Reminds me of the Guy Ritchie British gangster movies of the 90s. The story here is two sometimes criminals who run a painting business get hired to paint a drug smuggler's home. They of course don't realize their client is a crime lord from Nigeria, and find a cache of drugs hidden in one of the vents they remove to do their painting. They decide to steal a kilo of cocaine and sell it. Nothing bad could happen from that, right? I enjoyed this for the most part, some parts required a suspension of disbelief, but overall an enjoyable book about gangsters and criminals.
If you are after a fast and easy thriller with a bit of humour for some light entertainment, then you'll be pretty happy with this book. Gritty, complex and hard-hitting it's not though! It is all a bit far-fetched and at times has a keystone cops feel about it along with it being fairly obvious what was likely to happen next, but nevertheless a fairly enjoyable read.
the story was OK, saved by a bit of excitement at the end. the problem I found was that I really didn't care what happened to the 2 main characters. they were caught up in trouble which was all their own doing, and I just hoped that the family was OK. I shan't be rushing to read the follow up!
