Dragon Daddy's Nanny

Rate this book
A Single Dad Shifter Romance

I’m a dragon daddy, and she’s the irresistible nanny who is about to get burned…

My night club, The Dragon’s Den, is heaven on earth. For a dragon, that’s saying something. I have constant access to sin after delicious sin as well as a steady stream of women in my bed who are eager for me to corrupt them.

I’ll admit, the baby someone left on my doorstep was unexpected. Likewise, the positive DNA test was damning, so I did what every dragon daddy in my position would do—I hired a nanny.

Mariah is the perfect candidate. Hardworking, nurturing and with just a touch of feistiness. You can’t blame me for proposing some additional…benefits. Sadly, she’s determined to resist me and has the crazy idea I’ll make a good family man.

I’m afraid all her well-laid plans will soon burn, though. Not only am I failing miserably at resisting her, but I think she’s tempted, too. Worse still, the baby’s mother is about to make our lives a living hell…

Oh my goodness. Can I give this a negative?! Evan was the most immature man ever. All he cared about was screwing to keep his dragon at bay. He was like a teenager not a grown man. This could have been good if they didn’t mKe his character so immature and aloof.

good but too long

3⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was good but too long.
It says it’s 1 book but inside is 3…..but still it’s 1 book 🤔 and then there is another separate book.
This book definitely could have been shorter.
Some writings were repetitive, Mariah a little annoying at the end but overall it wasn’t bad.

This dragon shifter human romance was an interesting good read but it's a cliff hanger which I'm not fond of. I will need to determine if I will read any further into the series.

I absolutely loved Mariah and Evan. The build up of their relationship was beautiful. You don’t get a whole lot of back story on either character, and what you do get it happens about midway through. The reappearance of Rosalind adds the baby mama drama to the situation, and I just keep hoping she gets what’s coming to her. The story line was good and well thought out. I’m hoping to find out more about each of the character in book 2.

Roxie Ray is starting her new series Dragon Rebels with Dragon Daddy's Nanny. It's a sweet romance about two people stepping outside their comfort zone to give love a chance.

Evan is a dragon shifter living the high life as a New York business mogul, he's also your classic F-boy. Evan doesn't ever do relationships, heck he doesn't even repeat the women he sleeps with. I didn't care too much for Even at first but it's pretty obvious that he has emotional trauma from the past and when he actually starts to put in the effort with a few situations I start to like him.

Mariah is the sweetest person ever, she really loves her job as a nanny, connecting and caring for children really calls to her. However, Mariah has issues as well due to the way she was raised and while she dreams of a family she's too scared to take the risk so she's a nanny instead and she's great at it.

When Evan becomes a father overnight and Mariah steps in as a nanny the sparks fly. These two have a strong attraction for each other but both are fighting it, Even because he so needs all the help he can get with his daughter and Mariah because she already loves his little girl with all of her heart and she's trying to be professional. Watching the back and forth between the two was pure entertainment. Mariah a nervous wreck and Evan was losing his mind, the restaurant scene was the beginning of the beginning. It was great mostly because it's when they realize they want more Even's done a one-eighty and Mariah's getting out of her own way.it's

Dragon Daddy's Nanny was a sweet and entertaining read that I was able to go through fairly quickly. I never really saw myself reading a nanny story, I didn't feel like they were for me but Roxie has done a good job with this one. The story took a surprising turn the last fourth of the book and ended on a cliffhanger, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what comes next.

I’ve read other books by this group of authors. Several of their dragon shifter series. I’ve enjoyed those books. This one not so much.

Evan. Dragon shifter, billionaire, single dad. Extremely handsome, has women of all shapes, sizes and ages throwing themselves at him. Needs to use sex to burn off extra energy to keep his dragon under control. He has no problem finding a willing hookup when he needs it. It’s one of these hookups that comes back to bite him in the backside a year later. He comes home to find an infant on his doorstep. His daughter according to the paperwork he finds with the baby.
Mariah. Human, nanny, her best friend works for Evan. Her latest job is just finishing up, she’s looking for the next one, when her best friend says her boss is looking for a nanny for his daughter.
These two have an instant connection. They can’t take their eyes off of each other. Can’t think straight, can’t focus, can’t ever cross that line.
Mariah was a great nanny. Fell hard for Sophia the moment she saw her.
Once Evan got used to Sophia and had some direction, he was a good dad. But I never felt like he was her parent. More like an uncle that got stuck raising a kid.
I struggled with this book. There was a ton of back and forth. “I’m attracted but can’t go there. I want him but I need this job” over and over and over…. Too much. This book could have been cut in half if most of that had been taken out. Other than their physical attraction for each other, I just didn’t feel a connection between them.
Other than mentions of needing to keep his dragon in check, or mentions of other dragons, there are no dragons in the story. It could have just been any other single dad/nanny story.
I really hated the fact that after Evan has Mariah staying over to care for the baby that he’s still bringing random women home. Still actively looking to hookup.
This is not a complete story. I hate having to buy the next book to get the entire story. I hate cliffhangers.
I will not be buying the next book.

