Preschooloers will love the surprises waiting behind each flap as they learn important early concepts.
Full of unexpected delights, these bold, brightly illustrated lift-the-flap board books introduce early concepts to preschoolers. Opposites abound in BIG AND LITTLE with ingeniously positioned flaps. A "short" snake becomes "long" as the flap doubles in size; a ladder extends upward to become both "bottom" and "top." Learning becomes play in this clever board book.

I did like the book, it dealt with opposites. The illustrations were very good with emphasis on what made them opposite each other. Culturally it spoke in ways children could understand, and with language to be understood at the preschool age, there was no gender specified. Children should respond with enthusiasm-I would emphasize the differences in knowing what opposites mean. Yolanda Mason
1- I really like this book because is a book with opposite words and pop up pictures. The pictures are nice and colorful, and each page only shows opposites with one single word. Children can also learn colors with this book.
2- Children would be exited to read this book because the cover is nice and colorful with a baby giraffe and Big giraffe. I will emphasize with my body and demonstrate the opposites while reading it.
I love this book for preschoolers because children can learn basic concepts from lifting the flaps. They learn opposite words, for example: Happy/sad baby/grownup winter/summer one/many rough/ smooth and so much more... Children are using their fine motor skills by lifting up the flaps. In one of the pages it shows a picture of a kid with summer clothes on, and the next page has the same kid but with winter clothes on. I can tell the children why they think the kid in the page is wearing sunglasses in the summer? Also, why they think the kids has a hat and a scarf when it is winter? Moreover, the illustration is very colorful with simple single words that children can understand in a preschool age level. I would emphasize by demonstrating with hand movements and showing them like in/out, closed book/open book, bottom/top and short/ long.
