From a Scriptural, historical point of view, this book is accurate and deserves a 3-star rating. BUT from a style point of view, it is dreadful and doesn't deserve even 2 stars.
I am not sure who Mr Bentley was writing for. At times, I thought this must have been an undergraduate dissertation for a Bible College. At other times, I wondered if it was a series of studies for people in their early- and mid-teens - a suspicion that was fueled by the writer's diversion into personal, moralistic hobbyhorses. But the most consistent impression I gained was that this book was made up of lessons prepared for pre-teen Sunday School learners.
I'm sorry Mr Bentley, but this book is really not good reading material.