Evan and Mason own the Dragon’s Den, one of the hottest nightclubs in New York. Evan is a dragon shifter, and it is illegal to shift in the confines of the city. The DD is only one of the clubs that they own together. Evan is an alpha dragon shifter and uses one night stands to keep his dragon under control so he doesn’t shift. On New Year’s Eve he does his usual and the following year there is a baby on his doorstep. He immediately calls for help from Mason. Mason’s sister brings over a bunch of things from when her kids were babies and that sets him up to start caring for the baby, Sofia. Mason calls in a few favors and blood is taken from Evan and Sofia to make sure she is his. The mother just abandoned her on his doorstep. Since he is clueless and Mason can’t be there all of the time, they interview for a nanny.

One of the interviews is with the roommate of Analise, one of the workers at the DD. She is the only one to know about Sofia other than Evan and Mason at work. Mariah is her roomie and she gets the job. It works out because the family that was her old job, is now moving to Britain. There are a lot of reveals about Sofia’s mom. I see red every time I even think about her. You’ll see why. The book is sooo good. All shifters are required to register with the Office of Shifter Affairs and they register Sofia. It is said that dragons can only procreate with others of their kind.

Mariah teaches Evan how to care for Sofia properly. But he still tries to live like he did. There are misunderstanding and mischief and mayhem. Finding out why Evan is alone was heartbreaking.

Oh my goodness, Dragon Daddy’s Nanny is a beautiful love story with a twist.

Evan was a dragon shifter who was abandoned by his clan when he turned eighteen. His parents were killed by the clans enemy who wanted the power and money of the Carey clan. Sebastian was the alpha who ruled and protected his clan. Sebastian and his wife brought Evan into the family and raised him as their own until Sebastian named Evan as his successor. Because of youth, lies and deceit Evan was left without a family or clan. He moved to New York where he was found by Mason who later became his best friend and business partner. So on New Year’s Eve, he met this young woman who was a dragon shifter. They had a one night stand and she became pregnant. Evan didn’t remember her and when he went home one night a baby was left at his door. In doing some investigating, they found out Evan was the baby’s father. Mariah came from a parent who had abandoned her but she lived with her aunt. She moved to New York along with her best friend Analise. Mariah got the job as Sofia nanny. Mariah was falling for Evan and he was falling for her. This book is so goo. It is written like two books combined into two books. I highly recommend if you like dragon shifters, you will never be disappointed.

very slow burn romance

Evan and Mariah really are soul mates but she is human and he is a dragon. His early past is murky but the past 18 years he and his partner and best friend Mason have become exceedingly wealthy. For the past 18 years he’s denied his dragon by pursuing woman indiscriminately. Until the Nanny, Mariah. Mariah also has a murky past. It’s a slow story where the outside tension comes way at the end of the book. Personally I think the two books could have been one. I’ll have to wait 2 months for the continuation of this story. I wish I was warned that the two books were connected and not two separate tales connected by a series arc. The whole dragon thing was not really relevant and didn’t really effect the story until the end. Evan could have been just a billionaire playboy with an oopsy baby, who happened to be drop dead gorgeous. I suppose Mariah being human, maybe, will effect the next book as will all the dragons from Evans past, so in the next book it’ll be more relevant. The book dragged a little and I think more of book 2 could have been hinted at in book 1. I’d have waited for book 2 to be out before reading 1.

Oh wow what an amazing book to read. I love how this storyline developed from beginning to end. The characters personality made the book a very entertaining story and got me completely sucked in right from page one. Roxie Ray has gone and written another formidable book and I love her dragon shifter romance books.

Love It!

Ooh a sexy Alpha Dragon shifter full of passion and having women fall at his feet at a moment’s notice and one nanny who isn’t afraid to tell him her views of him makes for one sultry steamy read!

I couldn’t put the story down until I’d finished. I loved the banter and suppressed passion throughout the pages.

