Rate this book
Gathered from authentic sources, multitudes, while dying, see and hear things that are not seen or heard by others. This book reveals the awful contrast of the saved and unsaved dying testimonies.

I had mixed feelings about this book, and here are a few reasons why: The testimonies are mostly from the late 19th C. and the quaint language takes away, at times, from the gravity of the death-bed dramas, whether they be infused with hope (the saved) or entirely without it (the unsaved). Secondly, after awhile many begin to sound alike--but now and then a remarkable story is shared and is worth reading the whole book for. Readers will find it is impossible to miss the clear pattern of joy and hope for those who are Christians and the utter lack of both for those who are not, but it could be argued that the accounts here were compiled and collected by Christians (though not all, as some are drawn from historical records). It's worth noting that most people died at home in the past without strong narcotics and this made the accounts possible, as many people could whisper right up until the last moment. Nowadays, with drugs and hospital gadgets preventing communication, you might not be able to hear from people moments before their death; this makes the book more valuable in my opinion. Overall, the ring of truth is in the details of the majority of the stories. I believe that anyone suffering the fear of death who is already blessed with the fear of God will feel better after reading this book, having hope that their passing can and will be joyful. For those apart from Christ--well, I imagine they won't be picking up this volume.
