When It All Falls Apart: Find Healing, Joy and Victory through the Pain

Rate this book
“ I began to question whether I would live through the pain.”

It felt like her world had ended. A personal betrayal had led to a very public scandal, and when the dust cleared, Riva Tims had lost her marriage, the church she had helped found, and the life she had known for nearly fifteen years. Then she received the news that her ex-husband, Zachery Tims, had died suddenly at the age of forty-two.

There were times when she didn’t think she would make it through the grief.

When It All Falls Apart  is the road map God gave her to reach a place of healing and wholeness. Using her own moving story as a backdrop, she provides answers and hope for those who are dealing with the unexpected and sometimes sudden trials in their lives.

Whether you are dealing with the unexpected death of a loved one, betrayal by someone close to you, sudden divorce, loss of a home, failure of a business or relationship, or any other serious issue, with God’s help you can turn your trial into triumph.

I was in on vacation in Orlando, Florida when I heard about the death of Riva Tims' ex-husband, Pastor Zachery Tims. Since the news was all over the airwaves in Orlando, I was interested in knowing what happened to Tims, and that interest prompted me to buy this book. While she was very open in discussing her trials and tribulations both after her divorce from her husband and after his death, she does not revel in that, but shares her victory in Christ and uses her story to minister to others who may be going through painful experiences. I applaud her wisdom, her transparency, and her focus on ministering the word of God to those who are suffering. It is a compelling read and highly recommended.

Pastor Tims has written an uplifting and shockingly honest account of how to heal from painful situations and circumstances. While most of her story focuses on the heartache that came after finding out about her late husband's infidelity, she also discusses how her upbringing shaped who she is and the woman she became after her trial. I deeply appreciated her truths about ministry and it's shortcomings when dealing with or even knowing the correct way to deal with servants who are in the public eye. And she very honestly discussed her own trials and shortcomings in some of the ways she had to deal and heal. Most importantly this is a story of hope and renewal. A story of trusting and placing your faith in God when your world is falling apart. The importance of having a strong support system and having a relationship with a Heavenly Father that can and will carry you through in valley experiences.

Awesome demonstration of Gods unfailing love

I loved the book. The authors vulnerability and humble approach to her valley of pain, brokenness and uncertainty was captivating as she regained her faith in God and trusted Him for her future. It gives us all hope in times of devastation. I have a new perspective on my walk with my Father God on this earth experience. May God continue to bless the Tim’s family and Rivas ministry...

I love the transparency in this book. Tims unashamedly shares her life experience with us and it is inspiring. Faith doesn't just happen is the main point that I got out of her message. One must go through something in order to reach a point of true growth and transformation.

Amazing!

So blessed by this book. It helped open up so much that I have been through. It has helped me process the testing I went through. So many similarities. It helped me understand where I am in the transition process and how to move forward. God bless you Pastor Riva!

"A liminal experience brings radical disorientation and confusion. The rules of what you have known don't apply anymore, nor do the rules of the place into which you're headed. It is a time of great uncertainty and insecurity." -Riva Tims

I love this book because although she is sharing her journey she brought it back to Christ and the Word of God.
She causes you to ponder and examine your own life against the Word of God.

I remember the headlines for her husband's story. Riva Tims has been fire tested. She's come out on the other side. While her story is heartbreaking, I think the story would have better been told if she started at the beginning and worked her way through. All in all, she's is a woman of tremendous strength.