Evan doesn’t know how to bring up a baby and now he has a baby girl he’s out of his depth with and needs help in the form of a nanny he’s employed. Mariah instantly falls in love with Sofia but she’s not too happy about the father.

Enjoy this fun, steamy, intense read, Evan is doing his best to resist Mariah but watch as the sparks fly. I loved all the characters and their personalities they all complimented the storyline quite beautifully.

Definitely a Recommended Read!.

This story starts with Evan the owner of a club called the Dragons Den. He is a dragon shifter and quite the player. During the course of his one night stands he gets a female dragon shifter Rosalind pregnant. This sets up the storyline and need for a nanny when the baby is left at his doorstep. Thus Mariah the human nanny is hired. There is somewhat of an instant attraction when they meet but they fight it to try and keep things professional. I don't really like that Evan keeps up his player attitude which only complicates things for Evan and Mariah but I like that Mariah stands her ground and sets him straight. Will Evan and Mariah get their HEA when the Rosalind decides to interfere? Guess you will have to check it out to see. It ends in a cliffhanger though so will have to get the next installment to get the whole story.

Evan and Mariah's Story . . .

Evan Guerrero, a self-acclaimed player, enjoyed the nights at his club, The Dragon’s Den, with shifter and human women eager to be chosen by him for a night of fun. Unfortunately, having a baby left on his doorstep, which DNA testing proves is his, put a little crimp in his style. So he needs a nanny to take care of the child.

Evan hired Mariah as the nanny he needed. She seemed to be a good choice, so he added in some extra benefits for himself. She is resisting his “add-on’s” for now. But what will happen when he is having trouble resisting the feisty woman? And just when he thinks she might be giving in to his charms, will the arrival of baby Sofia’s selfish mother Rosalind wreck all of his plans? Will Mariah walk away, or stay by his side to fight this? Book 2 will be here in a few months to satisfy your curiosity!

"...knowing wasn’t the same as understanding."

Evan is a playboy with no plans to settle down... that doesn't stop fatherhood from turning his life upside down.

Mariah has no plans on becoming a mother, she gets her kid fill as a Nanny, and loves it -- but she's not prepared for the clueless Dad who hires to care for his 3 month old.

This kindle unlimited book is immersive, with dialogue that flows smoothly, and all too believable scenes as Evan wakes up to Fatherhood and discovers feeding schedules, petting zoos, and talking to a baby he remains convinced doesn't understand a word of it.

The charm of this story comes from two characters with childhoods they are grateful to have left behind working to create an environment where baby Sofia will not only thrive, but never feel the heartaches Evan and Mariah carry.

This wasn't what I was expecting, I thought I was getting into a light fluffy shifter romance but it was so much more.

Evan is a bit of a player and is a dragon shifter - until a bundle is left for him, that is a cute baby girl.

Mariah, gets hired to be a nanny, she has strict work boundaries and is quite forthright putting Evan in his place.

There is an attraction between the two MC and it's a relief when they give in. I loved how their relationship developed through the book. I was thinking well surely we get the happy ever after soon, oh no you don't that's when this storyline takes a turn and we're thrown in to danger, deceit and lots of old secrets.

As I mentioned it's more than I expected, you do get a happy for now at end but it's not a complete story, so I'll just have to endure more of hot Evan won't I 😉.

WoW

Don’t even know where to begin.
Didn’t see this one coming. I normally don’t read long books because I’m an instant gratification kinda gal. Didn’t pay attention to length of book til I was already sucked in, which was pretty much from page one. When I realized the length I actually thought about stopping but it was too late. There was no way I was putting this book down!!!
The chemistry and connection between Mariah and Evan is (pun intended) on fire!
The secondary characters are a wonderful, key part of the storyline as well.
There’s definitely some intense drama also, which I don’t usually read but again, sucked in from page one. This story will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat!
There’s more than one book to this story, which I also am not a fan of, but guess who’s gonna be reading it!
Can’t say it enough, I highly recommend this set of books!

This is a great new series and a super sweet romance. I loved how cute the relationship was and how it slowly grew through the book. Mariah and Evan are brought together by the most unusual circumstances. A baby is left outside Evans door, and Mariah is looking for another nanny job. It’s perfect, except that Evan knows nothing about raising a child and Mariah won’t let a hot dragon shifter take control of her time. After several ups and downs they finally start to accept that they both have feelings for each other and their relationship goes from professional to personal. The cliff hanger ending makes me want to read book 2 right now and I can’t wait to see what Roxie comes up with next.

