Incorporating all the latest developments in technology and software, this manual, now in its third edition, is ideal for anyone who lacks experience or confidence in using a PC. The reader will learn how to set up their PC, get to grips with Windows 7, work with software and drives, get online and send emails. With clear, jargon-free text, plenty of practical exercises and numerous hints and tips, this manual is aimed at the complete beginner and no technical knowledge whatsoever is assumed or required.
Sometimes I think about technology and how fast it moves. It really is a marvel! I'm always having to learn new operating systems, versions, user interfaces, the works! I decided I needed a refresher on everyone's favorite operating system - Windows XP. I thought I was in way over my head but fortunately, Kyle MacRae came to save the day. Kyle really knows how to communicate in a language that I understand. He even has an awesome sense of humor too! One of my favorite jokes refers to the mouse as a rodent! Why do they even call it a mouse anyway?
Full-color photographs and witty writing really make this a fun adventure. Unfortunately, I did not like when the book was telling me how to sit. I am reading a book about computers - not sitting? I know how to do that very well thank you. I wish there was a book in the series about keeping up with my teenage nephew on Facebook. Hope he's not getting into trouble at school!
I would like to see another entry in this series. Perhaps an intermediate edition?
