Rate this book
The Book of Revelation is not a book of doom and gloom but the victory of the Lamb of God and those who follow Him—The Overcomers. In this groundbreaking three-volume series, Dr. Richard Booker helps you understand the Book of Revelation by explaining John’s vision within its intriguing original historical, literary, and biblical context. This three-volume series gives a more balanced understanding of the book of Revelation by emphasizing the background and setting in which John received and wrote his revelation. The author explains how this background information actually determined the words that Jesus and John used in what became the book of Revelation. Without this background information, it is really impossible to understand why Jesus and John said what they said. The author connects this background information and the message in the book of Revelation with a prophetic word to our world today. In this regard, this is a groundbreaking series on the book of Revelation.

I enjoyed reading this book on Revelation and the author's take on explaining John's vision. While I have read other authors, theologians, and pastors' interpretation of this book in the Bible; I find that an explanation of the churches is vitally important. I feel Mr. Booker did an excellent job of doing this, which helps put the letters to these churches in context. I believe that anyone attempting to explain the Book of Revelation is always going to open themselves up to criticism from all quarters. I applaud anyone who, in good faith, attempts to help others understand this particular book of the Bible. I would further add I find that teaching and helping others explore the books of the Bible are an excellent way of carrying out the Great Commission. I thank the author for his insight and research. I would have given 5 stars, but I felt in some areas it was a bit repetitive. I plan to read the other 2 books in this series. I encourage everyone who has an interest in the Bible, whether or not you are a Christian, to read and give yourself an opportunity to better understand the Book of Revelation.
