a quick reference. He types the same paragraph all over again. I felt this 200 page book could have easily been written in 120 pages. While I enjoyed reading the first half, the 2nd half felt like a never ending book.
This book emerges as a beacon for those aspiring to remain pertinent in the evolving landscapes of both corporate and personal spheres. Irrespective of your professional background, be it as a corporate professional, entrepreneur, tech guru, marketer, strategy consultant, social media influencer, or student, the insights shared in this book provide a comprehensive guide on how to navigate and succeed in the REAL world.
Additionally, in his book Sandeep extends its influence beyond the realm of business storytelling by providing a curated list of recommended movies.
I highly recommend exploring the insights contained within its pages.
best book to understand the art of story telling which helped me to understand various elements to approach a business use case - Rule of 3, use of anecdotes and many more interesting facts that can shape up for a better future. Highly recommend this book for all who would like to use the best of story telling approaches and how we can bring more efficiencies in the way we render. @sandeepdas
