Satisfy the Hunger in Your Heart! The prophetic movements in church history and in contemporary life are fed by two mighty streams: While the role of the prophet is familiar, less is known about The Seer dimension. To many people, these visionary prophets remain mysterious, other-worldly, and even strange. Knowledge dispels misunderstanding, and you will discover the prophetic power of dreams, visions, and life under the open heavens. Questions answered include: The Seer will move your heart and stir up your hunger for intimacy with God because the seer’s goal is to reveal the person of Christ Jesus—to you, today.
It took me a few times to get through this book. I had to keep putting it down, letting a few weeks/months lapse, then start again. When I did finally get through it this time around, it was definitely worth the struggle. When I say struggle, it's not in the sense that it wasn't readable or unenjoyable, but more in the sense that it's so full of meat. This is not a quick read; the book is so full of deep information that taking bite-size pieces of this book is the only way I was able to absorb it and learn from it. If you are in a season where you are hungry for a deeper knowledge & understanding of the roots and operations of the prophetic, I highly recommend this book. A great read and investment in your spiritual growth.

Book Review
PARAGRAPH 1: This book has no problems but it does teach you right from wrong. There are a few chapters which really are crazy to read and i had to read those chapters twice to get the full meaning of what it really meant. It will stretch you to a place were you wont know what to do with yourself . It would be an awesome book that I would recommend others to read. As a christian I would take time to soak and pray before you begin to read and even if you are reading the book.
PARAGRAPH 2: me being so dedicated to reading this book is that this book is one of the best to I've read in my entire life. This seer is a book that tells you and also teaches you about the view of(Prophetic Visions and Dreams). I love how when I am having a rough day and I don't feel like reading the bible or seeking god who is my lord and savior and I will go to reading this book it would literally hit me because of the day I am having. If I was having a bad day, when I go to open the book to a chapter to read it will literally tell me how do dodge the fiery dart that satan is trying to distract me with and I will not let that happen to me ever in my life.
I discovered James Goll and his ministry this year. What an inspirational man of God he is.
I absolutely love that James always points the listener to the Lord. I love how he shares the tools he has used, but also includes what other men and woman of God have used to truly move closer to the heart of God.
I dropped a star on the narrator because I felt like he was rushing. Slowing down the reading speed manually also didn’t work for me, so I compensated by listening to the book 3 times. This way I felt like I didn’t miss any gems.
This is definitely a book I will be going back to.
Thank you to both the author and narrator. Well done!
every time I picked up this book I read some serious insights while at the same time laughing out loud at what the Holy Spirit was doing in me as I related to the ideas. cant with integrity give it five stars because im not really sure how to account for all of the content, because I was overwhelmed again and again with how my spirit related to the process of what was being revealed. thoroughly enjoyable book, a rare one in that I will read it at least a second time.
This was an amazing read! Most of what I have read about the Prophetic Ministry was from Rick Joyner. This was an intesting and refreshing approach to the subject. I learned the difference between a Seer and a Prophet. And I also found in this book an explanation to some experiences I have that I couldn't otherwise explain. Excellent book. Highly recommended.
A basic treatment on the prophetic giftings, throughout scripture, and today. Mostly educational, partly inspirational. He jumps to a lot of conclusions and even though I agree with most of them, I’d still like to see the theological work. Despite a few shakey premises, I am inspired to seek the Lord for more prophetic revelation! In that sense, the book succeeded in its goal.
This book had 227 pages of content, and a 40 day, 93 page devotional at the end. This was a very interesting read for me. As someone who has vividly dreamed for most of my life, I never really considered there being a reason for my dreams. However, twice in my life, in the early 1990s and just a year or so ago (2023), I have had spiritual friends suggest dream analysis to me. I bought books in the 1990s, and was frankly totally lost. This time, however, the person was also able to help with some translation of my dreams. Not everyone has this gift, and although I dream, I am frequently at a loss for translations to my frequent dreams. This recent friend shared a dream course guide with me and this book was a reference to that course. I found it fascinating.
