This is a very interesting book detailing four true crime cases in the UK.
The first is that of Donald Nielson who kidnapped a teenage heiress and held her for ransom; for a short book detailing four different cases, I was surprised how much detail the author was able to include. The anguish of the victim's family is palpable, as is the horror and sadness the policeman who found her body would've felt.
The second case is that of Jeremy Bamber and the slaughter of his family at White House Farm; this was the only case I was familiar with and it still made for interesting reading. Bamber obviously thought he was far cleverer than he was and in many ways his arrogance was his undoing.
The third case was that of Kenneth Noye, the "Road Rage Killer". Noye is also a renowned gang affiliated criminal. One day, when Steven Cameron was teaching his fiancèe Danielle Cable to drive, Noye approached them at a traffic light due to his road rage. He fatally stabbed Steven Cameron and then spent years on the run. I was shocked to read that as of 2019, he's a free man. He ruined Danielle Cable's life, murdered people in cold blood and is now free to enjoy his remaining years. That makes me angry.
The final case is that of John Taylor; a man who abducted a sixteen year-old school girl before strangling her to death. After his conviction for her murder, it was discovered that she wasn't his first victim.
Each case was interesting but also quite upsetting; none of these people deserved what happened to them and all of these perpetrators should've been imprisoned for life. I'm certainly of the opinion that life should mean life, not 15 years, or 30 years.

Opened my eyes to how evil some people really are. 4 murders...2 of which I knew about and 2 I'd heard of but knew very little. 4 men...evil to their very core
