God Will Provide: How God's Bounty Opened to Saints and 9 Ways It Can Open for You, Too

Rate this book
A specialist in human goodness and recent saints, Patricia Treece offers the fruits of years of research on how God meets the material needs, in varying ways, of his people. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, for instance, refused to let anyone raise money in her name, insisting if God wanted something done through her, he’d send the money. Other friends of God did seek donations and got them in amazing ways. Most intriguing of all, Treece found people living quietly anonymous lives secure in God’s providence. From them she has learned to live that way, too. In this lively book she offers copious examples of ten universal principles to live by so you can join those who know, in good times or bad, God will provide .

I love this book. It's simple, accessible, and chock full of wonderful stories of saints and believers who had faith that God would provide. And from that faith flowed fruitfulness in both material and spiritual wealth, the kind that benefits others and the greater good. I imagine a great deal of research went into finding and putting these stories together, and it shows. This book would be meaningful for all Catholics, Christians in general, and maybe even those who are curious about how having faith in the Divine/unseen can truly be generative in the earthly realm!

A very inspirational, encouraging book about trusting God and getting one's life in line so one can expect and receive His blessings. It uses mostly Roman Catholic examples but would be profitable for Protestants as well.

This was my first exposure to author Patricia Treece. She focuses on nine virtues (i.e. Cultivate gratitude. Don't block the flow of God's supply. Retool your mind, etc.) and how God helped saints to learn them. In many instances, the virtue learned was in spite of their vices.

She reminds us that the Pope awarded "Mother Angelica (EWTN foundress) the "Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice" award in spite of her temperament, that was both her cross and allowed her to acheieve great things for God. Your imperfections and humanity will not keep you from service to God either."