There are two kinds of Seers, a person who dreams and receives messages from God pertaining to their own life, family, and circumstances, and someone who is in the Office of Seer. This second person receives messages for the church, the people of God, territories and principalities. This second type of Seer is required to share their dreams wider than the first type of Seer. I find it fascinating that in this book, it makes clear that God talks to all of us in different ways, and dreams, visions, and glimpses of Heaven are all just part of one way He does that. As a Roman Catholic Christian, much of this book was new to me. There are some small dream symbol pages late in the book (including numbers and colors), but not nearly enough to get started with. Another of his books, Dream Language, written with his wife, Michal Ann Goll, includes a 19 page directory of dream symbols including a more exhaustive listing of numbers and colors.
I recommend it to anyone who dreams vividly, and is interested in pursuing a spiritual path to God.
Interesting book, but tragically very protestant. It speaks of mysticism without ever bringing up the word. Good reference for biblical verses regarding visions, and they certainly know their Bible, but like most protestant Christian literature it is painfully sola scriptura and they know nothing of the work of the great monastic, ascetic, and clergical mystics throughout the ~2000 years of Christianity. They present mystic phenomenon as if it is a recent thing. It has been persistent throughout Christian history and every Orthodox church has a handful of clairvoyantly gifted parishioners, monks, and clergyman.
Ultimately my gripe is the limitations in the theological understandings of the author. If I were a protestant, I'd likely give this book 5 Stars. Since I am not, I would highly recommend people read Eastern Orthodoxy literature regarding this phenomenon. "Theosis" is a must read, as well as reading the desert fathers, St. Paisios (highly clairvoyant, died in 1994), and any of the great ascetic Saints venerated in Eastern Orthodoxy. Also can just ask the Parish Priest. If the priest is not clairvoyant himself (rare), then he likely knows someone who is. I recommend Greek Orthodoxy. Learn the truths of Christianity that western civilization has fought hard to hide. Even to the point of murder and genocide of Orthodox Christians by the hands of other Christians.
I do not turn to many books when I am seeking to understand my purpose in life. I don't want to have just book or head knowledge only; I want practical application. Enter "The Seer." This book has changed my life! I'm a "seasoned Christian". I have served in ministry for some time. This book is great for the newbie and the seasoned prophet. It has helped me to see that I am different for a reason and why that is. And the devotionals are effective in reinforcing the lessons of the chapters. "The Seer" is one book that will remain in my personal library. It has helped me become more effective in the ministry.
This was a very detailed account of what occurs in the life of a prophet and a seer. It references biblical verses still help the reader grow in the word and in the gift. It takes the mystery out of encounters with the Divine and makes them welcome. This book establishes credibility at the onset by explaining what many believers fail to experience or understand exists. It’s very refreshing to those who actively hear the voice of God and see dreams, visions, and open heavens. Praise God for this work of art.
I am very much a follower of the mystics.... Thank you for introducing me to another... St bernard...... I am in tears!!! There is so much people are missing if they truly wish to walk in the prophetic, seer realm if you can not embrace the life of these mystics.... Blessing on your ministry and again THANK YOU!
Really helpful breakdown of the kinds of visions / revelations that Christians might experience either prophetically or in contemplative prayer. He has a scriptural example for every type. This book is a reference book for word of knowledge-type encounters.
Seems the purpose of writing this book just to explained that the prophetic movement on visions and words was not anything new. Across the Bible, there are many occurances.
A very good review of the different ways seers operate according to the scriptures in the bible. Biblical, but also modern, with examples of each style of seeing coming from both the bible and from modern times.
I would definitely recommend this book. It is truly an eye-opening book. Very insightful and full of powerful gems. I thank God for this book. God bless you, sir James.
This book wasn't as informative as I had hoped. Plus it (eBook version) had several typos which looked like formatting errors. It did give me a deeper understanding of prophecy in general, so I am grateful for that.
The prophetic gift of the Seer is one of the least understood gifts. This book, now over a decade old is one of the best and simplest explanations of the gift and how it operates.
