The Wrong Side of the Bed [First Printing]

Rate this book
One day, Johnny gets out on the wrong side of the bed. His day starts badly and gets worse from there—until he finds a sixpence and decides to turn things around. This wordless story, told only by Ardizzone's trademark cross-hatched illustrations, is a heartwarming story about the very familiar feeling of nothing going your way.

A lovely book without text. A boy 'gets out of bed the wrong side' and the rest of the day goes wrong. Edward Ardizzone's illustrations are wonderful as always. I love the colours of this one, pale peach with lime green and black and white. There's a lovely scruffy small terrier in the book that looks just like ours!
