Being someone who wants to be a teacher, which is one of the five occupations that spread the Word of God, I find it very important and necessary when it comes to praying. I will admit I am not the best prayer when it comes to being a "prayer warrior" because they pray every morning after they wake up, every night before the sleep, and whenever they feel the need to do so. I on the other hand have missed praying during the appointed times even though I want to. I even miss praying during the 4th Watch a lot which is the time appointed when the Gates of Heaven are fully open. Nevertheless, praying is important to me. However, not many people know how to pray. That is why I am thankful Perry Stone wrote this book.
It starts out stating that there are people who pray and tithe in which their prayers and tithes don't even get up to Heaven. This got my attention as I read on why this happens. There is a lot on praying and tithing and everything else in between that should teach everyone on praying. Even the apostles asked Jesus how to pray in which we are given the Lord's Prayer. Nevertheless, the book is divided up into numerous chapters explaining certain aspects of accessing the gates of heaven. There is of course a history through the Bible showing how access is gained mostly centered on the story of Jacob's Ladder.
In short, I love this book and following these guidelines will help my prayer life. The steps given on how to pray enforced by Bible scripture, what happens on why prayers may not be answered and much more has helped me improve on my prayer life. I honestly hope Perry's book will help your prayer life too.
This was an excellent book. I wanted to understand how to walk in God's favor. Perry Stone really outdid himself in providing a thorough tool for prayer, as well as, keys to recognizing the gates of heaven. Wow! This book can increase a persons prayer life. A good reference book.
Fantastic book! Perry Stone digs deep to reveal answers to many questions Christians have regarding our struggles when we wait to hear and see answers to prayers. He describes how to walk in the favor and blessing of God. Only Perry Stone could have uncovered so many mysteries by piecing together scriptures from all over the Bible and applying them to very difficult questions we often have. Some of my favorite topics covered in this book were: -Prayer Types and Secrets -7 Spiritual Laws for answered prayer -The power of meditating on the Lord -Releasing the angel of blessing -Walking in the favor of God Many other interesting topics are covered. One of the things I appreciate most about his books are that he has so many personal experiences to share to really bring out the point of what he is saying. Great read!
I really was motivated in my prayer life by this book. Some of the authors ideas were inspiring. Learning to speak the words out loud was a great challenge. Viewpoints tended towards the charismatic/spirit filled movement as far as miracles, tongues etc. without being forceful although some criticism of those who don't follow this path was noticed. Overall very good.
Usually I love Perry Stone books but this book was just kind of meh and boring. I don't know if it was because I've heard this message before from him or if I just didn't like the message of the book. Either way I'll keep reading Perry Stone books and hope not liking this one was a fluke.
I wanted to really like this book, but just found myself not liking it the more I read. It had some informative substance, but I could not reconcile some the author's beliefs.
I couldn't put this down, Mr Perry Stone's ideas were logical and fantastic at once. Why cannot our Creator be this amazing, why cannot a life of a believer be this powerful and exciting?
