Is seeing really believing? Hank would never dream of coming on to the most striking guy at the bar—but it’s his lucky night since Thomas, the burgundy-haired vision in black lipstick and mirrored shades, takes it upon himself to make the first move.
While the encounter itself is mind-blowing, the hot-and-heavy grapple in the janitor’s closet isn’t the only way in which Thomas blows Hank’s mind.
Author and artist Jordan Castillo Price writes paranormal sci-fi thrillers colored by her time in the Midwest, from inner city Chicago, to various cities across southern Wisconsin. She’s settled in a 1910 Cape Cod near Lake Michigan with tons of character and a plethora of bizarre spiders. Any disembodied noises, she’s decided, will be blamed on the ice maker.
Jordan is best known as the author of the PsyCop series, an unfolding tale of paranormal mystery and suspense starring Victor Bayne, a gay medium who's plagued by ghostly visitations.
I can't tag this little HOT short by one of my favorite authors (JCP, you ALWAYS deliver!) the way I want to because it will give away the "surprise" ending. Honestly, this book needs no twist, it could just be JCP-written smut and I would be a very happy camper!
It was a really short story but can I just say WOW! I loved it! I don't even know why! I just finished and I am still sitting here and reeling! It was AWESOME! JP Price sure knows how to write and write good! Love her books both short or long. This was a real treat!
Only JCP can keep me reading what is basically one long sex scene just to see what the twist is going to be. Gotta say, I didn't see that one coming. Very sweet.
The final "twist" was pretty predictable, but it doesn't change the fact that JCP can pack amazing characters and writing in just a few pages. I really wouldn't mind reading more about this couple. No rating because I couldn't give it more than 3 stars and I don't want to bring the average rating down.
This story appeared in a charity anthology a few years ago and I'd always liked it, but also always felt it needed something more. I enjoyed expanding and deepening the story for this re-release, and I was especially pleased with the new direction in which I was able to take the plot.
An actual footage of me, telling JCP she's brilliant
Now, Fire Thief... It's a short story, so I won't blabber about the plot. It's just very, VERY good and JCP has created actual personalities in so few pages. I think it would make a good full-length story, as the characters are quite interesting, maybe surprising, and I think their traits are worth exploring and discussing further.
I gave this four stars because it left me wanting more! As always, JCP does short like few others, but I want more of these two so much that I can't give it five. Wonderfully crafted.
I have albinism, which comes with poor eyesight. I actually see pretty well, considering, but there are a lot of things I do by feel. I was chuckling at one aspect of this story by last attempt of the MC's (you'll know what I mean when you read it) because I know exactly how the guy did it.
I'm not a huge fan of short stories, but this one is perfect, and erotic, and not at all ableist, and I'd like to double the # of stars, please. :)
Too short to really have a good idea about the characters but as always, Jordan Castillo Price say a lot in a few words. This short story left me intrigued by these characters and the story behind them.
A spicy scene with an underlying layer of Greek mythology that left me wanting more - I really connected with this authors writing style! I've had their Psy-Cop series on my TBR for ages, this story inspired me to bump it to the top of that TBR pile!
A short, hot little story about a sexual encounter in a bar, with a twist that you may or may not see coming. Like so many of JCP's stories, the excellent writing makes it greater than the sum of its parts.
I thought Tom was gonna be a god or something and the dude was like, his lost soulmate. That maybe he was blind in the light but could see in the dark, or maybe it was an Eros story type thing, where one of them wasn't allowed see his mate. SO many AWESOME possibilities, but he was just mundanely blind AND THEN IT JUST ENDED.
4.5 stars. Price’s writing is so fucking good! OMG. I own so many of her works on my kindle and I have no idea why the hell it has taken me so long to read them! I loved this. It was hot and the dialogue was punchy and witty which I love. I had a blast with this and into the Comfort Reads folder it goes.
Really like this authors work. Great story that worked well as a short and yet could work even better as a longer one. Great sensual love making. Great interactions between the two men. Not disappointed again
A hot short that deftly mixes myths and their lesser known iterations, as well as the question of what loss would truly matter in life. Can you get by without one sense and still be fulfilled? Sexy, witty, and exciting, but leaving you wanting more!
