Our societies require complex degrees and years of schooling and or apprenticeship for most occupations. We invest deeply in professional development to ensure our business practices are the best. We require everyone who wants to operate a car to pass a written and a road test. Yet, when it comes to what Gregory Slaton rightly calls the most important job we will ever do, fatherhood, there are no tests, no mandatory courses, and a paucity of relevant and accessible tools. So it is that this book is a timely and welcome resource. Whether you are a new father, a father of school age children, a father making the transition to being the parent of an adult, or a grandfather, Gregory Slaton is a passionate and straightforward friend with whom you can reflect on becoming all you can be as a father for your kids.

Not a bad book, providing many valuable lessons on how to be a great father. However, the number of references to the Bible can be overwhelming even for somebody who is neutral in the matter of religion. I would definitely recommend it anyway to any Dad :)