First things first this book is the first in a duet and it ends on something of a cliffhanger so be prepared for that.
Evan is a dragon shifter who basically doesn't shift. While that makes it easier not to break the rules for the city it really isn't great for his dragon. He's found a way to take the pressure off but it has meant that he has well-earned the title of being a playboy. A life he was relatively happily living until a one night encounter leaves him a father and a baby on his doorstep. Now what? Mariah is hired to look after the cutest shifter baby but the father is more unruly than the baby. In the setting of ground rules and caring for the baby Evan has opened up to her. She's starting to see another side of him but can mixing business and pleasure ever truly work out?

Evan is a playboy who runs The Dragons Den and one night a baby is left at the door. Checking DNA, the child is his so he sets up a nanny and the sparks fly with Mariah, even though neither wants anything to happen. The characters are well developed and the storyline flows with their back and forth banter until they can not stand it anymore and give in to a possible future. Loved the chemistry and how the characters grew in strength and determination together through the book, even when the actual mother shows up to cause trouble. The ending was great, along with a small cliffhanger to get you psyched up for the next book.

Evan likes to play hard, but what he doesn't expect is consequences in the form of his baby daughter, Sofia. She is dropped off on his door step and he is completely overwhelmed. With the help of his business partner, Mason he hires Mariah as a nanny. Mariah is amazed at how little he knows about the care of his daughter and sets out to rectify this.

The heated, humorous personality clashes between Evan and Mariah are truly entertaining. A spanner is thrown in the works when Sofia's mother resurfaces. This is a fantastic story with plenty of heat between the two main characters. It is the first in a series and ends in a cliffhanger. Really interested to find out what happens next.

This was a nice read although frustrating at times. Evan is an alpha dragon shifter who has to keep his dragon under control because he can’t shift in the city, he’s successful and has a playboy reputation, a one night stand changes everything for him, not only does he become a father but he meets a woman who potentially could be his mate but he has no idea why he feels the way he does, could he actually tame his dragon?
Nice story, the plot and characters are good, but I was frustrated by the way Evan seemed clueless about his feelings toward Mariah although understandable based on his past. Lots of pent up angst, some aggressive moments, some great steamy scenes, and sweet moments. Overall a nice read.

The Nanny and the Dragon shifter. Mariah is a Nanny and loves her work. Evan is a Dragon shifter. He owns quite a few Clubs with his partner Mason. Now Evan has a bit of a pickle. One night coming home after work with a one nighter there is a little surprise at his door. A BABY! His is a bachelor and plans to stay that way. NOW WHAT? There is also a note stating that the baby is his. He is frantic. He knows nothing about babies! Mason tells him to get a nanny. Mariah applies for the job and gets it. But Evan and Mariah clash at the beginning. She knows he is a Dragon shifter. Will this work out? They both have difficult pasts that haunt them. On top of that they are attracted to each other but not that each one knows that. But it has to be professional, right?

A delightful story about dragon changer Evan and Mirah. Evan is a bachelor and thinks himself a playboy. They meet when he hires her as a nanny for his daughter who was left on his doorstep one day. And finds out that she is his mate. Just when things are going well between them and they are a bit open about their feelings for each other, the mother of his daughter suddenly appears on the doorstep and she has no good intentions. A story where you are tied to your pages and you can completely disappear into their story. Their story ends in a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read the sequel.

I'm so used to Roxie Ray doing standalones I wasn't expecting a cliffhanger!

This is a good read. By the end it's really finding its footing, but not an awful lot happens. I think there is a bit too much will they won't they (it's obvious they will) but that part just goes on a bit long. It's not till Rosalind comes into the picture that there is any sort of action.

Evan is a different male lead to a lot of Roxie books, he is less sure, and to be honest harder to sympathise with until well over half way through.

I like the development of their relationship though. And it's a fun read.

An enjoyable romance

Once again, there are two complete books within! This is an engaging but unsurprising story: man-ho Evan has his usual one night stand, a year later he's gawking at the bundle at his door, his own personal Mary Poppins in the form of Mariah is gifted to him out of nowhere, and they bond while cooing over the baby. What makes this story shine are the likeable characters and their realistic reactions throughout, as well as the question of how the author will choose to resolve the plot. The megalomaniac (HEAVY emphasis on maniac!) villain is perfect, and plenty of unsurprising surprises are introduced. I am intrigued by Jax, though...
