This was an amazing review of the history of Joe Coffee and also touched on origins of coffee in general. I loved the brewing tips and detailed notes on what makes Joe so special. Highly recommend for a poolside read!

Read this to supplement some learning about coffee processes on a farm and it served that purpose perfectly so 5 stars! Easy read, fun tone, and a good quick overview of coffee production, coffee shop culture, the global economy around coffee, and fun history facts.

A great introduction to origins, process, equipment and the language of coffee. Easy explanations and plenty of photos help enthusiasts transition to beginners in the process of sourcing, roasting, brewing and enjoying a good cuppa Joe.

Although the author does promote his own business a little too much in this book, and three times commits the unforgivable sin of using “impact" as a transitive verb, and also makes the life of a barista sound stressful, complicated, and hectic, it is, at bottom, filled with a lot of very good information about coffee and how to brew and enjoy it. Apparently, I’ve not been doing it properly all these years.

This is my fault but I thought “joe” was about general coffee making history and information — which it had — but this was actually about a coffee house of the name in NYC. There was some interesting information but for a book that consistently talked about diversity in different aspects I wish it was a bit more refreshing in their personal stories.

I really enjoyed learning about the process and the art of coffee where it comes from, the labor it takes to extract the beans to the point where it comes to the local coffee bar or grocery. Fun and educational especially for a fan of coffee.

I really enjoyed this easy read. It told the story of Joe's coffee shop and tells you the path the coffee bean makes - from a foreign country to your cup.

I thought this was a quick easy read if you want to know a little more about coffee. It's a great layman's guide to 'real' brewing if you're looking for a better way to make coffee at home.
